No one plays this heavenly gem the way de Larrocha does. Granted, she romanticizes it but when the Sisyphean cantabile melody reaches into the higher notes, she creates an emphatic crescendo that is incredibly moving.

Dunque, la prima parte mi piace molto xché aggiunge alla delicatezza e alla purezza del suono, degli abbellimenti che ricordano il clavicembalo. Ma il fabbro armonioso proprio no. Preferisco di gran lunga Richter...ti fa proprio immaginare la bottega del fabbro che si riattiva piano piano, che utilizza i vari strumenti, che batte il ferro...la trovo bellissima. ❤

No other pianist could be so majestic and playful at the same time. Her playing, as always, is tremendously exciting. Absolute mastery and genius.
Why does it have to be “like no other?”
