The "Fat guy in a little coat..." bit came from the days when they shared an office at SNL. Chris Farley would always prank David Spade or try to make him laugh and he put his coat on one day and started singing. Makes me happy that it was something from their real life together. RIP Chris Farley.
Ahh. Eat me to it haha. Yeh I could imagine them staying up writing for SNL and Chris Farley doing the dance, and David Spade just like oh gos not again
the "housekeeping" bit was a real thing spade would do to farley as well.. iirc it was something he did at the hotel during filming and they said they should put it in the movie
I went to Marquette University with Chris Farley, same communications program but he was a year ahead of me. He was legendary on campus. The opening scenes with him in his Marquette Rugby shirt at the party...THAT'S REAL!!!
It’s funny you asked if he’s gonna be the black sheep of the family, because Chris Farley and David Spade both star in a movie called black sheep where Farley is the black sheep of his family
A minor spelling correction: The male exotic dancers are "Chippendales." Named after the fine furniture maker from the late 1700s, Thomas Chippendale (the dancers wanted to sound classy). "Chip n' Dale" the Disney cartoon chipmunks introduced in the 1940s, who later had a TV show in the 90s, were named after the furniture, as well. Just FYI. :)
After listening to a recent interview with Spade I had more of an appreciation for this movie. Micheals refused to give them time off from their SNL job to make the film so they would fly daily to the set of the film and then back to NY to get ready for SNL. They did this the entire time the film was being made according to Spade.
The script was also only like 35 pages long when they started shooting lol its why so much of this movie is just Spade and Farley's usual real life antics. The director just took it from real life and put it into the film.
@@Mwoods2272 George Carlin once said that Micheal's is a "hands and knees c**k sucker". He hosted the very first episode of SNL and never came back (and that was the peak of his Co**ine use).
That movie’s so weird, because in my head it’s just Tommy Boy again with a different family business, but I know I’m just misremembering a movie I’ve seen like twice
This is without a doubt the most joyful reaction I've ever seen to Chris Farley. I always love seeing how he touches everyone's heart and I miss him so much.
The story you read at the end was talked about on Spades podcast he has w Dana Carvey,, they had Rob Lowe on as a guest and talked about it,, Spade and Farley were great friends and made up very quickly
The 90's were a tough time for me as my favourite band was Nirvana and my favorite comedy actor was Chris Farley, losing both in similar circumstances was horrible but it did teach me that sometimes the person responsible for so much joy in the world can be badly hurting inside. I feel happy though that this movie and Nirvana's music always attracts new fans so Kurt and Chris's legacy will always live on
"He's a big dumb animal, isn't he folks?" Love Spade's cutting barbs. They tried to pair David Spade up with a few other plump comedians after Farley's passing but none ever had the chemistry of Chris and Dave 😅 Try Lost & Found, with David Spade and Sophie Marceau and a very cute dog.
They also tried pairing Farley with others after he and Spade had their falling out (over Farley's self abuse). Chris Rock and Matthew Perry - definitely didn't work.
FYI, Beverly is played by Bo Derek, a famous model/actress of the 70's and 80's best known for her role in the 1979 film "10" - hence the joke where Tommy says, "Dad, she's like a 10." In her prime she was labelled the most beautiful woman in the world. ;)
This is not only a Top 5 comedy for me, it's one of those comfort movies that I return to again and again over the years, and me and my friends have pretty much memorized. It's such a perfect mix of silly comedy and genuine heart. Chris Farley most definitely left us far too soon. Check out Adam Sandler's recent tribute song to him, it's really touching stuff.
I was in Kindergarten when Chris Farley died, my parents picked me up from school that day and told me. I asked how he died and they told me that it was because he was very overweight. If they had told me the truth my life might be different...
That scene where Beverly comes out of the pool is a reference to the movie "10" in which Bo Dererk makes the exact same exit from another body of water.
Adam Sandler (and Dan Ackroyd) pay homage to Chris Farley with a little easter egg in “50 First Dates.” Drew Barrymore’s character visits a clinic called the “TB Callahan Institute” - an obvious reference to Tommy Boy Callahan. Another great touching comedy.
