When I was 3 years old my grandfather bought me a 3 piece suit and took me to meet Frank Sinatra. He introduced me and Frank shook my hand. Guess I'm never allowed to piss off George Clooney. Edit: it seemed very important to my grandpa that I meet him. Don't know if this is why... but it's fun to think it is....

The ending at the airport with Clooney, Pitt and Damon was funny because the way they all said goodbye to each other were references to the actors real lives. For example when Danny told Rusty to “settle down, have a couple of kids” he was referring to how Brad and Angelina Jolie had recently adopted and conceived like 3 or 4 kids at that point.

She did a couple of good roles after this on TV like Animal Kingdom and another one that i've forgot the title where she's a Police departement Chief or something.
My favourite little detail from this film is that they might've turned Terry Benedict into a good person at the end, completely by accident. Also, there were plans for Steven Soderbergh to make an "Ocean's Fourteen" where everyone would be brought back for one final film, but he refused to make it after the passing of Bernie Mac as it wouldn't be the same without him.

George Clooney's father is Nick Clooney, who was a journalist, smaller market TV news anchor, and TV presenter, and if you see him, you'll see where George gets his looks from. His aunt Rosemary Clooney was also a famous singer back in the day.
Couple of Godfather references: when Ruben wakes up he basically quotes Don Corleone from the scene where he learns Sonny was killed on the causeway. Also: interesting that Andy Garcia was Al Pacino’s nephew in Godfather III and he is the key to taking him down here.
*Nephew, not son. I did read that he was intended to be the best part of all of the Corleones. Vito's intellect/prediction, Sonny's anger, and Michael's ruthlessness. After I read that, it made me look at the character again and pick up on all of those things.
They don’t throw away the dice! lol The dice are taken off the table periodically and calibrated to make sure they’re a) not damaged and b) haven’t been tampered with in some way. The Mormon Twins are always my favorite in these movies 😁 I have a older brother. Its so rare for a Hollywood movie to get the "brother" dynamic correct but those two always knock it out of the park! 🤣😂🤣😂
I remember watching the original Ocean's Eleven, staring "The Rat Pack". There a diamonds rating system, but they don't actually get diamonds. He would buy the diamonds, himself. Those drills are what they used to build the tunnels under the English Channel. Elon Musk is using them to build a transportation loop under Las Vegas.
Another Godfather reference was when Danny tells Bank "What I want, what's most important to me.." That's from Michael Corleone in the Italian restaurant talking to Solozzo & McCluskey.
March 1999, on the south coast of England (not even 10 miles from where I grew up), an entire lighthouse and lodgings were moved 55 feet back from the cliff. They *said* the technique they used would mean it could be moved again, eventually, with minimal disruption... but 50 feet of cliff erosion has happened in 25 years, and I don't think they thought it would be needed again so quickly
they moved a heritage 15 story building down the road 50 meters because a overpass freeway would otherwise reuire it to be demolished, they jacked it up and moved the building a few inches an hour, the ramp leading into the building had to be adjustable because they didnt even need to empty the building or stop use, people were still working in it as they moved it, once all the prep work and lifting was done, the move down the road took a week
In the mid 19th century, they lifted the entire city of Chicago. Like, literally raised buildings and sidewalks up as the city had sunk over time and was causing issues.
Between 1850 and 1870 the ENTIRETY of downtown Chicago was raised to make room for modern (for the time) sewers after a major cholera epidemic swept through the population as a result of stagnant water caused by the city's low-lying location on the shore of Lake Michigan. Buildings were routinely moved to higher elevation between 2-6ft, whilst other buildings were relocated entirely, shipped down the streets as a single unit to new sites several blocks away, with people still working and dining inside.
The Brody is messed up cuz its the nickname for the giant prosthetic nose, named after the actor Adrian Brody. My ex had a huge crush on him, so that royally pissed her off. 😂😂😂
That's funny! I never knew it was a jab at Adrian Brody. While watching today, I wondered if it was the prosthetic for Crispin Glover's nose, which inflamed some legal issues back in the 90s.
Btw, they built the entire casino on two soundstages on the Warner Bros lot. The casino entrance was built where the hospital entrance for the TV show "E.R." once stood, also on the backlot.
The actress who played Sponder is Elen Barkin. This isn't her first movie with Al Pacino. They were leads in Sea of Love. She was also in The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension, with Peter Weller, Jeff Goldbloom, and John Lithgow. The Big Easy, with Dennis Quaid, Ned Beatty, and John Goodman. Dro Dead Gorgeous, with Kirsten Dunst, Amy Adams, and Brittney Murphy. She also starred in a gender swap movie titled Switch, with Jimmy Smits, Lorraine Bracco, and JoBeth Williams.
This is one of the most uplifting movies out there despite being a real roller coaster of emotions. The plan and the reveal over the course of the movie is so well thought out it is pure joy to watch.
You guys are my favorite reaction channel I love how you both have different reactions. You have a classy, emotional, and logical down to earth view on every episode. So fun every time!
Talking about breaking through wall to get to a safe reminded me of the first time I saw that strategy in the1958 Italian film Big Deal on Madonna Street, which was remade in 2002s Welcome to Collinwood, starring George Clooney, Sam Rockwell and William H. Macy.

