I have been watching your sailing guide to the Solent and local watering holes with great amusement. Your relaxed attitude towards the fine art of passage planning has clearly been honed over many years. Frequent accusations of ‘running aground’ or snuggling the seabed as I think you have referred reassures me that on the occasion that I have checked the depth of water with my keel perfectly acceptable. My wife remains concerned about my sudden outburst of laughter and fails to understand why I find dirty ropes, lack of maintenance, toilets and losing valuable equipment over the side so amusing, which of course all sound familiar to many a yachts man. Oh! The arrival and depth of water!! 👍
Thanks for your comment Stephen. Your words make me itchy to get out there. Darn this virus. Hopefully not too much longer. Glad you enjoy and empathise with me. The dirty one. Or so he would have you believe. Such dreadful false accusations. Stay safe and hope you can get out soon.
@@LeeShoresLazyJacksandLunches Thanks for taking some heat off me Gary, I have been on therapy since these guys have been having a go at me....😩😩😩😩Andy UK
Yay an episode to look forward to watching later and my fav place, Newtown Creek! I have lasagna cooking, a very nice Rioja and watch you two, great night , even though missing been on my boat Big 👍
You guys should audition as “Top Gear on Waves.” Not sure Andy or Gary might approve, but they could become your “Stig!” And the “Lap” could be an on board global recipe challenge in all weathers, including Andy’s choppy water dishes. Keep up the happy banter guys!!!
Love watching your adventures, but can we have a bit more about the sailing, passage planning, entering your destination etc. Keep up the exploring and fun. We have stayed at Beaulieu, and love it there, can’t wait to sail back. Stay safe. Mark
Blimey guys what an episode- a new recipe from you both - and Jill, and a dop about in the Solent on a Winter day! Nice to see some sun in the UK . Gary sounds like hes the guy for you to invite on board for a sushi making lesson. Andy hope you have got out at some point this autumn? Dave I was very impressed at the chart table cover my husband says can I do that on our boat now... cheers, I dont get PBO over in USA what was article about ?
Hi Fiona, nice to hear from you. The article was about these videos. Their digital editor lady is based in France and enjoys to watch to remind her of home. Bit like you guys maybe. Are you permanent or temporary Americans?
Nice video guys, I've been missing Newtown and this is the next best thing to being there! I took the sails off the boat as I thought we might be banned from sailing again, but it looks like I need to put them on again now. Hope to see you at Beaulieu soon.
Yes Chris, I was very surprised to hear that sailing was one of the official exercises. Bizarrely we are not supposed to work on our boats but we can sail them. So we'd better hope nothing goes mechanically wrong when we are out on the water :) Come say hello when next at Beaulieu.

Well guys, that was a disaster. I mean, I was all excited to see how this anchoring hole would turn out and you couldn’t swing a cat in it never mind an Elan.... Thank heavens for Gary, someone to share the flak with. I really can’t recall what I was doing on this particular day but as you say it certainly wasn’t sailing... Not been out since latest lockdown and sails have been serviced to hopefully I will get down soon but waiting for the weather to turn nasty as you know. Anyway, catching up so on to the next video.... Andy U.K.

Funnily enough I've only ever stopped off at Newtown Creek in the Winter and, like you, had the place almost to myself. But I've sailed past in the Summer and there are so many masts sticking up you think it could be a marina. It's a nice spot. Cheese toastie or cooked two course meal? Pretty much everything tastes better on a boat.
