    The most amazing thing after 20k in a Taycan is how effortless the car is. The charging at home and about is never an issue. All Porsche owners get a card which gives you a discount at the Ionity stations so never cost so far more than £17 to charge. The ride quality I always say is the car in normal mode just levitates across the surfaces. The grip levels on the road are insane. The traction both in the dry and wet are to be frank insane. If Joe did the Porsche experience day in one he would be even more surprised what the car can do. The Tubo and Tubo S are just to quick for the road. The 4S is the pick for me, performance / range / comfort. Mine was the saloon but a Sport Turismo is now the best option! If you get out of a Taycan into say a BMW i4 M50, the BMW is nearly as quick but the steering is numb by comparison and the traction is nowhere near as good. But it is £40K less to buy optioned up. The Porsche is the best EV you can buy. Also loses no money over time so far! 4S range 220mile in winter up to 295 in the summer based on 14 months in the car! Quickest charge 10% to 90% in 17 minutes!

    Excellent review Joe and as always. I'm now into my 2nd Taycan Turbo S. The 1st was the saloon and now it's the Cross Turismo as of January this year.
    Range? on 85% charge as recommended by Porsche in the saloon version the lower PCM screen indicated 185 miles. In my current Cross Turismo and with 85% charge again the PCM shows 158 miles. Yes the 8 and 5 are swapped over. Ok the seats have a massage function and there's about every option fitted to it (as was the saloon), why a 27 mile deficit for this shooting brake version? As you say though without a home charger it would be difficult to live with.
    Utterly outrageous acceleration for both and I can't tell a difference between the two.
    Thanks for the review. Great as always. Simon

    Remember that electric _is_ fossil fuel (in Oxfordshire at least)... I really don't understand why more effort isn't being put into bio-fuel/e-fuel. The fuelling network already exists for it, so you don't have any range anxiety. Could you do a video looking at the reality of electric cars??

    • @rezhaadriantanuharja3389
      @rezhaadriantanuharja3389 ปีที่แล้ว

      The engines in power plant run much closer to their best efficiency point and we can actually make some changes to run them on the so called bio fuel, so the concept of electric car and bio fuel does not necessarily be separate. But even so, bio fuel have their challenges as well e.g. storage (water separation, biological growth on surface, etc.), and biofuel compete directly with foods for lands to grow. On the surface it may look like one is clearly better than the others but once we go to detail it’s much more complicated.
      I personally think that if we manage to create carbon neutral and sustainable battery life cycle, it will put an end to any internal combustion engine conversation, bio fuel or not.

    While I don’t have a Taycan, I do have an electric car through work. In September, I swapped my BMW 335d for a VW id3 pro due to being offered what is effectively a free car thanks to current BIK rates on electric. My summary from my admittedly limited experience across models is to stay well clear of electric for a number of reasons. First off is range, mine is rated at 220ish miles which on the face of it sounds great however when it gets cold, it drops to as low as 175! I charge at work but do not have a charger at home which means over the weekends I’m constantly looking for public chargers. As Joe pointed out, they are often broken but also damn the expensive for the pleasure of wasting an hour of life… Trust me, this gets old very quickly. Beyond this, the car is dead to drive. For someone who lives cars, I’ve found nothing enjoyable about driving electric beyond slightly above average acceleration for the equivalent car. Save yourself the trouble and don’t do it! Rant over 😅

    The support network for EV's is absolutely rubbish! I spent 2 hours waiting at a service station to charge one! And the cost of charging one is the same or more than petrol. And where do we all think electricity comes from? Lol.. 😂🙈

    Premium price EV, not worth it, because EV has no uniqueness. Fuel is expensive now, but EV's public charging stations are not cheap at all (expect Tesla for now), sometimes you even have to pay the parking fee, ridiculous.

    I barely even watch any EV reviews, generally repulsed by the whole thing. Watching your take just reinforced that. Generating my energy as-needed with a gasoline or diesel mill is the way to go, at least for the foreseeable future. Maybe a 48V electric boost, but that's about it. The M240i Xdrive is looking like a riot, thanks for that review. I'd take that over this Taycan any day.