11 m. is so specific too they asked each other early in the movie if they would do it for 10 talking about collateral dmg.and old guy says i would for 11. such good writing and setups for little jokes.
The funny thing about Damon’s father is they say his name in Ocean’s 11, Bobby Caldwell, and in 13 if you pay close attention his father is called Agent Caldwell throughout the movie. So you can actually figure out it’s him before the reveal
I'd hoped you'd recognise the borrowed lines from The Godfather. Danny confronting Banks is dialogue inspired by the diner scene and Ruben's dialogue after he comes to, is inspired by Marlon Brando's dialogue after he returns from the hospital after getting shot.
23:40 When it comes to casino equipment measured for fairness in the hands of players, you want to swap them out (dice and cards) rather frequently, so that players cannot have a chance to mark or otherwise modify it to gain an edge. That's why earlier, the dice were in that spinning machine? Measured and tested to ensure uniform weight throughout the cube, to make sure a particular number doesn't come up more often than it should. If a player nicks or scratches it in the course of being a Craps shooter, this disturbs the weight distribution and can cause non-uniform performance, so they're VERY rigid and strict about it.
Bob Einstein (who played Linus' father) is best known to the general public for his character Super Dave Osborne whom he started portraying in the mid-'80s. In the industry however, he is far more lauded as being a prolific comedy sketch writer in the '60s and '70s. Particularly on the Smothers Brothers show. Cheadle's daredevil motorcycle stunt character in this movie is a nod to Super Dave Osborne as that character was a spoof of Evel Knievel.
I enjoyed this one. A step up and back to old form I'd say. Even though the ending in Oceans 12...the whole meet-up at the end... would have been a perfect way to end. David Paymer as "Very Unimportant Person" stole every scene he was in. Hilarious.
Suave... that's the word I'd use for the 3 Ocean's movies :) ... This one is my favourite of the 3 and the rewatch value is so damn good ! Honestly, I love Brad Pitt's looks extra handsome in these movies with those suits and shades... and he's always eating something :D
I live down the street from the Taipei 101 building, which currently has the fastest elevators in the world. It takes only a few seconds to go from level 1 to level 88. They are actually faster going up than going down.
The actress is Ellen Barkin. And yes. She IS great. Watch her in another movie with Al Pacino, Sea of Love, in Switch, Mad Dog Time, and an earlier and one of the all time great movies, Diner. Keep up the great work guys. You’re killing it.
32:35 OK, Mr. or Mrs. Simon PeggedMe - you now know what you have to change your Patreon username to for the next video. Let's see how attentive George is being on that day.
During my first run at Ocean’s 13, I was totally invested from the moment that Ruben was lying in the hospital fighting for his life. And then it was revealed that Al Pacino’s character was the man responsible for what happened to Ruben, and I wanted to see his downfall so bad. This should be a big lesson to people who want to own and run a casino: don’t be an asshole to your customers/guests. Cause it’s bad for business in my POV. Overall loved y’all’s reaction.
The second one gains a lot on rewatch, once you know the plot you can fully enjoy the dialog and acting without the distraction of the overcomplicated plot.
Ellen Barkin who plays Banks assistant has been around for years. One of my favourite films and apparently not that well known, is a comedy called Switch. Well worth watching if you can.
If you didn’t have plans to you should add “Oceans 8” which is the most recent movie in the series. It’s an all female team staring Sandra Bullock and to many more to name. It has the same feel as 13 and is really good. It’s also a good idea to watch the original “Oceans 11” from 1960 staring Sinatra and a lot of the Rat Pack.
The 3 Minutes 30 seconds should be enough in this case since remember as Danny said this is a casino/hotel for Whales (People with "F" you money). Every bet is from a "high level" and no limit bets could range from the ten thousands to millions per bet depending on the game. And it was also mentioned for opening night Bank ensured that the guests invited are people that can could ensure he clears $500,000,000 million in his first quarter or else he'll be dumped out of his own casino from the "unfriendly majority" from his board of executives.
The "earthquake machine" was just a small tunnel borer, and those are real. Of course they normally take more than one person to operate, and cost tens of millions to rent. But drive one into the foundations of the hotel and it could work as shown.
I haven't been to Vegas but I worked casinos in Biloxi Mississippi and New Orleans louisiana, and they bringing fresh dice and fresh decks of cards every shift change or whenever the pit Boss thinks it may be necessary. In fact many places you can buy casino used cards with holes punched through them so they cannot be reused in the casino. They are pretty much brand new but have a hole in them and are cheaper.
Love this film, maybe even more than the first two. It’s so much fun and just enjoyable every time. When you have great writing, great Directing, and an All Star cast, you get movie magic.
My favorite one. I could put this on anytime to watch directly or have on in the background, and I'm always satisfied. P.S. George Clooney loved poking fun of this movie when it came out, especially because his other movie that year, Michael Clayton, was running all over the awards circuit.
Indeed.. got a set of poker cards from the Stratosphere casino with clipped edges so they could easily spot it if you tried to bring those back to the table.
Have you seen White Collar? It’s a 6 season long TV show that I think you might enjoy. It’s got a little more social engineering and suave behavior than similar shows
The 'earthquake' machine actually isn't as sci-fi as it seems. It's easy to miss, but they explain that each one is a drill that dug the Chunnel from each side, Britain and France.
Al Pacino played the bad guy on a super alpha level, and everybody else did a great job acting. Perfectly edited, great humor, awesome style, this is the best caper movie ever.
In Oceans Eleven they made an EMP.. In Oceans Twelve? They lifted a building. And in Oceans Thirteen? They made an Earthquake. These fellas ARE literally disasters. Lol
"You shook Sinatra's hand, you should know better. "
Best running line in the movie
It’s also a callback to the original Ocean’s Eleven film which stared Sinatra and the Ratpack.
"I know people who can really hurt"
"I know all the people you know. They all like me more than you."
I love that exchange so much 😂

