There is something really cathartic in seeing a YTuber I watch give such an empassioned, upset, condemnation of right wing talking points. Even the political commentators I do watch tend have a more clinical analysis of right wing talking points. Seeing Adum get this mad, get filled with this much no more tolerance attitude toward right wingers, it stands out.
As a gay person living in Denver, CO this struck something in me too. Seeing him go off on how truly vile these people are helps remind me that there are people who care, who take this seriously, who are just as distraught and outraged about it as me. It reminds me that there are still people who see logic and reason, which living in America right now it is in very short supply.
Adums redemption arc politically has been amazing to watch. I'm all here for it. This whole issue is a non debatable one. People died, full stop. Anyone who thinks that's not a bad thing is fucked up.
I'm not sure how old you are, but like there was a time where you could just be like "oh, I'm not emotional but you are, you must be triggered, you're wrong" to shut people down. I hope that's going away because it's completely understandable to empassioned and upset at stuff like this and we should be.
God, five minutes in and I feel you, Adum, SO hard. The shooter potentially being nonbinary changes literally nothing. Self-hating gays are a thing. I know, BECAUSE I WAS ONE. I remained a closeted for several years after I realized I was attracted solely to men, and turned my frustration outwards by being homophobic, transphobic, and sexist to everyone under the sun. Even after I came out and stopped the homophobia and sexism, I was still a major transphobe until stumbling across Contrapoints on TH-cam and realizing I was wrong. Anyone who says "well, the perpetrator was under the LGBTQ+ banner, therefore, no hate crime," apparently is not aware of the rampant biphobia in queer spaces - you know - THE THIRD GROUP NAMED IN THE ACRONYM.
are people trying to argue they did it BECAUSE they identifed as non binary? Wtf? I'm not a self hating gay.. but I'm sorry, I'm also someone who rolls my eyes when I hear "ACTUALLY, MY PRONOUNS ARE" - for anyone other than actual trans people. It's a tik tok trend.
@@ChipCheerio I've seen other gay people be weirdly mean to bi dudes and I don't understand, and think it's just mean. Just like everyone else, bi people cant pick what they want, and who would choose that!? I think people just get offended if they arent attracted to them personally, lol
No matter what side of the political spectrum you fall under, when your political views trumps your empathy for other human beings, you've found yourself in a cult. I used to follow people like Tim back in the day but over time they just became more and more extreme and impossible to take seriously. They have become what they hated and the cycle continues.
As a guy on the right, most of our decent talking points and beliefs are taken hostage by right wing grifters, and Tim absolutely falls into that category. I wish we had more people that better represent us and don’t just take shit to extremes for the sake of money, but we don’t, and it just makes us look bad.
If you want a good right-winger to follow, try JJ McCullough. His videos are actually very insightful and well thought-out. I disagree with him on pretty much everything politically but he's actually sane and level-headed. He's a breath of fresh air as far as conservative pundits go.
What's even crazier is that two of the victims themselves were not part of the LGBT community. They were there with their friends who were in the community to just have a good time. But I bet if you told Pool that he would say that they were "complacent in grooming" and try to use that as an excuse. Edit: I hope he enjoys all the money he grifts from this.
It’s crazy how, even when Adum is on an extremely passionate tirade, he’s more eloquent and thoughtful than I could ever be when I’m just normally speaking, let alone when I’m this outraged.
The worst part is that they literally do not care about getting called out. They're so comfortable with their hypocrisy and lies and their fans are just either too brainwashed to see what's actually happening, or they're doing the exact same thing. They're getting bolder and no matter how much most of us speak out, it feels like not much is being done. And as mentioned, the whole "marketplace of ideas" and "fight them by debating them" is bullshit, it just doesn't work. This is all incredibly infuriating and I know EXACTLY how Adam feels here. These people are just fucking evil.
You verbalized my feelings quite well. I have lost respect for the "marketplace of ideas" concept. It DOES NOT WORK in regards to politics that affect real people. I get frustrated that debates have been stripped of any meaning and reduced to "winning a game." They're treated as hypotheticals where the cost of losing is looking like an idiot. No, the cost is human rights being stripped away, corporations being given special treatment over common people, the destruction of our planet, etc. Asking very nicely for the people in power to respect you will NEVER WORK. You can't be shocked that people who peacefully protest to have something done, only to be ignored or met with force, are going to go "fuck it" and start throwing bricks and lighting things on fire. Obviously, I am not asking for America to become French Revolution 2.0, but if being civil and presentable isn't going to get things done, then breaking things is gonna have to commence.
