    That last part is so true! “You’ll never make it run if you don’t try” my dad used to do scrap metal and bring home junk mowers all the time and told me never go into a carb because you won’t put it back together right…. If I didn’t try on that junk I would have never learned and had nothing to lose.

    As always cool to watch a old Honda fire up with minimal effort. Never been on or around a 200sx but have heard nothing but good about them. The whole video I was trying to get a better look at the 2 250 Big Reds parked in the back. Man i need a Big Red again. Always the best instructions for reviving old beat up , left to rust, left for dead, Honda's

      Hi, the problem is these days in the North East of England, lots of Chinese atv pit bikes in old Mining villages get taken out at night and the kids use the village as an off road track making people's lives a misery. Police now will confiscate any without documentation or conforming to standards.
      I wouldn't touch anything beyond a Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki or Kawasaki maybe a Polaris. Plus we have "many" people trawling the streets for scrap, finding an old project at a reasonable price is impossible some of the prices for ATVs from farms are ridiculously high £1,000 for a working and £300-500 spares n repair. Plus regarding atv or motorcycle theft these scum bags only need see them once and they will try and take them. It is one of the reasons I have not bought one.
      It is pretty desperate, but after my rant is a little tale of redemption for those who have had a bike or atv stolen.
      Couple of years ago a local motel whom I know the owner and night Watchmen had two gentlemen ride their beautiful Harley Davidson Dina's over from Holland.
      They park up and get some sleep as they had a meeting down south.
      Predictably, young rat boys spotted them, that night knowing what time the Watchman did his rounds they went missing.
      Watching the CCTV a transit van and 4 hoodies one brazen enough not to shield his face were seen.
      Used to taking and stripping and selling their spoils these kids must have been thinking their luck was in. Unfortunately for them the two beautiful Harley's were the property of two 1% Hell's Angels. Both were in UK for anniversary of UK chapter of HA. Plus were the "guests" of our local Chapter.
      Any sensible person seeing these expensive chromed and marked machines know it is worse to touch their rides than there women. These kids were clueless, word spread across the UK and the World in certain circles LOL.
      Next day a bunch of guys knocked politely on the adjacent villages doors. They even made it clear that if the bikes were returned in 24 hours they receive a little more respect.
      They must have gone to ground, except one who was recognised. So on the Saturday night in a busy club, some gentlemen walked in switched and they guy was joined them and graciously jumped in the boot.
      Twelve hours later the bikes were returned via a local vicar whom acted as intermediary.
      Regardless of Biker Gangs which by the way are outlawed now in Holland, it is a matter of respect, these thieves have been roaming conscious free and not working stealing people's loved and hard worked "petrol pleasures" for too long. I would have liked to see their faces where the fences whom they deal with saw these two Dina's covered in markings. Pleased to hear the two guys were able to join 3,000 other bikers that week. Plus the scum bags evacuated the village where they thought being neighbourly and making people about lives a misery tough. Decided to go missing, save one who ended up with an injured arm and a black eye. It would be nice to say the police would deal with it, that rarely happens. But I couldn't help feel justified that my stolen bike had in some way been paid back in a lesson these articles would understand. Anyway thanks, keep up the great content I love watching you.

    I just picked up a 200sx basket case! Thanks again for the suggestions as a Fat Cat style engine replacement. I'm thinking of building a TL250 looking bike with the engine. Not sure what to do with the rest of the quad though. Too many wheels for my liking 😂 Will probably make a video sprucing it up and sell the rolling chassis it to some one who will put it to good use.