I live down the street from the Taipei 101 building, which currently has the fastest elevators in the world. It takes only a few seconds to go from level 1 to level 88. They are actually faster going up than going down.
I love the attention to detail, they mention the 11 million they were giving the guy early in the movie.
"What I want. What's most important to me..."
Michael to Solozzo.
Danny to Banks
The actress is Ellen Barkin. And yes. She IS great. Watch her in another movie with Al Pacino, Sea of Love, in Switch, Mad Dog Time, and an earlier and one of the all time great movies, Diner.
Keep up the great work guys. You’re killing it.

Let's see how attentive George is being on that day.
"In caaaaaaaaaaaaaash." is my most regularly used quote form this entire franchise.
Elevators in the Willis Tower, Chicago, operate as fast as 1,600 feet (488 meters) per minute
I love that George is an avid Stormlight fan.
The GILROY is named for a town in California named Gilroy, known for their annual Garlic Festival.
The Spanish is actually pretty good in the Mexico scenes 😂
Fender Rhoades!!! I'm a goddamn American Icon!!!
I love Eddie Izzard. Super funny and you get a history lesson too
The "earthquake machine" was just a small tunnel borer, and those are real.
13:02 Super Dave!!
I Found all three Oceans movie's by curiosity, and I found that the second just felt soooo out of world. And then this third one saved it for me.
Love this film, maybe even more than the first two. It’s so much fun and just enjoyable every time. When you have great writing, great Directing, and an All Star cast, you get movie magic.
Finally, a unaltered pic of Simone in the thumbnail.
My favorite one. I could put this on anytime to watch directly or have on in the background, and I'm always satisfied.
P.S. George Clooney loved poking fun of this movie when it came out, especially because his other movie that year, Michael Clayton, was running all over the awards circuit.
Super Dave Osborne is Linus dad he was a comedy fake stuntman from the 80s
RIP Marty Funkhouser
Plus, he’s the brother of Albert Brooks.
The nose plays is a goated line
Typically all the dice and cards and such are resold by casinos. They clip or mark them in some way so they can't be reused again!
Indeed.. got a set of poker cards from the Stratosphere casino with clipped edges so they could easily spot it if you tried to bring those back to the table.
I worked at Ponte Vedra Inn and Club for 6 years. It's a AAA 5 Diamond resort.
Yes. The ratings exist.
The man who stare at goats...best Clooney movie.
Definitely one of his funniest roles, next to Burn After Reading
Oh my god that movie is so weird, and hilarious! Would love to see that reaction
Have you seen White Collar? It’s a 6 season long TV show that I think you might enjoy. It’s got a little more social engineering and suave behavior than similar shows
still one of my favorite moves, 11 and 13. such a great heist movie.
Now do Logan Lucky!!! Another great heist movie by the same director
Slot machines at the airport, yep, that's definitely Las Vegas 😄
The 'earthquake' machine actually isn't as sci-fi as it seems. It's easy to miss, but they explain that each one is a drill that dug the Chunnel from each side, Britain and France.
This movie is so good I might actually like it better than the first one lol
The Mexico plotline is hilarious
I have the prop shuffle Royale machine from the movie on a shelf in my living room.
Al Pacino played the bad guy on a super alpha level, and everybody else did a great job acting. Perfectly edited, great humor, awesome style, this is the best caper movie ever.
Another banger Soundtrack 🤘