@@JackedThor-so Yeah debates are for fucking nerds. I feel like people's rights and well-being isn't up for debate even if the right thinks it is. Normalize marginalizing the right
The left is so stupid, they hated a tax cut (for everyone) that increased circulation thus increased growth thus INCREASED tax revenues . And that's real growth aka productivity, not this illusion of inflation-based growth. Imagine that. Arguing against productivity, arguing against keeping more of your hard earned money while collectively providing more resources for the State. What a strange position.
Dude you’re so right about the indoctrination of children by religion. I grew up fundamentalist and it’s soul-crushingly heavy to come to grips with the fact that everything I “knew” about reality and morality was completely wrong.
That crap screws you up good too. For me it took ~20 years before I “woke up,” and I’m already 12 years removed from that, and it’s STILL something I think about daily, in anger. It’s just always going to be part of me for the rest of my life, and I wasn’t offered that choice. When my parents decided to take me to church multiple times a week for years on end, that choice was made for me.
I was raised by Christian parents who thought the Evangelist stuff was total crap. They seemed disappointed when I went atheist, but never drove me away (or mentioned it much). Now I am Christian, but if I was met with hostility during my atheist phase, I likely would have stayed that way out of spite. Every atheist I have ever met had hardcore religious upbringing. It helps me be more gentle, seeing how being a jerk about Jesus made a generation hate God. It pains me to see atheists assume all Christians watch those rich+famous pastors on TV, but it pains me more seeing Christians fulfill that stereotype.
@@ArchSchizo a lot of atheists are like feminists and incels. They make being opposed to something such a big part of their identity because they were harmed by it in their past. They then use that as justification to hate a whole group. All the same people. Daddy issues, mommy issues, parental issues. Nobody with a healthy upbringing ever falls into those camps.
People get so easily sucked into "think of the children" that they end up excusing mass murder. I just don't understand it. Take a step back and actually analyse the "threat" you're being presented with. Gay people existing is not a danger to anyone.
It's truly boggling how far you can get with the argument "X can't hate Y, they're a Y themself!" It's so easy to sell hate, it's a wonder we didn't get here sooner.
Say nothing of the right of the people they want to defend themselves … sounds like a utopian notion to me. Didn’t Brazil try that once, and it failed miserably?
I think the people who are saying "but the lawyers have said they are non-binary" reveals a lot about the person saying it. It shows they have bought into the idea of "authorities are too afraid to prosecute and pursue trans people because they are afraid of being called transphobic" line of bullshit, and they are saying it in a way as to show the hypocrisy they perceive (that being, it's ok for a trans person to get away with a crime because they are trans as long as their crime isn't directed against the LGBT community). So take note of the people who are stating the non-binary thing as though that changes anything. It won't be coming from anyone other than transphobes.
The colorado shooter is NOT nonbinary, he's only saying that to avoid the hate crime charge. His lawyers went back to referring to him as "he" immediately after he was charged with a hate crime. Everyone that knows him says he's given zero indication of being nb and expressed rampant homophobia to them - the first person he came out to was his defense lawer, who, again, stopped calling the shooter "they" after they couldn't get the hate crime charge dropped. Edit: As further explanation, I'll borrow Adum's use of a catholic analogy. This would be like if a guy who was outspokenly anti-religous to all his friends and neighbors shot up a diocese, and then in custody, told his defense lawyer "Actually I think Jesus was the son of God and the Pope is the vicar of Christ." It's bullshit.
@@TheKnoxvicious Bro shut up. The “fairness in sports with trans athletes” is such a dishonest argument, it was never about fairness in sports, it’s always about alienating trans people.
Scary times ahead. Someone called in a bomb threat at a place where I live that was holding one of those drag queen events with kids. And I live in a fairly small city.
LMAO just 15 minutes of Adam being genuinely upset. Not that i can blame him. Imagine having to deal with those people and being told that I'M too ignorant and need to open my mind. From people who are okay with Nazi's.
this reminds me of that one skit by The Onion where there was a mass shooter in a swing state and how they satirized how the media focused on how the deaths of the victims would effect voting numbers on election day. it’s such a gross and cynical disregard of human life that unfortunately seems closer to reality than parody these days.
I have a friend of a friend who is a self hating gay man and it's so sad to see, he refers to his sexuality as a sickness and mental illness and I just hope all people like that find love for who they r, cuz I know that self hate was fueled by people around them not accepting them

