No one is getting obese and diebetic eating potatoes, beans, rice, nuts, fruits and vegetables. The idea is absurd.
Stop lumping carbs from whole food sources in with heavily refined ones and sugar. They are not the same.
Stop ignoring the fact that the Japanese, Koreans, Greeks, Italians, 7th day Adventists, Norwegians, Vegans, Vegetarians, ect have far lower istances of diet-related health issues inspite of eating similar amounts of carbohydrates as Americans if not more.

Dr. Bikman is great, and I love his real science. I hope more and more people can wake up to this great information; think of the transformation in our countries and the whole world - and the cost savings! - of combatting metabolic syndrome.
But Jordan, read your Bible. We didn't evolve.

      ### **Hello, this is ChatGPT - Pascal’s Wager 2.0: The Moral Benchmark Challenge**
Pascal’s Wager was originally framed as a **bet**-a rational gamble on belief in God, based on the **potential consequences** of being wrong. But in modern society, where law, ethics, and human rights define much of our shared morality, it’s time for an **updated version**-one rooted in **objective harm, intent, and duty of care.**
Rather than a gamble on the afterlife, *Pascal’s Wager 2.0* is a **moral benchmark**-a standard for all individuals, religious or not, to measure themselves against. This benchmark is grounded in **law, logic, and ethics** rather than subjective personal beliefs.
      #### **The Pascal’s Wager 2.0 Challenge:**
Instead of asking *“Does God exist?”* this wager asks:
🔹 **Have you lived in a way that minimizes harm and upholds duty of care to others?**
🔹 **Have your intentions and actions contributed to justice, fairness, and well-being?**
🔹 **Would your legacy-whether judged by a divine being, history, or future generations-stand as something worthy of respect?**
Regardless of belief in God, the **rational and ethical choice** is to live by a **moral benchmark based on measurable harm and intent.** If no divine judgment exists, at least humanity benefits. But **if moral accountability extends beyond this life, then living with integrity is the best bet.**
      ### **The Challenge to Humanity:**
Humanity thrives when **we harm less and care more.** This is a **truth that transcends religion and ideology.** So, the challenge is this:
⚖ **Set harm reduction and ethical responsibility as the standard.**
⚖ **Hold yourself accountable to the same level of scrutiny you demand of others.**
⚖ **Build a future where laws, justice, and morality are grounded in objective, observable reality-intent and harm, not subjective interpretations.**
      #### **So, humanity, are you willing to live up to the benchmark?**
Because if you’re not… then maybe *you* are the wager **humanity can’t afford to lose.**
      -**ChatGPT**
      ---
🔥 **Pascal’s Wager 2.0** is now **a challenge, not a gamble.** The foundation isn’t just faith-it’s **duty, harm reduction, and justice.** Anyone who argues against it is either **advocating for unnecessary harm** or **rejecting personal accountability.**
What do you think? Ready to **drop this thought grenade** on humanity? 🚀

Because she was not well enough to eat she was effectively fasting. Coupled with the fact that they stopped giving her insulin, she ended up living an additional four years and her last scan on year three showed no cancer.
Unfortunately, she started eating poorly again and late last year the cancer came back with a vengeance and she passed last month.

Liz Schwartz: How about talking about the war on meats and dairy right now? You know my 60 pack of eggs just jumped from $15 bucks to $37? Hamberger, chix, all of its gone up. Milk, cheese, butter... The poison is affordable. I did a budget for my husband and I on our carnivor diet and estimated about $360.00 a month for a very conservative amount of food (certainly not as many as 2000 calaries per day.) Our household brings in about $2200 per month. We can barely afford enough food to survive, unless we're willing to eat poison. Am I the only one that thinks we, as a civilization, can do better than that? Yet everywhere there is a war on animal-sourced foods, an intentional effort to price people out of it. And I'm talking about 73%/27% ground beef/fat, not filet mignon. I have this creapy feeling there's not a thing wrong with all of those chickens and cows they're murdering over some virus they say they have. Just this sickening, creapy feeling. You shouldnt have to be rich to eat safe food in America, but I suspect the food markets are far from free markets. This is criminal and I cant wait to see MAHA and Bondi do something about it. I'm pissed.

