The hardest part is figuring out if you've reached the right learning mode. It took me several tries as I was afraid I was going to screw up the lift settings. When pairing to Homelink, my unit flashed purple, not blue like in the video. It's way to easy to make a mistake and accidentally mess up your settings. That said, it's the quietest door I've ever had. Quick, quiet, and smooth. Our daughter got one for her house too!
Are garage door was working just fine until it stopped and I unplugged it to fine the tips on the prongs that’s connect to the power cable were burnt, thanks overhead! Only 7 Ish years of use :’)
Despite what the video says, you do NOT need a codedodger 2 remote to program a codedodger 1, I programmed my 1 the same way he programmed the 2, by just pressing the button 3 times in programming mode

FWIW, to reprogram the remote, I only had to do one long press to get into the mode…. Then three presses of the remote with the last opening/closing the garage door.. YMMV.
Just wanna know what was wrong with the 696 ? That was one of the best openers ever put out and so much simpler to set

How do u disable remote from opening an already programed garage door.

So just replaced circuit board. Followed directions afterward to set travel limits. Step one through five in directions is to set down limits, then 6-9 is set up limits. I follow SOP and no good. Call tech support and spoke to Tim. He says Up (6-9) has to be first, then close travel limit (1-5) and open/close from wall switch to set Force. That worked. How do u fix the door not opening. Wall button is blinking blue like it should. U push it and door won't open. Just a red light is lit up on the big garage door module itself

With the Odyssey 1000, how many remotes can be programmed to it? I bought an extra for our daughters car. I can program it, but it seems that every time I get it working one of the other two existing ones loses programming. Very frustrating

I was gone for 5-6 weeks, and when I returned, doors were not working. I checked out the online video, and it seemed rather easy, however, it's easy to make a mistake, and thus I'm needing to call a repair man. I ended breaking the cable. I should have let someone who knows what they're doing repair it for me. I blew it! :-(

It is just to hard to program. You think it would be easy but its not.
hey, i have this and its stuck on two solid red lights and it wont open, how do i fix?

I have the same problem as Matthew. I have a new configured board installed and it only gives me the two solid red lights. I start the reprogram process but the door will only go down 2-3 inches and stop each time. I can not get it to move the door all the way down there for i am unable to get the limits to set or move past this point. Any ideas why?

Did this work for you as I have the same issue only i cant get the door to move more than a couple inches.
Unplug the op and plug it back in, enter the programming mode and go to the force setting, increase it by +2. Hit learn to Close programming. Hold learn to Enter programming and try setting the travel limits after that. If that doesn't work, contact genie/overhead door.. The logic boards are incredibly sensitive to static, electrical interference, vibration and some are just faulty from the box.
It’s cuz you set the limits wrong. When you set it in the close position you tap the down arrow really quick then hit the set button. And then when you set the open position you hold the up arrow until your garage door opens up all the way and then you hit the set button.
Then go to your opener on the wall and close it, then do a full open and close with the garage wall remote.
The most frustrating technology item. Unnecessarily complicated!!!! I've been searching for Door Position Sensor programming and set up for 1 hour now. grrrrrr!
You would need a cell phone with this utooob vid to follow the instructions while on a ladder. I just noticed how old this vid is: 2011! Waste of time. Pay a fortune for the door and power unit and installation and then try to program a simple remote.

You are right. If a person had never set one of these before, especially the key-less remote, there is no way they would figure it out. The key-less remote was entirely different from the two I had set up before. Even watching this video, it took me a number of times for the key-less remote to signal the opener.
This did NOT work for me. Get the manual for your unit. I have the odyssey 1000 model 7030H and this procedure didn't work for me. Glad I wasn't the only one getting frustrated with this p.o.s. Brand new unit only 2 months old, power went out in the neighborhood and garage door would not operate once the power came back on. So I called overhead door for a service call, figured something must have got damaged. Their tech came out and reset the limits, he was here about 3 minutes. Got a bill for $128, hope you got me good enough that time because I will NEVER use overhead door again. Lost power again a month later and got the manual out and got it going again. SEE YA!!! Never had a problem with the old opener when we lost power. Isn't technology suppose to get better???
Yeah these are unnecessarily cheesy as hell...where is the learn button? I had a technician come out 3 times the first year i had it installed. THESE PRODUCTS ARE JUNK!! At least this model is...and I"m guessing the rest of the line is too. I replaced one of my motors already with a Chamberlain as my single stall Overhead Door died within the 1st 5 years. Actually I think it was year 3! That shouldn't should happen!
Jesus Christ now I have to get a technician out to my house just to program a simple remote why is this crap so overly complicated!!? The batteries died on a remote I already programmed a long time ago I also remember it being a headache back then also but eventually I got it. the batteries have died on it now it's making me program it over again and this is taking way too much time for me this video did not help either.

We have the three that came with it when we bought the house. I threw the three universal ones in the trash cause I couldn’t get them to work.
I would just go with a different company. Overhead door sucks.
We have bought two Odessey 1000's in 3 years and I'll never purchase another. They are junk! P.O.S.
