@@douwe3300 slickshot show-off. It's a 1R 1/2 from OTJ. It has flying, haste, and gets +2/+0 whenever you cast a noncreature spell. And it has plot 1R.
not really sure where the new cards gonna fit into a gruul list but it may just be good enough to make mono red prowess a thing

It was worth skimming through a very slow match 4 just to see that wild Soul-Scar Mage + Vizier of Remedies interaction.
Hard to imagine that not playing Manamorphose is correct.
Its not that hard to imagine. Every card in the deck has a purpose and manamorphose doesn't do anything better than those cards. Abundant harvest is better at finding what you need and is cheaper to play.
@@michaelsimpson1761 An extra prowess/surveil trigger and an instant in the graveyard for Fugitive Codebreaker/Bedlam Reveler for very little opportunity cost. I can imagine that a full playset is not ideal but I've played mono red prowess before and it was one of the best cards in the deck.

Why not use Pick your Poision in the mirror where they can outgrow the damage based removal spells?

Nah atarkas command is for go wide agressive decks we arent really going wide most of these games.
Sacred foundry is for prismatic ending.
i dunno how this compares to the anarchomancer spike deck in the current meta, both seem/are fun to play (anarcho is fun to play, i tested it a lot). The matches were kinda off meta so hard to say for this version really
So weird, I was playtesting some prowess last night; green looks like a really cool addition, almost a bogle deck if you go the hexproof/“must be blocked” route

It's a win more, mostly. It's a dead draw after a wrath, card disadvantage vs removal, etc. it's a win more.

Plus Lava Dart isn't exactly great after a wrath unless your opponent is at exactly 2.
"But lava dart is great with prowess", one might say.
Well, so is Scale Up. In fact, even with 2x prowess creatures on board, Lava Dart + flashback deals the same amount of extra damage as Scale Up with 1 prowess creature.

i would never bin lightning bolts like the yawg matchup. yawgs weakness is lifetotal

The card just isn't good enough anymore. There is no card in the deck you would cut in favor of it.
Chalice is more relevant than ever. Despite rhinos falling off the radar.
why not run monstrous rage instead of crash through?
The text draw a card. This gruul deck isnt trying to end the game as fast as possible. It CAN have those draws but think of it less as mono red aggro splashing green and more of a red green midrange deck. I think monstrous rage would lean more towards a kiln fiend izzet deck rather than this deck.
I just realized you have no Forests and you're packing Blood Moon. Would it not make more sense for at least one of your basics to be a Forest in such a case? Otherwise you're relying on getting Jegantha out and it lasting a turn in order to start casting green cards at all.
Not really tbh. Every land in this deck should be a mountain for lava dart, and actually casting green spells isn’t that useful. The main ones are questing Druid and abundant harvest, and both can likely be sided out when you bring in the blood moon. Maybe it is different on gruul prowess, but on izzet, RUG, RUW, or 4c (what I am on right now) you can’t afford non mountains
Remember when Abundant Harvest came out and almost every Historic deck was just jamming it? That was weird.

@@topadahoodin any matchup you would bring blood moon in, the opponent would be dead before he would ever need to cast a green spell bc it would shut them down
@@int3r4ct good point but there’s times where you bring in blood moon and it hurts their mana but doesn’t totally shut them down and one basic forest isn’t that bad for your mana