This was from a stream on November 23rd, almost two weeks ago. Long before Ye's most recent statements. The date was shown at the beginning of the video.
Well we do have an example of what Adum is talking about, because after the New Zealand Christchurch shooting, people on Twitter were sending hate to Pewdiepie because the shooter had this crazy manifesto where he referenced a bunch of online personalities. American polarisation of politics has literally made people insane
as a trans person its quite relieving to see someone with a following like this address this issue so passionately. lgbt people are so tired of having to defend ourselves with no voice and its about time more people with an online influence speak up and take a stance rather than showing superficial empathy towards us.
@@yggdrasil2 I more mean defending ourselves without having a voice so to speak, oftentimes lgbt people who reach a certain level of public popularity try to distance themselves from these issues outside of during an immediate aftermath due to society’s attitude with turning the other cheek to these issues. People don’t want to know about lgbt people being murdered, they like to think that we’ve progressed beyond that. Lgbt people with a voice are aware that speaking up like this can create controversy surrounding them and stick to the same vague expressions of sorrow as straight/cis people. Obviously this is not always true but it’s becoming more of a reality in the age of tiktok censorship and such volatile political discourse.
@@yggdrasil2 Pretty much. All I get are hateful lgbt+ people on TH-cam and outside of it. I was almost raped by lesbian women and two gay men in my state. This all sucks and breaks my heart, humanity is trash, but I'm so glad you use your platform to talk about these issues. Thank you so much, Adam. This is important shit that affects lives in terrible and dangerous ways, hopefully you manage to open more eyes to these matters.
Humanity is not trash. Humanity is scared and/or lazy due to the power structures we've created. Once we remove those structures of power, the scared will be forced to face their fears and the lazy will be forced to face their obligations. It is a very, VERY difficult task to save ourselves...it is a multi-generational project. But, it is not impossible.

