The tree at the end was a brilliant ending. And Dementus talking her out of killing him because it wouldn’t make her happy enough was great. What a satisfying way of getting justice

The scene gives new meaning to the phrase “Life, it’s the pits.”
Not to mention Chris is besties with Miller and leaves no conclusion on his character leaving him asap possible reoccurring character in more films to come.

@@gamingunited37it’s only been out one weekend, and it was a holiday where people travel. I know a lot of people that are seeing it this weekend or even next weekend. I wish the studios let movies stay out longer, and did cheaper tickets for 5th and 6th weekends
Furiosa isn't punished for picking the fruit. If she'd left sooner, she wouldn't have come across the scavengers, and they would have gone back and led Dementus to The Green Place.

Also, Scrotus and Chumbucket from the 2015 video game appear in the film! Chumbucket was the guy who offered Furiosa a vehicle near the end.

Hemsworth was excellent. I wish we could've spent a little more time with Dementus because he is the broken mirror version of Max. He's the guy Max always resists becoming when given the chance.

This was a worthy prequel to Fury Road, it was an amazing watch

Surprised Scrotus and Chumbucket weren’t mentioned in this video. I was not expecting them to have Easter eggs from the Mad Max game. That was a neat surprise.
Not really a surprise, since it's well known that many characters, places and plots from the game were actually concepts and ideas from Miller for the sequels and prequels, used by Warner without his permission
Max has a cameo in the movie for about 5 seconds
Tbh Praetorian Jack was like a whole placeholder for Max, down to his leather jacket and attire, sans the madness ofc replaced with wasteland stoicism
I was looking forward to some place holder scene that connects the 2 series, and it was kind of cool to see BUT the timelines between the original series and the newer furiosa films still don't coincide.
And even that one scene in this one. And now in THIS movie, they mention all of the different wars (some from history, others from post apocalypse) and this kind of fouls up the timeliness from the original movie again since max was still a cop and society was still in place at the beginning of the film.
@@swannixso George Millers writes the films as legends and that’s why the continuity is kind of out of whack, but I see what your saying. Especially since this is leading directly in fury road, and includes a recap of that film in the credits.

Shortest 2hr 28m movie Ive ever seen. Glued to the screen and soaking up every tidbit of the mythology. Can’t wait to see it again after the holiday theater crowds go away
I had a private showing Memorial Day Monday. At 2pm.
The character was named Max Rockatansky after Carl von Rockitansky - a 19th century pathologist, inventor of the 'Rockitansky' procedure - the most common method of internal organ removal in an autopsy.
As a life long mad max fan and a kid that witnessed the movies… possibly way too you and has been obsessed his whole life. This might be the best one.

There isn't ONE bad film in the franchise. How many franchises have weak entries? Most of them.
The painting in Gastown is John William Waterhouse’s "Hylas and the Nymphs" (not really Renaissance, but inspired by the Classics).
he was not sacrificing his own men. they were the men of the rival gang he had allied with. This other gang broke off from him and were attacking Furiosa's truck later on
Furiosa's Mom was the real badass of the movie. And did that "Max" looking dude just get dragged to death in the end? I wasn't sure what happened to him. They gave us like 3 deaths for Dementus but not a definitive end for hair lip Max

Just watched it. Pure epicness. Best movie of the year and it's not even close. One of the greatest prequels ever made, maybe the greatest. George Miller always delivers.Stunning acting,story,screenplay,photography, visual effects,cinematography,music, all is amazing.Pure chills. Im going watch it a second time too. Just as good as Fury Road🔥🤟 .Absolute masterpiece. Now waiting for MAD MAX THE WASTELAND

Valkyrie is in Fury Road. She is played by Megan Gale and the one run over by the People Eater. You were showing footage of her while describing what Valkyrie meant.

I think it was a great film and more grounded film wise ....relatively speaking. It kept me awake and interested through out. Many films these days have moments that put me to sleep. Even many Marvel film. Miller did a great job and one of the perfect elements with this was the sound design and sound track. The rhythmic drumming incessantly playing in the background kept the tension high through out. It gave us a look at the set up and distribution network between the bullet farm and Gastown. So in the next one there is the question of who took over those other places. The citadel needs the gas to pump the water. So she would have had to go reclaim those places. Maybe the mining at the bullet farm re purposed for something else. It would be nice to see more expansion to the wasteland.
I thought it as just me that felt like the entire film barring a few sequences had a constant rhythmic bass drum/bass synth deep and low in the background
Its one of the most impressive films I have ever seen. I was absolutely transfixed for every minute. I cannot fathom how the filmmakers have the combined technical skill and creativity to make such a masterpiece. Both Fury Road and Furiosa are pinnacles of cinematic story telling. I am astounded and grateful I have gotten to experience the horror, excitement, comedy and drama of Fury Road and Furiosa.
Sean Millis's cameo got me burst out laughing, dude was made for this role 💀💀

Furiosa gets 10/10 from me. It was the perfect movie to pair with fury Road.
Whatever chris did he never violated the child, i like that how he is man of the conditions around him and not evil.
Why in the end did Furiosa not return to the green place? I don't buy she didn't know the way due to her arm being cut off. Since the map was on her arm since childhood, you'd think she'd know it by heart.
Any thoughts about the parachute attacker looking like a black octopus. I have my own thoughts but I want to hear others.

