- I was going to work on some new stuff this week, but then the friendly neighborhood youtube algorithm distracted me. So I ended up shrinking all my sprites ...

They're sooo cute. This reminds me of how some RPGs shrink the player's character (or just remove details) when in the massive open world parts of the game, and expand / add details when you are in cutscenes or when the camera is close up.
I thought a lot about Zelda The Minish Cap when I was working on these designs. Even though in the game Link is shrunk to only three or four pixels, I think, which was a bit too small even for me
so cute! i like the tiny sprite idea, having multiple views for my characters myself, tho i went into the opposite direction, with rpg style sprites first and then almost graphic novel sprites. i might try this myself. also the shrinkinator was cool, and i love your level of animation.
Yeah, I was thinking about bigger sprites or maybe portraits too. But I don't know how I feel about that, tbh. For one thing, I haven't found a suitable style yet and for another, I don't want to get too specific with the characters. I'd really like to keep it a bit on the abstract side and leave the rest to the imagination. Might change my mind about that though ...
You should see the ones made by pixel papi he does 8x8
great tipp! subbed.
Hi Jacob! Art is awesome, liked it even more with tiny sprites. What program are you using to edit your videos?
Hi Zendrael, great to see you again! Making those tiny sprites was really a fun little exercise. I'm currently using Premiere Pro, even though it's a bit overkill for my needs at the moment.
honey, i shrunk the sprites
Honestly, the original title of this video xD
