They should've made that Doc Brown scene part of a running gag. Wouldn't it have been hilarious if you rewatch the movie, BTTF 3 is going on in the background?
@clevelandcbi I know sometimes Seth let's people in on the joke. Like Marlee Matlin with the deaf jokes. I really hope that was the case here but I'm afraid it might not be.
@@matthewpaul6904Or Seyfried obviously with the big eye jokes. Her going face to face with Gollum in Ted 2 was hilarious. Even Mark Wahlberg said he read the script and got nervous😂
I watched this movie back in 2014 and to this day that Doc Brown cameo is my fave cameo of anything ever 😁 The fact that Andrew made that joke just before it happened, though, omg 🤣
Charlize Theron still had a shaven head from filming Mad Max Fury Road and wore a wig the whole time. She and Liam Neeson also had guest roles on The Orville with Seth.
Seth MacFarlane is such a talented guy. As someone who isn’t that that into Family Guy or American Dad, I’d encourage everybody to check out his other works. I had never really watched/read any sci-fi before I stumbled across his more recent show, The Orville. I absolutely love the show and it sparked an interest in the sci-fi genre for me. I’m also excited to check out the Cosmos series he produced that features Neil deGrasse Tyson. Plus, the dude can singgggg.
And he can sing while in a character's voice as well. He does it all the time in Family Guy and American Dad, and he also did it as the mouse character (I cannot recall the name off the top of my head) from the movie Sing.
Seth did a Carpool Karaoke segment for Apple TV with Ariana Grande. They sang show tunes. He also recorded an album with Liz Gilles via Zoom during the Pandemic. Liz appeared in a season 3 episode of The Orville.
1:07:54 One thing you're forgetting about that moment, she wasn't alone with him. Not really. The rest of the gang walked away and left them some space, but they'd have still be close enough that had she shot him, she'd have never gotten away. So as much sense as it might make to just kill him it fails to account for her wanting to live so she could see, and be with, Albert again. Not to mention the fact that she's not a stone cold killer the same way that Clinch was. We don't see her kill anybody the whole film, so it wouldn't fit her character as we had seen it up to that point. 1:08:10 That scene was less for the audience and more to continue to display what an awkward doofus Albert was at his core. 1:08:41 The movie wasn't about them though. Also the movie studio may have made them cut the length of the film down to only be so long (which is quite common), so there may have been some stuff cut from the film either before filming, or after, that wasn't fixed with story edits. That would also explain how Ruth knew Anna without them having been shown meeting. Then again we don't see Ruth at the dance, but Edward was shown there so it is entirely possible they got introduced then. Or some other time off camera during the many days that passed by either in montage or just skipped over entirely for keeping the story moving.
Yes, logically, Anna should have shot Clinch, but then that would have made her a cold-blooded murderer. Yes, there’s an argument to be made for self-defense, but only before she knocked him out cold. You can’t have your heroine/hero be a killer. That’s storytelling 101.
"Dude, have you ever had sex???" *"Well, there was some shit with my uncle..."* 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 - I literally spit out my popcorn. So glad nobody was in front of me.
I love this movie, but more than this movie, I love Seth MacFarlane. I love everything he does and creates. He's the kind of writer and artist I aspire to be.
To answer your question, cameras had a much longer exposure time back in the day--any movement within, like, thirty seconds would make the picture come out blurry. Cameras being rarer back then, you wouldn't want to mess up your photo, so people tended to keep rigid, unsmiling poses simply because it was easier to hold for longer periods of time 😊
They used to stay stone faced in pictures because it took so long for a photo to be taken. Nobody could keep one expression for the entire exposure time.
7:23 because of how long it took to take a photo. By the time they took the photo your face would be tired and you’d look uneasy. 45:34 yes he did . He was Patrick Warburton’s lover during Ted’s party when Flash Gordon showed up. 1:08:59 i completely forgot about the Doc Brown scene.