Fun Fact: When Tommy Boy said that "Beverly looks like a 10", that is a callback to a movie actress Bo Derek did in the late 70s, early 80s movie called 10 which co-starred Dudley Moore.
Chris Farley was so fun to grow up with in these movies and on SNL. I recommend looking up the SNL skit "Van down by the river" if you get the chance. It stars both Chris Farley and David Spade and is a classic.

I know my post won't be seen, but I just have to say I miss chris Farley, so much, he was so amazing. He could have done so much more. He was my hero and I cried when he died.
The father was also the crooked marshal in Silverado. The setting of the story was what happened to what is known today as the rust belt when all our manufacturing was sold out and shipped overseas. Good reaction.
I've been wondering for a while why the little kid in the boat scene (middle) looks so familiar. I just Googled it and found out that it's Dov Tiefenbach who played the University stoner with the huge bag of weed in Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, almost 10 years later!
When Farley died my Junior year of High School it really tore me up because I idolized him. My friends and I used to quote him and do his skits and in a weird way it was kind of a wake up call that your heroes are real people with real problems. Sandler did a great tribute to him really worth a watch! Great reaction to a classic.
I LOVE y'a'lls reactions. Even though, I scream at George, at least once a video, to just watch the movie and quit trying to guess the entire plot! LOL! Don't change a thing though. You guys are great!

As a massive fan of this movie this is some of the best editing to a reaction I've ever seen. Nailed every single moment I wanted to see a reaction to while not ruining it for other people or getting a strike. There are so many moments too. Can't believe you were able to cut it down to 31 minutes.
This was the magic of Chris Farley that is so hard to describe. He has this fun energy about him that is just so infectious. But more than that which makes him so beloved is that he really is a great actor that knows how to be serious and really feel for the character. He is not a dumb Peter Griffin, he is a Homer Simpson who has a big heart.
One of the real tragedies of his death is that we never got to see him explore that potential. He had a couple of “serious” films in development when he passed, including a Fatty Arbuckle biopic. I think with some training he could have been a pretty effective dramatic actor.
This movie is a mainstay in my household. My dad and I watch this every year, and it’s been that way since I can remember. My brother and I always quote “Brothers don’t shake hands, brothers gotta hug!!” I love seeing yall laugh as much as you did this reaction, great work
One of my favourite animated films of all time is The Emperor’s New Groove (2000) starring David Spade, John Goodman, Patrick Warburton, and Eartha Kitt. They all hit it out of the park, it’s hilarious, and you should consider watching it at some point. Thanks for making videos eh.
The highly detailed description of the fight is practically verbatim from a description Spade gave in an interview. It's on YT, and by chance I saw it like a week ago.
What are you talking about??!! What is with everybody and their obsession with saying “underrated??” Why is everybody calling everything “underrated” all the time
For almost 25 years I have travelled for work as an engineer doing custom machining sales in one capacity or another. This movie is gospel for all of my generation who have done such. It is even better that I covered WI, IL, IN, OH, and MI for some time which is the heart of where they went.
It warmed my heart to see you both crack up at Fat Guy in a Little Coat. Chris Farley was so naturally funny. I’m lucky to have been at the right age to grow up watching him. Hope you’re able to access some of his SNL sketches. And that you’ll post those reactions if you do!
"P,T&A" also had some real heart, especially at the end. I agree how the two films have their similarities, though I had honestly never put them together in that way, before.
It's funny that you mentioned being a "black sheep" there's a movie with David Spade and Chris Farley starring in it ....called "Black Sheep"....you should check it out too.....
This movie and a few others like Billy Madison were critically sh!t on when they came out and did moderately well at the box office, then everyone got them on video and they became beloved classics. Comedies like this started doing really well after this, Sandler made a lucrative career from it and it sucks that Farley didn't stick around and reap the successes.