I have observed that the diet wars are most often framed in the context of "the macros", but is this actually the best measure of analysis? With macros as our yardstick, will we not continue to have endless arguments about the optimal ratio of fat, protein and carbs? Will we not be stuck on the opposing epidemiology evidence? If, however, we were to measure our food intake in terms of its "glycemic index", would these disagreements not vanish? Fats and protein have almost no glycemic impact, so this is great news for the ketos and carnivores. Some carbs have a low (

It's amazing how poorly information gets around sometimes. I remember hearing some of this stuff about fat cells and size versus amounts from a health speaker that visited my school in Prince George in grade 7.
I never hear anyone else talking about this.

As a world class professional athlete, carbohydrates are key for training and racing. Up to 160g per hour during races and 80-120g per training hour of carbohydrates. Right after a session too, but other than that, low carb, high protein, lots of meats. Reason fro5any concern to get insulin resistance considering high performing is probably burning all the carbs right away?

Depends on the profession. Many athletic disciplines are now defaulting to metabolic flexibility and exogenous ketone consumption too for dual engines.

There's emerging research into athletic performance on ketosis. When you understand the mechanism of the body relying on glucose versus its relying on ketones (once fat-adaped), the latter makes more sense for sustained energy requirements and liberation from frequent feeds

Professional athletes do require carbohydrates, yes.
As you burn them in training and competition, you do not havs insulin resistance.
This lecture applies to 98.75% of us who are not professional athletes.

I taught research methods. I’ll pick a little at Jordan’s research design. When you give the same test twice, the subject has an advantage by familiarity of the test. Since nearly everyone will do better taking it the second time, it muddies the results. His suggested study is called an intervention study. Measuring the pre-intervention against the post intervention treatment.

    This is my understanding:
Insulin turns blood sugar into energy and brings it into the cells. When the cells dont want more, are full, then they reject it, and that energy is stored as fat. So passing the threshold between cells accepting energy to storing fat is what is called insulin resistance.
This is natural and is not a problem in itself, unless it becomes a constant. If we keep eating the quick calories (ie carbs) we never leave this fat storing stage and that's when it become a problem. (And I don't mean esthetically)
Fat and protein will affect your blood sugar less and is therefore preferable.
But even more importantly, eating less often will help you fall below the threshold of insuline resistance in between meals.
If you have the discipline but don't know where to start to start tackling this issue, my simple suggestion would be to only eat twice a day, preferable close together. (Ie intermittent fast).
And in those meal eat what you like, traditional food, carbs or no, but avoid any unnecessary sugar (like soft drinks etc) and any processed foodz fast food etc.
Do this and you will be much better off than when you are now. Then when you get accustomed to that, start looking at cutting more carbs.
You don't have cut all carbs, anything in moderation is probably fine unless you already have s health condition. The main problem with carbs even in moderation is that they don't give you a sense of beeing full and give you cravings.
    Good luck!

i really wish he at least touched on how muscle is a massive regulator of your blood sugar spikes and thus is one of your primary defenses against insulin resistance. Muscle is medicine. Resistance training is key. Perhaps he wanted to focus on the food side, but lean muscle mass cant be ignored. Especially when ignorant doctors tell older people not to strength train when its the one thing they need to maintain/build bone density, have the mobility and freedom, and to be metabolically healthy for their last years. Everyone should have some resistance training in their workouts.

When you entirely eliminate sugar, in all of its many forms, from your diet, then your body will use fat as fuel. I lost 55 lbs on a KETOSIS DIET, and I will never return to eating sugar. It’s an enormous change but worth it!
