    I haven't seen those Star Wars games 35 or so years and as you started playing them, I remembered exactly how to play them. It makes me think of the good times I had with my late brother when we would play at an arcade in Casselberry,FL called The Fun Machine. Thanks, Chris👍

    There was an ice cream parlour in Birmingham UK that had the Star Wars game. My friends and I would catch the bus at lunch time, play two or three games and be back in time for the register at 2PM! Happy memories

    I have the original release of the Arcade1up and my biggest complaint is the discrepancy between the volume of the startup video and menu and the games themselves. Going from the games back to the menu is always so jarring and I have to turn the volume down before starting the unit or going back to the menu. This is clearly a software issue and I was hoping they’d have fixed it on this reissue

    Pretty cool set up you have there. I actually owned one of the original SW arcade games, I sold it a few years back, now I wish I had kept it. My dad and I used to work for ATARI Games Corp (coin-op division) back in the 90's. My dad also worked for them way back in the 70's (the hay days) so we have decades of history there. The stories I could tell you... My collection of arcade games has shrunk over the years but I still have an original Asteroids, Tempest, Pac-Man, Frogger, BATMAN, Primal Rage, SF RUSH and several others. These 1/8 cabs are great for folks who want something like this but without the heft and size of the real things. The cool thing is those "new" games are still just running the original ROM's from the originals, so game play is the same. Thanks for sharing, have a great weekend. -David

      I gotta say I was prepared to hate the new cabs (I have the star wars one). The reliability of the cab by taking the ssi + MSI + microprocessors + ROMS + god knows what via large decrepit cab boards (those things are monsters) to one small palm sized board is just unbelievable .. no thermal issues. When you go to vintage arcades to play old school games star wars is frequently waiting for some fix. Also the Big ugly CRT being shelved for that 17 inch lcd .. wanted to hate it .. its BETTER. The bigger harder to maintain screen was hard on the eyes and very pixelated. Finally the control a lot of people complained about the yoke being plastic .. I certainly feel the gears are an upgrade (the x axis does NOT have gears just a direct drive potentiometer) compared to the spindly nylon jobs from 83.

      I've seen that you can download a file onto an SD card and upload the TMNT games and more into the 4 player cabinets (all the 4 player cabinets are the same aside from graphics).
      When the warranty is up on my Simpsons 4 player cabinet I plan on doing just that so I can have those games and not need extra machines.

    Nice build .. I was very impressed with the new coin slot. How great would it be to have that open so you can store some stuff inside the cab (its like an empty warehouse in there I have my back detach with velcro for that). I would also as a big player of the game appreciate a pause button on the cab .. because I will not pee in a jar like they did in the day, and sometimes you have to turn it off mid game to save your marriage. Anyway cool build .. loved the little details.

    Arcade1up did a good job with the design of the wooden cabinet and the retro aspect. What is absolutely incomprehensible, however, is why these age-old vector graphics games are in this €700 device. Do you want to torture children with it? Also, you can't really enjoy retro when there are now super cool 3D Star Wars games. Why wasn't at least the System Modul-3 games adapted? They could have added those nostalgia vector games as a bonus after all.

    • @adamkasper5288

      If other people enjoy this game for nostalgia and fun factor what’s the big deal? If you don’t like it that’s fine but I’ve set this game up for a local school and kid’s and adults enjoyed. This Star Wars arcade was one of the most popular arcades I set up along with Outrun and the simpsons. trying to figure out where your negative post is coming from.

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy ปีที่แล้ว

      Arcade1Up will have many of their retro games include online access so that you can compare scores and have leaderboards across the world.
      Of course the original game would not have had that, but people want to know if these cabinets can compare scores online.
