  • Two, late November sessions (recorded on 25.11.20 and 27.11.20) at 'The Street', Whitstable (Kent, UK). Flatfish were caught in the first session and a couple of large fish lost; so I was eager to return, but the conditions changed for the second session, with whiting making up the bulk of the catch.

    It's been a pretty dismal week (Essex moved to Tier 4 on 20 December) so what better way to end the week than by watching this video armed with a cup of freshly brewed coffee, some oat biscuits and some strong cheddar cheese followed by a glass of brandy? Unfortunately, I can't have a cigar as well (I only smoke one every 3 or 4 months and nothing else) since I am not allowed to smoke indoors and the power cable to the desk top isn't long enough to enable me to take the desktop outside! A couple of pleasant sessions and by heck you certainly worked the second session! When we come out of restrictions / lockdown, I think I'll take a trip to Whitstable and have a go myself. Thanks for posting this and, as ever, a great video. Have as good a Christmas as you can in the circumstances and I hope all our lives are better in 2021. Cheers. Ken

    • @rodsangleuk6283
      @rodsangleuk6283  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Tony. The term refers to placing the bend of your hook in the clip of a cascade swivel and or other devices on your rig to keep everything tight and stream-lined in flight. I'll have to explain in better, with a close up, in a future video!

    I looked at the STREET on maps and wondered do you fish on one side on the flood and the other side on the ebb ? It looks as if there are great food holding areas on either side dependant on tide etc

    • @rodsangleuk6283
      @rodsangleuk6283  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mike - I fished either side and the tidal pull runs from left to right as you look out to sea. I might be wrong, but I don't think it makes a lot of difference which side you fish - but if anyone knows any different, I'd be glad to hear. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    • @rodsangleuk6283
      @rodsangleuk6283  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes Andy - that would be nice. One of the theories going around is that, with the cleaning up and clearing of the Thames estuary water, the bass have eaten the flounder fry. Thanks for watching.

      Good choice Dave. Yes - the hollow tip is shorter - its a real 'broom stick' with that attached - good for big fish, strong current, rough ground work. Mine will only get used now and again.
