  • A compilation of four daytime sessions (recorded on 17.12.20, 14.05.21, 03.06.21 and 07.06.22) at Fraser Hill, Whitstable (Kent, UK). Despite difficult conditions, particularly with weed, fish were caught in each session. I deal with my basic approach to fishing here, adapting to conditions, and trying different rigs for a range of species.

Another super video Rod, always the highlight of my TH-cam angling viewing. A shame this venue was so troublesome with weed, definitely more fish to be had especially to the bigger baits. Great tip too about overworking a spliced tip in a snag or weed drag. Tight lines, look forward to your next session!

Thanks again - its the spider crabs on the south coast that are currently bothering me!

Hi , I was surprised you didnt find a ray or two..but it been a strange old start to summer this year...one minute the Ray's and hounds have been thick on the ground and next day vanished. Having said that if been fishing closer to reculver...but well done the bass are always nice to see.
Thank you , look forward to your next trip.

Yes - I seem to miss out on them. Need coloured water or fish in darkness. Will try again in this area in late autumn and early spring - hopefully the weed won't be that bad then. I've had one fruitless session at Minnis, but probably too early for hounds. Focus may turn to soles now!

10/10 for effort ! Thanks for recommending Trident rig components on your last video. I've got a selection of their bits and pieces, have tied some rigs and look forward to using them this wk. Hope there's less weed at Shoreham.

Thanks Rob. Still weed at Shoreham, but last time I fished there it wasn't too bad, although there was not much interest from the fish.

That weed was a pain but who said fishing was easy? Great video again though and you make even the quiet parts interesting Rod.

Many thanks Tony. I tend to find spider crabs more troublesome than weed - a big problem this time of year on the south coast.

Have fished Whitstable, The Street and Tankerton slopes sailing club a few times but never with much success at all. I'm sure I spotted you in Oakwood Tackle shop in North London earlier this month but could be your double... Love the Whitstable coast but wish it fished better. Tight lines sir!

Yes, I sometimes use Oakwood, when I double as a coarse match angler.

Thats the one thing that's always annoyed me on thr North Kent Coast, some quality fishing to be had, but the weed can be a session killer. Good effort for trying. 👍🎣

Thanks - yes weed can be a big issue particularly at Reculver.