I’m so glad that George recognized Brian Dennehy as Sheriff Will Teasle from First Blood. this film has so many silly laugh out loud moments. Love it:)
There's two moments I think of A Lot from this movie 1. When he's freaking out in the guys office saying he wants to drive the car into an enbankment and pulling his hair up (I been feeling like that A Lot, esp the last few years) 2. "Step two is washing it off" I don't get to use it much, but whenever someone isn't taking the obvious next step or whatever, I got that line ready for use, lol
Those two were very close friends and sometimes fought like brothers. The story you read after the movie was often recounted by Spade himself, who thought Farley’s jealousy (regarding Lowe) was funny.
One of my all time favorites! I grew up watching it many times on TV. Almost every weekend I’d be able to catch some mixture of this, Billy Madison, and/or Happy Gilmore. Also, on an unrelated note, I happened upon another fan of the channel in the wild! I’m in eastern Pennsylvania, in a relatively small town, so it was quite the surprise. You’re celebrities!
Great reaction! Farley and Spade had unbelievable chemistry together. As Spade said once, “the characters really made the movie. You couldn’t pitch this idea nowadays: Two guys driving around Ohio selling brake pads.” Fun Fact: Brian Dennehy (Big Tom Sr.) also played David Spade’s dad on Just Shoot Me!
So funny that right in the beginning you used the term, “Black Sheep” which is literally the name of the next movie these two starred in together, which now is a MUST watch for your channel.
“Cow Tipping” if you actually tried it would turn out exactly how it did to Tommy Boy. It’s like “Snipe Hunting” sounds fun but isn’t real. Just take the new guy on the farm to try it
This has two of the funniest random moments. First is David Spade going into the planes restroom and immediately coming out, and the second is the hair flying off of his head, and the embarrassing anger from him sells it. This film helped me understand the fundamentals of selling. The customer is buying *you*, not the product.
This is probably my most favorite Chris Farley movie. And you can see a lot of SNL bits on TH-cam. Farley was so energetic that many of the crew he worked with on there would break - especially Spade.
The "Black Sheep" comment definitely hits, a popular idea in the movie, hence the next David Spade & Chris Farley movie the following year, "Black Sheep". Farley was amazing and unfortunately had his personal demons with drugs and general thought was he was constantly trying to be the wild and funny guy, one habit would feed the other. Many have compared him to being the next John Belushi in both personal and performing aspects. Belushi was yet another one to succumb and lose his battle with addiction. Both SNL Alumni too.

So funny that right in the beginning you used the term, “Black Sheep” which is literally the name of the next movie these two starred in together, which now is a MUST watch for your channel.
Herbie Hancock is a jazz musician. Some of his most known songs include Cantaloupe Island, Watermelon Man, and Chameleon.
I’m on my way to work and haven’t even watched this yet, and I’m already so excited!
This is one of my favorite movies EVER.
Its funny that you mentioned Black Sheep at the beginning. That is another great Chris Farley movie!
“Cow Tipping” if you actually tried it would turn out exactly how it did to Tommy Boy. It’s like “Snipe Hunting” sounds fun but isn’t real. Just take the new guy on the farm to try it
This is one of those comedians that has the rare ability to be genuinely heartbreaking one moment then gut busting hilarious the next
This has two of the funniest random moments. First is David Spade going into the planes restroom and immediately coming out, and the second is the hair flying off of his head, and the embarrassing anger from him sells it. This film helped me understand the fundamentals of selling. The customer is buying *you*, not the product.
What's funny is that you mentioned Tommy being a black sheep. Spade and Farley both play in a movie called Black Sheep, where Farley is a black sheep.
The actor who plays Tommy's father , was also in : First Blood as the sheriff & Cocoon 1&2
Nobody notices David Spades character stayed way after the funeral also. he wasn't friends with Tommy at that point, but loved his dad.
Yeessss! I'm so happy yall got a chance to see this movie, it's one of my all-time favorites! My sister and I quote it all the time lol
This is probably my most favorite Chris Farley movie. And you can see a lot of SNL bits on TH-cam. Farley was so energetic that many of the crew he worked with on there would break - especially Spade.
A Fish Called Wanda might be a good one for you guys to check out.