I think the reason they usually didn't smile in old photographs was because of the technology at the time, required they stand as still as possible while the image was captured. Holding a smile must have not been recommended just incase the image came out distorted and horror-inducing.
even early cameras didn't take all that long, the main reason people didn't smile in photographs is because they were seen as a cheaper way to have a portrait done, so you would approach it with the same attitude as if you were posing for someone to paint your portrait which in the European based culture of the time was considered a serious matter
Ok, this might be a good reason why she didn't kill his husband: It would be murder, and she would be tried and hanged. For some reason, if you do it in a duel in front of a lot of people, it doesn't count. Also not everyone can kill in cold blood. Usually that's what a psychopath does.
I love this film, this shows the high quality around raunchy with a good story, like that's my boy. Also must say I love the two very specific westerns that came to their minds cameo here 😂😂
I didn't expect much when seeing this the first time, waited to rent it didn't see it in theaters.......but my god was it funny as hell!!!! The writing was supreme and the outtakes just show how much fun was had on set, really with Seth MacFarlane would direct more movies. Really got a strong Mel Brooks vibe from this and I feel he could easily keep cranking out high quality comedies if given the chance
In terms of why she didn't shoot Clint after knocking him out. The men they were with are still close by... Not within earshot that they would hear the conversation but they would definitely hear a gunshot and come to where they were, seen Clint was dead and just shot her dead.
If you liked some of the dramatic bits as much as the comedy then I would very much recommend Seth's _The Orville._ It pretty much flips the ratio of drama to comedy.
This film is underrated imo , sure the comedy can be a bit childish but the serious scenes with Seth and Charlize are great and it’s a wholesome film with good life lessons.
I know in movies it's easy to be logical and say "she should have just killed him" and then say "it's because of the plot" etc etc But maybe, she's just not a killer, at least not in cold blood with an unconscious man. I mean she could have just poisoned Foy, but she just gave him a laxative.
People rarely smiled in old West photos because the exposure time was several minutes and you had to hold your position or you'd end up with blurry pics.
Seeing Django was the best cameo But u guys should of watched the extended It’s 20 minutes longer with more cameos like Kaley Cuoco & u see how Albert’s mom died
40:12 I was invited to a 21st, many years ago, and it was cowboy themed. I showed up as Doc Brown (white hair, white suit, homemade controller etc.) and I feel like not enough people appreciated (not to mention understood) my costume. I still think about that aha
The ballad buster scruggs, It's a masterpiece! (An anthology containing six short films all occurring in 19th-century post-Civil War America during the settling of the Old West.)
The reason nobody smiled in old pictures is because of how long the exposure time was. If your facial expression changed it would smear the picture and make you blurry.
on the photo's in the movie they said 30 seconds, but often you could take up to minutes, hell they some times put you in a metal frame to help keep you in place. The idea is you have to keep the smile that long even 30 seconds might be a bit much and move.
Seth Macfarlane pointed out in an interview for this movie that giant mustaches like the one NPH had were clearly penis substitutes. He said and I quote “The idea back then was that if you had a big bushy mustache you had a big bushy….but you see that’s never the case.”😂😂
Kevin's Smith's Hollywood Babble On buddy. There was an episode of HBO where Ralph had the moustache. He referenced that he was filming Seth MacFarlane's new movie set in the old west. He said he would "shave the moustache, get a haircut, and be all pretty again."
It was nice to see Doc Brown, but I do wish they gave him & McFarlane an actual scene to share, or possibly make Doc Brown the town blacksmith or something that Albert needs to buy something from. Otherwise, that scene was more of a post-credit scene. Also GREAT that McFarlane has his little ensemble. Also, LOVED seeing Ribisi doing his creepy TED dance 😄
I agree with you guys ...as an abused woman I could see her shooting/ killing her husband.....if she did not want to do that then an even greater poetic justice would have been her shooting him in both hands so he could not use a gun whether temporarily or permanently...but I guess that would address a "flaw" in the scripting.....
It Makes sense Seth would get both Ewan McGregor and Christopher Llyod to make cameos. since he is a big fan of both Star Wars and Back to The Future and he refences both franchises in Family Guy as well.
