Yesssssss, you caught up with the Witch and the Beast! I bought vol 1-9 a couple months ago, so I binged the series and had a mid-life crisis realizing that I had to wait for the next one. Ahhh, the art is gorgeous!
A huge motivation for me to get through my huge tbr this month was the thought of reading The Witch and the Beast haha. I just finished volume 10 and now I have to play the waiting game

You read a ton! Glad you loved The Witch and the Beast it felt like a series you would really enjoy. You had me scared there with your thumbnail of what series you were talking about. Lol.
Usually I wait to unhaul series until I film my reading log but Toriko was so bad it needed to leave immediately so I couldn’t include it in the thumbnail. But yes, The Witch and the Beast was so much fun and I’m looking forward to future volumes
I just read that the The Witch and the Beast is going on hiatus due to the artists bad health… I was looking forward to reading it but now I might wait until an update so I don’t have to be disappointed after volume 10…
Just going to preface this comment with: I was recommended this video when you have 1.63K subs and under 400 views for this specific video, Thank you TH-cam for promo-ing something so specific to my niche wants XD I was amazon shopping for Yotsuba and here is a review OwO I got Yostuba vol 1 at a heckin Scholastics book fair in 2011 so I am so glad the series has kept going ♥ and Im really glad you enjoyed the series thus far!

I could not agree with you more about the Witch and the Beast! I think it is underrated for sure. I think the covers confuse people as to the type of manga it is. I personally love the covers!
I definitely had a preconceived idea of the series based on the covers but I’m so glad I gave it a try because I had so much fun reading it
so glad you enjoyed yotsuba!! one of my favorite slice of life manga as well,, im hoping to continue kageki shoujo this month since i enjoyed the first omnibus 👁️
Slice of life isn’t my favorite genre but if all of them were as great as Yotsuba then I would read a lot more of them
That Toriko read sounds brutal... Idk how you managed 35 volumes 😱
I need to reread The Witch and The Beast cuz I fell in love with it, but wasn't really feeling the last couple volumes and idk why. With volume 10 coming in it's probably the perfect time tho
I have this completionist side of me that I’ve been trying to get rid of, it was to blame for getting so far into Toriko lol. I definitely shouldn’t have read past volume 30 since it was already terrible.
There’s a few panels in vol 8 of The Witch and the Beast that keep me up at night thinking about. My copy of volume 10 is still stuck in transit but after that I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself haha
So glad I sold my Toriko set. Everything you described makes me want to hate it lol

I love The Witch and the Beast! I had to stop reading at Vol 9 so I wouldn't start a new arc and potentially be left on a cliff hanger :')
It reminds me a lot of an older series D. gray-man if you haven't read it yet!

You should give Toriko another chance it gets better! LOLOL jkjk...... dont. I do almost wish you read it all just for more rant on it haha. But im glad you did stop also to save your poor brain. You explained it very well why I disliked Toriko. The progression is trash and I LOVE progression and training/level ups etc when done well in shonen.
Its one of the main reasons I can talk to someone about One Piece characters strengths etc for hours easily. In Toriko the skips were like Luffy fighting some above average marines and then straight to a Kaido type boss LOL.
Glad you enjoyed kageki and witch and the beast also! (I cant remember if you have or have tried Black Butler but its a good series that may check some boxes for you) PS sry for long comment!
I love reading long comments haha. I couldn’t even fit all my gripes about Toriko into the video because if I did it would take up half the reading log, but it did teach me a good life lesson about letting things (in this case, terrible manga) go. Black Butler isn’t something I’ve ever really been interested in but if it has similar vibes to The Witch and the Beast then I might have to give it a try
@@tonireadsmanga Yeah I hold onto series to collect them more haha. (though I am always selling manga lol. Easliy have over 200+ for sale atm) I do like the rants they are fun to hear!
While nothing is going to be like or ever real close to witch and the beast I think Black butler may a little. I mean victoriean era setting with forming a contract with a demon to hunt down killers etc does not sound exactly like it haha
I will guarantee you will like it more than toriko LOLOL