    A similar type of quad to these old Honda's that I see have become more popular again are the Yamaha Moto-4's which are also just as fun. Down side is people ask too much for something in decent shape, especially in this region. As for painting the plastics, it can be done and it does look good, IF, and that's a BIG IF, it is done CORRECTLY. Which sadly people don't take the time or spend the money while doing. They just buy some cheap rattle can paint and spray it on with no prep. Then eventually it looks like the quad in your video, flaking off and looking gross. I'm going to do a paint job on my YZ 465's plastics and go with a lime green & a plum like purple color scheme.
    Because if you went with just plastic your colors choices are yellow or white, nothing else. But I don't have all of the tools and it's probably going to be $400 for just painting supplies. So it's going to be a while before it ever gets touched. That's both the upside and downside with having been trained in auto-body repair. You have ideas and want to do stuff. But you don't want to do it unless you can do it correctly and with the proper tools & supplies. Which not all of us have so it takes a while.
    Which is why the motorcycle is going to get all of the attention come spring. Out of all of my toys it's in the best shape and requires the least amount of parts to get going. Plus it's going to be alternative transportation come summer time so I'm not driving my truck everywhere. :)

    • @mrcbuilds
      @mrcbuilds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Slane583, your correct to property paint the plastic it isnt cheap, and thats the whole reason people paint them to save money vs replacing the plastic. Kinda of a catch 22. Yep this is the last will it run for awhile. I'm excited to get back to work on my favorite projects. Like you, I'm looking forward to springtime.

    • @Slane583
      @Slane583 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mrcbuilds Personally I don't mind spending the money because in the end it'll look good. Plus no one else will have one like it. But for me progress will be very slow as I have to build up my arsenal one piece at a time and some of the required tools are expensive. So for now the YZ is a long term project that will give me time to hoard parts and materials. Because of that my Honda motorcycle is top priority since all it needs is some new tires, a battery, an oil change, and some carbs. Which are all reasonably priced and easy to get. :)

      @@mrcbuilds I'm here in Virginia and around here everyone wants top dollar for their stuff and I can't justify spending money like that on something that needs work and they usually won't budge. I've been on Craigslist and Facebook and had no luck on either one

      @@tommycowger9585 Hi tommy, I search them all just like you, it just take diligence and move fast when you do see one, these last couple came from word of mouth, place a want ad on craigslist or even in a local marketplace, let people know your looking. good Luck.

    Love your videos. Just found your channel. I've been leaning towards doing something like this for my step son. But finding an abandoned 4 wheeler or something that no one wants cheap is near impossible.
    Any ideas where to get one to try and restore?
    Thanks,
    Jeff D

      Hi Jeffery, Thanks for watching and supporting the channel, its been a really fun year making the videos. I found these last 2 from a family member, I would start with friends and family, yard sales, garage sales, craigslist, FB marketplace even letgo. Bikes this bas can also be found at the scrapyard, you would be surprised mini bikes, gocarts, atv etc. can all be found at your local scrap yard. plus you pay scrap price when you buy them. Thanks again, I am happy to hear of another father/son project.

    Love the videos I've been listening to them all day while working. I have a 92 Honda fourtrax 200 type 2 any ideas to make more power out of the engine. I've rejetted from a oe main 90 to a 100 along with the pilot but don't remember what too it definitely helped with the bike running a little hot on long days. I also upgraded my sprockets, I don't want lose the exhaust because it is still my hunting rig. And we are starting to build some tracks and mud holes. Thanks

    • @mrcbuilds
      @mrcbuilds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sounds like you have covered the easy bolt on items, as for the exhaust you may wat to try a slip on, and swap it during hunting season. Next up would possibly be a cam and head work even a port and polish would help, a new top end (rings and over bore could make a few more hp) it really depends on how much you want to spend. thanks for watching, I hope I have answered your question.

    I also have an 86 200SX. It is all red plastic like like your other video. Can you comment on whether the red white and blue plastic version and the red were available at the same time or were they a mid year change? Also the rear wheels of the quad are on backwards. Great video. Thanks for what you do.

    I'd love to find a semi auto, chain drive, forward gears only engine for a future project bike. I am thinking something that looks like a Fat Cat that was made in 1975.😁 Just trying to round up a list of 185 or 200 engines I need to keep an eye out for.

      @mrcbuilds  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      HI Skylarr the best thing you can do is study the manual here; oscarmayer.net/atc/manuals/ then look up the exploded part view at www.partzilla.com between those to materials you should have a better understanding of how it all fits together, the subtrans can be aggravating, take your time and move slow, you can figure it out. I have only been in a few, and its been to long to remember. I use the same materials on every rebuild I do. good luck, you can do it.
