I saw a couple of performance clips where Zol ripped the glasses of John Sebastians face and he as rendered blind as a bat and literally had to stand in one place on stage because he couldn’t see. I was laughing hysterically at this site.

Montreal November 1966 is carved into my memory bank like no other. 80 years old and on the other side of the World today. Happy to remember saying good bye to a lovely 20 year old girl on a cold winters day at Montreal Station, making plans to meet up again and visit her again from Toronto. Chat we did on the phone many times with this song playing in the background weeks turned into Months he calls less frequent and life takes a different turn, ships passing in the night of course and fade out of sight. I used to go to these dances at a park in Thousand Oaks, California, where Casey Kasem used to host them. On one Saturday night, The Turtles, showed up to sing a few songs, including their first hit, It Ain't Me Babe. Thought it was rather interesting that both Casey, and The Turtles, would meet together again on Shebang. I graduated from Army basic training in late March 1967, and after our graduation ceremony, headed for the nearest phone booths to tell my sort of, girlfriend, the exciting news that I had graduated and was onto my next assignment, which was training to become a combat medic. Her responses were lackluster, and indifferent, and she came across as totally, blase toward me. That is when I realized it was over, if we ever were a match to begin with. I was crying on the inside when I left. Later that evening, I threw away all her cool pics she had sent me when we corresponded by mail. The following evening, Saturday, I was with a buddy in downtown El Paso and ended up in a USO. The Turtles sang, Happy Together, on national TV, and as I watched them, told myself, that if I was to be "happy together" then it was going to have to be with someone else.

Suzy Morgan-Stewart was right - 1967 time machine. Riding on my Hodaka 90cc dirt bike, just getting home from work as a Marine on Camp Pendleton, to my single-wide in a trailer park in Fallbrook, CA. Hearing the song in my head and loving the lifestyle with my high-school sweetheart bride. Life was like a juicy orange then. Florescent Leach and Electric Eddy were just starting their careers, and I was nearly a year prior to vacationing in a beautiful tropical country. The music of the 60's will never be equaled.
March 1967, I was 18 Senior in H.S. This was the very first song I heard on the radio in my 1957 Chev. 2 DR HDT. The girl who I have loved for 4 years was in my thoughts. She had no clue I lived her. I was too shy and just plain stupid to let her know my true feelings. Fast forward to Aug. 2nd 2021 our 53rd Wedding Anniversary! I am a very lucky man to have this special woman in my life.
Oh my! I remember being really very sick.... but begged to be on the couch and watch this! So---with my head on Mom's lap, we all watched the Turtles perform this live on the Ed Sullivan show.... Funny the things that one can recall from music...

I got to see Flo and Eddie back up Alice Cooper in 1974, Memphis TN. They sang this song, had no idea who they were at the time....
And Flo and Eddie sang with Frank Zappa. I saw that band in concert in Brussels in 1970.

March 1967, I was 18 Senior in H.S. This was the very first song I heard on the radio in my 1957 Chev. 2 DR HDT. The girl who I have loved for 4 years was in my thoughts. She had no clue I lived her. I was too shy and just plain stupid to let her know my true feelings. Fast forward to Aug. 2nd 2021 our 53rd Wedding Anniversary! I am a very lucky man to have this special woman in my life.