@@pedrocruz8164 There is no such thing as a movie that is too old. And if you ever feel or think that way, then you really don't get the point of movies/story telling/cinema. Some of the best movies ever made were also some of the oldest. For starters, Ennio Morricone comes to the top of my mind (Just Google him young'n lol). Never mind Kurosawa, Hitchcock, Jesus guy, I really hope you're eventually able to open your mind and try to experience some of the brilliance and greatness, that happened long before you were ever a twinkle in hour daddy's nutsack ;D

I really wan't a 3rd installment of these Fury Road Mad Max movies and a sequel to the game. The newest movie... I think I liked it even more.

my favorite this year that something because dune 2 was superb as well i just love the action ,and energy of these mad movie im hoping alien romulus turns out to be just as epic as well ,and 2024 is shaping up to being the best year for cinema in a long time.
Dune 2, Planet of the apes, Ghostbusters ,Furiosa, First Omen, Late night with the Devil and hopefully Beetlejuice , we already had a pretty good year with good to great movies and more to come .

Mad Max's appearance in this movie is important because he was the one who saved Furiosa when she fainted on the ground, half dead.
That’s what I assumed but not seeing anyone else say this online. Are you pretty confident in this guess? You’d think this plot point would be pretty big news.
@@OKayMMusic I am, I have seen it twice. In that short scene, the Citadel is far away, and nobody from other people is nearby. In the next shot, she is laying down in a car, and the sound of the car engine can be heard :)

At first, I assumed that too, but after a little reflexion, I kinda remembered Max saw the citadel for the first time in his capture in Fury Road, so that didn't quite add up. Oh well, a mini plot hole doesn't prevent me to enjoy these 2 masterpieces. After Furiosa's end credits, now I have to rewatch Fury Road

Also, when was Max’s Road Warrior moniker passed around as a title? Furiosa’s stoic love interest here Praetorian Jack and even herself are considered as ‘Road Warriors’, Jack even having a resemblance in his suit and shoulder pad as Max!
The tree in the end also represents the re-appearance of the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Loved this film! I went into this not knowing anything about the mad max films and I was hooked from the start. There was a part of me that didn't want it to be over even if it was 2 and 1/2 hours. I might even go again.
Just a correction - the first film was set before the apocalypse, but showing societal decline, the subsequent films being post apocalyptic set after a nuclear war.
Anyone catch the cameo from the black guy with the mutated nose from the citadel? In Furiosa you see a slightly younger version where his nose is not fully mutated yet.

I just have one big issue with this and it is “MUSIC / BGM”
There is close to zero music in most of the scenes. It sort of did not work for me.

Chris Hemsworth was such a surprise in this villain role! I wonder if his revelatory episode in that Nat Geo Limitless show is making him consider showing more range in his craft

4 call backs I noticed: Furiosa blows a boatswain's pipe just like the one Max has in Thunderdome (too bad it didn't have the same effect it did on Blaster), a war boy on the war rig is on fire in the same pose and acts similarly to Blackfinger in the same situation from Mad Max 2, Dementus's leg is braced similarly to Max, Furiosa gets a sawed off shotgun similar to Max except hers works. And a bonus: big pop-out eyes!! George Miller loves him some eye-popping action
I loved the split second of pop out eyes! Pure old school mad max goodness.
The "remember me" probably meant the same thing in both instances, as if to say Joe didn't realize she was the girl he got from the deal in the movie.
Also, why tell someone she's about to kill to remember her?
People waiting for streaming or Blu-Ray will regret not seeing this in IMAX or at least in a regular theater on a big screen. It's truly epic!

As for the Feral Kid, he grew to manhood and in the fullness of time became the leader, the Chief of the Great Northern Tribe. And the Road Warrior? That was the last we ever saw of him. He lives now, only in my memories...

The special effects were so messy and blurry though, it definitely lacked the practical ones Fury Road relied on. And the overall rhythm wasn't very smooth sometimes, but still good movie
The movie was epic! I love that it directly tied into Fury Road a la Rogue One. Love love loved the fact that you see Max a few years before he crosses paths with the Citadel. ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Movie was awesome. I was actually thinking this movie proved we could have a silent Link in The Legend of Zelda.
I think Furiosa using the seed to plant a tree out of Dementus was more symbolic of her not falling into the revenge trap that she did. It was, however, a double-edged sword. Yes, incredibly painful and gross, but instead of killing him she chose to grow something from him, not giving him a quick death that he didn’t care about. he said he was dead already. So to avoid becoming just like him, she didn’t kill him, but still punished him with the greatest outcome for all. Sick and twisted and deep.
That movie was awesome! Not one second wasted!
Yea the only thing that bothered me was the ending because it seemed like it took place right before Fury Road making her the same age as Charlize which didnt make sense to me. Charlize is obviously older. Would have been great to give her a cameo at the end.
I don’t think that was intended to be right after. I think she planned that escape out over several years.
I’m pretty sure some time passed by because at the end of the movie, it shows dementus old with the tree planted in him from being there over the years. I think they only showed that part just to fill in the blanks of how all the girls got in the war rig in fury road and how it set up the events leading up to fury road.

Went in with low expectations and had my mind blown. The world building is second to none and the creativity boundless.
Mad Max The Wasteland is not Fury Road Sequel, it story focus on Max 1 year prior the event of Fury road.

Fury Road was more high energy and kinetic but, Furiosa was a really good addition to the Wasteland canon.
Everybody's forgetting about the other lady that was with furiosus Mom at the beginning they showed her again in the tunnels when they was trying to pull furiosa in the ground in the cage at the citadel

I did not see it at the theater but did preorder the dvd and received it yesterday. I think it's very well done. Themes might not appeal to some but it is a fantastic movie. It is full of momentum and action.
I really loved the movie. I just don't think Furiosa was kidnapped due her curiosity, but because she understood that those men could not leave the green place and tell others how to reach it, so she tries to make their transport unusable.

For the REST OF MY LIFE...I will watch Mad Max, Mad Max: The Road Warrior, Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, Friosa, and THEN Mad Max: Fury Road.
The spiritual aspect lends to the mythical legend theme. That's why there's a lot of recurring themes or events, as if they're being retold differently every time.
