Never tire of this. When I got past looking at the tracks 100% of the time, I noticed as it started down hill from Ospizio Bernina, you could see Poschiavo Lake, I am blown away by how much altitude the drop to get to the lake...only to drop more to Brusio and Tirano. Saving my schekels to get over there to take the train. I don't see myself taking it just once. I would like to see it in different seasons. As I began, I never tire of this.
Amazing how smooth and quiet the engine is, even climbing. And then to think of what went into the entire enterprise, the mapping and surveys, the geologists and meteorologists as well as the designers and planners and engineers and track-layers and the electrification, never mind allowing for what kind of train might travel such a route efficiently. Bravo.
This has to be one of the most impressive rides, winter and summer. Just beautiful. One issue and that’s not to this posting, but to all of RAILWAY RELAXATION POSTS, please turn on your lights in those very dark tunnels, thank you. 👍👍👍
The valley just as you head into the Grum Gallery when you look across the chasm and see the veins in the face of the cliff's and rock walls it makes you think back billions of years ago maybe they weren't there and then all of the volcanic activity that took place to form all of this. The whole place is truly splendiferous.
Очень красивый маршрут, и очень популярный, судя по многим видео разных лет. Понимая, что никогда не увижу его "вживую", продолжаю с удовольствием смотреть. Кажется, смогу уже проехать его с закрытыми глазами... Спасибо.
@@RailRelaxation As far as I understand, Alp-Grum is the upper point of the pass. Beautiful view and spectacular descent further... In general, by the relief and nature of the slopes, the Alps remind me of the Caucasus.
@@RailRelaxation I understand... I was born in Transcaucasia, I love mountains very much, but, unfortunately, I can only see Alps from videos like yours. Thank you...
Glad to see, that ABe 4/4- III are still intact, almost all fo them (Poschiavo depot - Hakone, Corviglia, Tirano, Brusio, Poschiavo, only Diavolezza is missing) and not cut into needles. Maybe those new Allegra and Unicorn EMUs are more efficient, but for me the charm of Rhb was always in the incredible diversity of rolling stock. I hope they will keep at least couple of them. Thank You for update, I am an addict of those places.
Thank you for this spectacular cabin ride over this breathtaking landscape. Is really stunning to watch again the Bernina landscape on a train ride. Thank you for the good video quality.
I believe this video is the culmination of one of the most beautiful lines ever built by man and traveled by David! Masterpiece of Swiss engineering with spiral tunnels, spiral viaducts, capable of dominating nature and the mountains in a supreme mountainous spectacle. Going over the Bernina pass is truly spectacular! This winter cabride begins in the Engadine and you can see this red railway snake climbing the snowy relief like in a model railway. When you arrive at the Bernina Hospice it seems like you are on a heavenly journey in an environment of snow and cream! The descent towards Tirano is also beautiful. Congratulations to David who is making immense efforts to map all the most beautiful railways in Europe! Excellent!!!!!!!!!

I believe the reason why this part of the Rhaetian Railway has to use 1,000 V DC overhead power is the fact the train travels into Italy, where specialized power stations for 11,000 V 16.667 Hz AC power is not available.
You would gain enormously in image quality by choosing the equivalent of “flat color” with the Gopro. The image does not have enough dynamics, the sky is burnt, but that comes from the "gopro color" profile or equivalent if another brand of camera. For the landscape you must also set the exposure correction to -1.5EV or -1, in flat color profile it does not make the image too dark, and the sky becomes normal again with the clouds well rendered... Your videos are interesting, but it would be even better without this loss of image data. THANKS
