Bravissimo!
Perfection, pure and simple - a reverent and musically vital realization of the genius of the sublime Amadeus. Listen again and again with undiminished pleasure and respect!
There is something about Andre and Alicia together. An embrace, a race to the finish line! Mozart was Andre’s fave composer, and it shows.
I strive to teach this type of clean and articulate playing to all of my students. Brilliant !
Musical Heaven - expressivity, restraint, deep understanding in every key stroke. A miraculous gift from two very great musicians. Thanks many times over!
Wunderschön!!!
I have heard so many versions of the sonata through the years and Alicia de Larrocha and Andre Previn's is the best by far. The musicality and sense of style is beyond perfection!
And also has a great audio this version
precisely
I agree.
...and all the nuances in the performance that assist a greater stimulation of positive neurological, cognitive, and emotional internal responses!
Finally! Found the right recording.
The most beautiful piano sonata played by the best two pianists in the world Alicia de Larrocha and Andre Previn. Enjoyed very much after listening to again and again......
+AYMA Arcadia and I can only confirm this again and again ... both piece and play are plainly marvellous.
When I'was children, my father got that precius blacks discs for us. I"ll remember for the rest of my live.thank's
I imagine this magnificent interpretation is just the way Mozart himself imagined it.
Unhurried yet still sparkling. Perfect tempo; perfect in all respects. The more I listen to it the better it gets. Thanks.
Incredible clarity and style, wow!
wow, this is perfect I love this duet.
I completed two university degrees with this recording...HOPE...SMILE...LOVE...BELIEF...SUCCESS!
Good point! When I am stuck with writing, I get the inspiration from this performance. The first few bars are enough to energize my brains and fingers on the keyboard.
The best of all the versions by people I most admire including Britten and Richter. This just makes complete sense, musically. They also enjoy playing together.
Finally a (much more than) decent recording [edit two days later: perfect] after listening to three others that i wish to forget that were listed first on a youtube search, including other big names that obviously do not get Mozart (argerich/barenboim). This one is infinitely better in every possible way.
This recording gets better each time it is re-heard, an unmistakable sign of good taste and higher musicianship (the corollary is true with poor interpretations, each listening becomes more tedious).
The gradation of nuances here are sublime, the command of time is perfect, nothing is rushed just pure music as it must have sounded in the composer's intention. I am sure Mozart would have cried from joy listening to these two fantastic pianists. The quality of the sound they produce seems to inscribe itself perfectly in time. The slow end of the second movement is amazing it transports you into a not easily accessible Mozartian vision and i think it is the heart of this piece and yet i could not have said this from the three other interpretations I listened before. This is just amazing by any comparison.
I am on my second [edit: fifth] listening and oh my god this is even better [perfection] than I thought. Major accomplishment in this recording, this will not be lost to me.
Argerich/Barenboim its a live version
Slow movement ending from 15’30” - sublime!
Two great pianists interpret the great composers Mozart's fairly late work, and sparks and imagination fly .....
Nobody beats Alicia's rendition of Mozart! She understood the music humanly.
I agree. Maybe Clara Haskil equals her, but her touch was not the same.
A wonderful rendition. Thanks.
I love sonata. this music is very beautiful andgreat!
Pure perfection! Mozart is always wonderful and the pianists, too!
Musicianship of the highest order.
Absolutely true, they are both perfect !!!
definitely my favorite version!
Thanks for the upload. I remember playing this with a fellow piano student. I had difficulty finding a recording of it back then. I'm glad to have found it years later. Brings back nice memories. It was a fun piece to play.
This is a totally energizing piece!!!!
I listen to it several times a week!
Alicia de LaRocca was a fabulous concert pianist!! I saw her play in a concert once, on her last tour of the U.S. She was a very tiny, short woman with very small hands! And she was in her 70's then! She was such an outstanding, brilliant world class artist!
It is amazing that she could perform this extremely difficult and beautiful concerto so beautifully with such tiny hands and stature? Every note is clear , her phrasing is gorgeous! This is a very musical performance of Rachmaninoff 3rd...very clear, very expressive and romantic! Her playing continues to be an inspiration!

k 521 is als very energizing and my fav sonata of all time.
Wonderful !!!Thank you .
Mozart mi costringe ad amare la vita
Best version so far...
Muchas gracías por subir este vídeo maravilloso 💖
Impeccable~~!!! Gorgeous!!
Wow it sooths my migrane!🙌
Thank you yotsuya21! You have uploaded many wonderful performances!!
Isn't it remarkable how Previn can be outstanding in both the classical and jazz worlds?
Perfect playing with elegance and innocence! I want to listen to this everyday!
This is perfection.
Fantastic music! I love this version
Paris was very unkind To Mozart
Sorry Barenboim/Argerich but speed doesn’t always do it justice, this interpretation is what i prefer
I completely agree with you. Speed is not the most important thing at all. This interpretación is perfect because that speed allows you to be able to make music! Bravo!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
@@silianazdravkova7481 not to mention mozart is all about clarity and precision being his music is transparent it must sing throughout and operatic having questions then answers finishing off with a clear bold statement. I love Mozart when played well
@@MrTaiese I completely agree with you. Now a days everybody wants to run. All these modern interpreters, specially Chinese, they just run. That's not music at all! It's very difficult to find a good Mozart's interpretaction. I'm very happy that there still are people who want to hear music and not just fast noise! 😄
Try Argerich/Babayan. This de Larrocha/Previn version here is gorgeous
wow!!!!!!!
Excellent. Thanks for the upload.
Andre Previn isn´t that bad too! - striking! ^^
Excelent
they are like butter and bread ;)
amezing!!!!
Magnificent tenor and alto registers - I guess Alicia's province...!
Martin Smith Really? I need to look at a score and see how Mozart divided the registers. This not a piano-four hands work
André Prévin is an integral part of the success of this interpretation, a sublime second pianist with a legendary Alicia worked very well here.
Wunderschon
There are data showing that this piece reduces degree of epileptic seizsures in children.
Long live Wolfgang.
Yes.
but he was a madman if the movie is to be believed. No doubt the result of his father watching over his shoulder and demanding a genius which he got.
There is no historical evidence that Mozart was a "madman".
As a matter of fact, some misinterpreted Mozart's natural inclination to freedom, rebellion, and self-determination as a symptom of madness. Along with his tendency to break up with pretentiousness, and his natural rejection to ostentation, there's no doubt that his personality can be considered eccentric. Now, from that to even suggest he was a "madman", not even close. By reading his letters, one immediately understands the great mind and human being behind them.
I perfectly agree to this comment !
BRAVI!
Update: Back again on 18 March to hear this again. :)

those 1st half of the 1st movement is repeated... seriously ._.
still a great performance tho.
All pianoduos play the repeat! That's how it's meant to be performed....