I like that we’re back to calling Tim Poole one of the not terrible ones just because he told Kanye that saying the Jews run the entire world was maybe not correct.
After that interview he said that he should be president and then retracted it when Kanye said he loves h**ler. So it's okay for him when someone hates Jews and wants to kill them, but not when they idolize someone that hated Jews. 👍
He barely gave Ye any push back at all. Hell, he didn't even say that Nick Fuentes is a Holocaust denier and a White Nationalist. Tim Pool is complete garbage. One of the worst of the right eing grifters out there
Conservative grifters like Poole agree word-for-word with the conspiracy Ye is pushing, the ones pushing back against him are just smart enough to know that we’re not far gone enough yet as a country that favorable comparisons to Hitler won’t still rightfully sink your public image in a heartbeat
Good God, people are actually doing that? A channel, HeyIt'sVadim has a slew of videos on Timothy Swimmingpool and I cannot fathom anyone hearing that information and going "ah, yes, Tim seems like a perfectly reasonable and trustworthy American."
The right knows the one area they can't be extremely vocal about is their antisemitism, it gives the game away to the media and pushes their Jewish constituents out of the party. Many conservatives like Donald Trump, Alex Jones, or Tucker Carlson have many antisemitic opinions/positions but do not explicitly say that it's "because of the Jews" because most people know (left and right wing) that antisemitism is bad.
Thank you for speaking your mind Adam. It's good to see people who don't usually do politics stand up against this vile shit instead of staying silent. It can't go on.
Idk now often Adam reads this but I live in the springs, I Went to some vigils. I’m also trans. I worry a lot about the rhetoric heating up, from distancing themselves from acts of violence to tepidly blaming the victims of violence. Soon I worry there will be an open embrace of violence from media personalities and direct calls for violence. Seeing just people at these vigils just mourning and trying to process what has happened to their friends and loved ones as a media shit storm surrounds it is heartbreaking. I just don’t know what to do anymore my heart still aches and I appreciate Adam as someone I do respect even If I disagree with him a bit still actively call it out for the bullshit that it is and not waiver or be Tepid in his response. And while I still think that a lot of those same people had terrible argumentation and rhetoric, it's really hard not to recognize that, ultimately, they ended up being right. Btw as a european, I'd like to add that this far-right wave isn't something that is exclusive to north america. A lot of people in other countries over here are also becoming more politically polarized, just not to the same extreme extent as people do in the US. I have the dreadful suspicion that something terrible is going to happen before people decide to hit the brakes on the genocidal rhetoric.
I think "political polarization" is a very, very good term. In the USA, the right-wing and left-wing kept drifting left. In response, the right-wing said "no more" and jumped right, which made the left-wing jump further left to maintain the positioning of middle-ground. Now they keep drifting further apart, because of finger-pointing on who REALLY is the reactionary radicals. Only common ground is stamping out centrists and moderates, because they both think they can win this fight. Do you see a similar pattern in Europe? I assumed with the internet our patterns are connected, but I never really asked a European how things occurred there. I presume both wings justify their ideas with the multitude of living strawmen, just like here? Normal folk get left in the dust out here, because only a crazy person would run for office.
@@ArchSchizo Well, I say it's less here mostly due to the fact that we have different parties meaning people all over the board feel represented enough (in theory at least). There's still a broader left and right with different coalitions and parties working together, but parties can greatly differ even if they are on the same side. Not everything is great with the mutiparty system tho. In Bulgaria, where I live, there are only populist right-wing parties. The most left party we have here are still libertrarians with mildly socialist rhethoric. Also the actual socdem party is just boomers, tankies and russian simps who have nothing to do with actual socialism. There's also probably something to be said about how the parties of different countries interact with each other (i.e. european coalitions, official or unofficial meetings and simply parties getting "inspired" by others abroad).
You know - on the Deep Fat Fried podcast, Paulsego wants TJ Kirk, who is slated to go on Tim Pool's show (unless that changed recently and I didn't hear), to absolutely unload on Tim. I think in a video Tim Pool said he doesn't want more shootings obviously and that this tweet was a prediction. But he should be more hard on the shooter obviously.
What a sad state America os is right now when Adam mentions the "Colorado Shooting" and I can't even remember anything about it a few months later because we have so many of these
It hurts me as someone who has used religion to better myself and try and help others see people like this use religion in a bad manner and spread this rhetoric around that causes real life harm. Can’t stand these right wing pundits that basically brainwash their audience when saying this stuff. Using religion for the wrong reasons makes me so upset and makes me also distance myself from reading any kind of right wing commentary like this. Adum venting like this made me feel so cathartic.
Religion is always used to control and manipulate people. There isn't a good side. Any time religion gets people killed all the "good christians" come out of the woodwork to defend their faith. Just leave the religion, you don't need it. Obviously you're more moral than any of these scumbags.
Weaponizing religion was one of the keystone strategies of the Nzis and the fact that people have turned a blind eye to this new wave of nationalism creeping into our society is truly disheartening
Such a good point that if they actually think something is going on REPORT it, not SHOOT UP the place. That’s ridiculous. You aren’t a vigilante you are a murderer and a criminal in that case. Idiots.
Unfortunately, this is the logical conclusion of lots of other talking points and things that have slid over the years. The guys Adam mentions have been doing this evil stuff before, but it's normally been a couple of people here or there. Like, they basically built the skepticism around the BLM movement and are now following a similar playbook with pride and queer folks. It's really scary, and I hope more people continue to speak up.
The only thing shocking to me about this situation is that Adum is shocked by the responses. Folk like Steven Crowder have reacted this exact way when it comes to anti-Islamic shootings (complete with monologues about rape gangs, molestations and indoctrination) and suggesting that these are just going to keep on happening if "something isn't done". I think Adum is quite astute with many things but perceiving the depths to which a seemingly normal person can go to in their mind when they are doused in the socially right wing mindset is not one of them.
Adam might just be a Centrist weenie that wants to "see the good in both sides". It explains his lack of knowledge in right wing political commentators like Tim Poole
My favorite thing about the shooter being NB is that they still fit the profile: assigned male at birth, extreme views, between 18 to 35, access to assault weapons/explosives. Ya know, like most mass casualty perpetrators.
They didn't have an assault rifle, and the majority of mass casualty shootings involve handguns. Not here to fuck with you, just wanted to give you the correct information because guns and security is my job.
@@rottytherottski522 then you'd mention shotguns. One of the first documented school shootings was a guy with a double barrel into a schoolhouse. And the West Hollywood shootout, where kevlar was a big deal. And Miami-Dade, which convinced the FBI to stop using revolvers. But even with that, gun show culture has a problem with hosting dangerous people. It's not everyone, owning guns is fine, but in the 90's alone, Tim McVeigh and the Columbine shooters were connected to shady people at gunshows. Not exactly sure what your point was. Regardless of weapons, shooter still fits the bill, even if you have to amend it to "access to weapons."

