Pixel Portrait gone wrong ... kinda

I tried to draw a portrait of my pixel character ... it did not go as I had planned.

i think the end result looks very fitting since it doesnt give away too much detail and information about the characters facial expression and emotions if you know what i mean! i really like it

In my own game, I'm having a similar issue. There is a certain charm to the smaller sprites. What I'll be doing is using the same sprite, but doubling it's size for the dialog scenes. That way I don't have to change the character in any way. I think this would work for you characters nicely. I will say, I personally liked the 21x21 pixel sprite you made and I think it fits.

Yeah, I think the 21p portrait has some potential. It's not quite there yet. But with a bit of care, it could be pretty neat.

I agree that the 31x31 version sort of ruins the whole vibe Aber had going on, but I think the 21x21 version does strike a good balance between leaving the design vague while also upscaling it, that one's good

Are you on tablet or pc? Which pixel art program are you using and is it available on mobile and iOS?

On desktop. I use Piskel, which does not have a mobile version.
