- The cinematic universe formerly known as the DCEU, now the DC Universe, has had a bumpy ride from the early days of Man of Steel, through the saga of the Snyder Cut, and now on to Black Adam and beyond. On this week’s show, we return to the Tier List format to see how the films stack up against each other.
Stick around through the tier list for our reviews of the important, and devastating new film She Said which chronicles the incredible work of two New York Times investigative journalists as they break the Harvey Weinstein scandal back in 2017. With the release of She Said, we also discuss the works of one of its stars, Carey Mulligan, as we try to choose which of her performances is our favorite.

"We needed a solo Wonder Woman movie 1st." Nah, she was perfectly placed in BvS. "It was rushed" is also another point I hate. BvS took 3 years to make right after MoS. They made a film with Batman and Superman. Batman is perfectly explained. We didn't need a solo film. Hell, the movie is his. WW is a glorified cameo. I don't see how that was rushed characters. God if LotR took the marvel approach we'd have 40 movies. I'm glad Zack did something different that expanded the DCEU without 6 solo films.

The Martha scene still doesn’t make any sense because Batman kills in the movie. Imagine if he didn’t kill and now he’s about to kill his first person and it reminds him of his parents killer and how low he’s gone. That would make sense to mess him up. But since he already is a murderer I didn’t buy his sudden change. It wasn’t consistent
That doesn’t make sense. The point of the Martha scene is that it humanizes SUPERMAN in his eyes now. And realizes he has more in common with him than he initially thought and that hes not just some alien

Ppl hopped on this bandwagon of hating it for whatever reason. And its honestly wack because no one ever has a good reason to why its dumb. Including you. Batman is a good guy? He suddenly realizes that Superman is “human” and not some alien threat. Is it supposed to be hard for Batman to be on a good guys side? Guys, if you're ever going watch an episode of Doctor Who, "Blink" (It's just "Blink", BTW, not "Don't Blink". Season 3, Episode 10) is widely recommended by fans as one of the best introductory episodes. It introduces a now iconic villain within the DW lexicon, and the normal main characters of David Tennant's Doctor and his companion (in this case Martha played by Freema Agyeman) take a backseat here to let the entire story center around Mulligan's character, Sally Sparrow. It was my pick for this blend game because Mulligan really carries the episode in an earlier role for her (2007). I'd also suggest that now is a great time to get into Doctor Who, because it was just announced that future episodes will be released worldwide on Disney+ and Disney is now helping with the budget and the man who started the entire reboot in 2005 and built it up, Russell T. Davies, is taking back over as showrunner, so it's poised to gain a whole new level of popularity.

I find it amusing that Zach Snyder is not getting more of the blame for the debacle of JL when he left it abruptly, and Whedon had to scramble to get it done when none of it was Whedon's vision to begin with.

Because Kevin was asking I would put Joker at an S easily. One of my favourite movies in recent memory, I would also put The Batman at an S, incredible movie and score.

That is true that the warehouse scene was directed by a second unit, we've known that for a long time and it's clear in the film. The BvS fight was directed by Snyder. That's why the BvS one sucks and the warehouse scene feels like it comes from a different movie. Nolan doesn't use second unit, Tarantino doesn't, most auteurs don't use second units. And as for you guys trying to rationalize that he was so involved, that's just not true. The whole point of a second unit is so that the director can focus on other things, the meatier scenes between characters.

Every bit of your guys' argument about why Man of Steel is an S, is why I'd put The Batman at an S. It for me blew every single movie on this list out of the water by a lot. And I'm sorry but WW84 was a D a C- would be GENEROUS

Great episode! How have you not done a DC tier list yet? Really enjoyed the conversation. I think Joker is B.. or maybe A-. Not an S for me. It just wanted to glorify or celebrate chaos too much for me in the story. WW84 could have gone down to a C or D+ for me. The Batman could have easily been an S.. but I'll live with the A rating. Agree that Drive was amazing and Carrey Mulligan was so pivotal and great in it.
I cried the first time I saw the Martha scene.. it hit so hard. I'm still baffled by the hate/misunderstanding of that scene. It was beautiful
