    It was interesting and informative and enjoyable for sure to watch!!!!!
    The bin project. Wow. What a project this has been. You had lots of equipment in that hole all at once. And then you all were fighting the moisture problem. Glad you got your drainage pipe put down and pulling the water off the bin floor, so to speak. Now that you have the gravel in there and it packed good, it looks pretty darn good. Lots of hard work there by all of you!!!!!!
    Nice work everyone!!!!!!!!
    Thanks for everything Chet and crew.

    Chet, if you were farming in sand like i did in central Wisconsin you would have to add employees and have millions in pivots and irrigation.
    We worked all day farming and then slept in the pickups so we could move water winches every 3 or 4 hours all night long.
    We use to farm almost 6k acres of cukes, for pickles and multiple kinds of peppers.
    Peppers started in green houses.
    Plus yellow dent corn, green beans, alfalfa and even clover, rye and oats sometimes.
    You strugle with the wet, but i think you still have it better.

    Look into Geotextile fabric to put on the clay before you put the sand in. It gives structure to sand and it will not allow the sand to sink into the fine clay particles

    Hey guys, retired road builder/operating engineer. If the building pad doesn't work out, starts spewing water it should be undercut, Geo tech fabric for stabilization, at least 2' of 1x3" CC or Limestone (best), then fines to lock it all together for building base. DO NOT use the vibratory on the sheep foot roller. Static roll only to get compaction/density at first. Gradually start using vibratory after you have about 1' of fines covering the 1x3". Don't go crazy with it though and you'll get your density/compaction. Switch to a smooth drum roller to finish roll if ones available.
    You can also hire a density guy if desired. They'll pound a cone, then work with yuh on site density testing. Good luck.
    Great channel guys!

    You all going round and round in that hole bought back to mind a 'working' display that they had in the Science Museum in London when I was a child which had model tractors going round 'preparing the ground' on the farm, ploughing, tilling & rolling. :O

  • @jdiggindirt
    @jdiggindirt หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Also when it is that wet you only need to roll it. Because the moisture content is high therefore when you roll it it will compact

  • @donwestbury6251
    @donwestbury6251 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    For soft spots while still close to the bottom of the hole use geotextile fabric then 18" of gravel then repeat. If you still have a soft spot use a piece of the fabric much larger than the wet spot and some large rock, something like one man rip-rap mixed with Clay and smaller gravel over the fabric.

    Chet run the roller with out the vibration on for the first 4 to 5 feet of fill with the stuff you’re using for fill is already at about 80% compaction as long as there’s water coming in that roller vibration will bring the water up you gotta get the water sealed off
