This video has helped me achieve my dreams of being a IKEA dinning table. I wouldn't have done it without this inspirational video, I truly thank the Creator for this. I'm now going to school to study the arts of being a dinning table, and also I'm teaching children about how I saw this video and how it changed my life, my table skills are amazing now thanks to this.

While I’m not sure if labeling Aya as an anti hero is correct, at the end of the day she is no different from her father and her mother. Aya is cruel and not a good person by any stretch of the word. She’s a eugenicist who disguises herself as being a safe haven for those wanting to become better. And instead she takes their lives away. Even when confronted by her latest victim (the girl with green eyes; who aya noticeably compliments that feature), she doesn’t care.
She has deluded herself into thinking she’s doing good, when I reality she’s become a monster just like her parents. I like mad father a lot and part of why is because we see Aya become the very thing she defeated, and it’s foreshadowed throughout the story.

I dont even think aya was going to put a stop the curse/ stop alfred if he wasnt planning on killing her. Shes very much a product of her environment and despite knowing the suffering alfred caused she continues to perpetuate. Shes flew past morally grey aaaaaaagges ago

    > Killing people who are coming to seek medical aid and not death
    > "To some, an evil act."
SOME??? SOME??? I'M PRETTY SURE MURDERING PEOPLE WHO DON'T WANT TO DIE IS PRETTY UNIVERALLY CONSIDERED AN EVIL ACT.
    Edit: Great video though, 10/10

i remember watching old youtube going mad over all the cool rpgmaker games back then and it was so cool back then. love that you're doing a video on it.

I love RPG Maker games. They get flack for being really basic, but that's part of the charm.

    • @BlazingCyclone1337

I love the fact that they're really easy to play and the fact that you only have to think about how you play when it comes to separate endings and such. It highlights the story and the visuals more and ends up being as accessible as the amount of languages is translated to.

Creepcast be shaking in their boots with this one. And yeah gothic horror needs to be taken away from just mere aesthetic understandings. As a world literature teacher, the core of horror is not actually the jumpscare, but rather the unknown beyond the veil and how humans react to it. Sometimes, it seems like a subset of dark fantasy more than anything.

    • @graymads
      @graymads  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Gothic horror is great, I think it just suffers from being a bit to slow for most people since it requires a lot of commitment to really set itself up. Also old literature can be a slog to get through due to just how archaic some of the writing and scructuring can be.

@@graymads Agreed. If it wasn't for me explaining certain things, there's no way my students would make it through those books.

'm happy that this game is being talked about years later. However, your analysis is complete and interesting. I loved the part dedicated to Alfred but I would have preferred it to talk more about Maria and her relationship with him, for example beyond loyalty, the fear she had of him, which even she only realized at the end

one fun fact is that Mad Father, and The Crooked man are actually built in Wolf RPG Editor.
Unlike RPG maker, wolf RPG editor is completely free. In fact you could download it today to make your own game without spending a cent.
The catch is that all the documentation and tutorials for the wolf RPG editor are in Japanese.