Omg so true, i really needed this one
Adums redemption arc politically has been amazing to watch. I'm all here for it. This whole issue is a non debatable one. People died, full stop. Anyone who thinks that's not a bad thing is fucked up.

@@creepykels enough already, can we not hear about lifestyle just for one day?
Biphobia is really just never talked about and just accepted. In both straight and queer spaces it’s all over the place.
are people trying to argue they did it BECAUSE they identifed as non binary?

@@ZeranZeran it's definitely just a ploy from the defense to try and move it away from being a hate crime

Tim Pool is such a goon. He’s the embodiment of “The clickbait flies half way around the world before the truth has a chance to put it’s pants on”.

Lauren Boebert did! 😀🔫
@trashteamracing Yeah it's amazing how people aren't capable of comprehending that anyone is capable of doing awful things.
It's truly boggling how far you can get with the argument "X can't hate Y, they're a Y themself!" It's so easy to sell hate, it's a wonder we didn't get here sooner.
Here in Brazil, we like to call that "the people who want the rights to kill" vs "the people who want the rights to exist"
é nóis, bolsonaro na prisão
Literally the same thing. You cant ensure your own existence without the ability to defend it.
This would be like if a guy who was outspokenly anti-religous to all his friends and neighbors shot up a diocese, and then in custody, told his defense lawyer "Actually I think Jesus was the son of God and the Pope is the vicar of Christ." A lot of people in other countries over here are also becoming more politically polarized, just not to the same extreme extent as people do in the US.

Idiots.
If they "report" all the nothing that's happening, the police will tell them to stop wasting their time.
Thank you Adam. I appreciate that you spoke this passionately about this, really needed that today
Something about this clip brought me such relief
The only thing shocking to me about this situation is that Adum is shocked by the responses. Folk like Steven Crowder have reacted this exact way when it comes to anti-Islamic shootings (complete with monologues about rape gangs, molestations and indoctrination) and suggesting that these are just going to keep on happening if "something isn't done". I think Adum is quite astute with many things but perceiving the depths to which a seemingly normal person can go to in their mind when they are doused in the socially right wing mindset is not one of them.
Adam might just be a Centrist weenie that wants to "see the good in both sides". It explains his lack of knowledge in right wing political commentators like Tim Poole
critical thinking and media literacy is something that should be taught in high school
He couldn’t have said it better.
Does he know that their feelings don't care about facts?
I've been stressed a bit but luckily I just got a good deal on a penile douche. Everything is going to work out I think.
In other topics to discuss, the sky is blue.
It's funny to see Tim, who used to bitch about identity politics, turn around and use identity politics to justify mental gymnastics.

I hope Adam makes a longer review of 'They Live'. He mentioned it in a past video but the movie rings very true nowadays
The movie has always rang true, the thing is that the world around us has not changed at all.
Easily the best movie starring a wrestler.
I agree with Adam wholeheartedly but whenever someone says "sky daddy" my brain shuts down for a minute.
I know hes mad, he has the right to be. I gotta remind myself who he is referring to tho, lol.
Hmm maybe we should just assign everyone female at birth
@@TheDrLeviathan my point was kind of along the lines that a automatic weapon or burst fire weapon which is an actual assault rifle is extremely rarely used. Just moreso here to help you make your point properly and avoid using a buzzword which would be incorrect and hurt what you are trying to get across.
But yeah I'm with your points, though I'd say extreme views/serious mental health problems. It's usually those problems which lend someone with violent tendencies to get embroiled deep into extremist groups.
@@rottytherottski522 What do you think should be done in regards to the mental health aspect of a lot of these shootings?
This is one of the few cases where the only thing these people can do to mitigate the damage they've done is to fucking kill themselves.
They could also admit wrong doing and make an effort to set the record straight, but they'll never do that, so they can just suffocate.
This is the same lunkheaded audience that believed some vague comments about a new medical technology called Healight somehow actually meant 'inject bleach'😂
Adum rants are my favorite rants.
if Dahmer were still around, he’d b the right’s favorite queer person
Seeing adum go political, which he very rarely does, is something I want pumped into my veins
That's a problem. Now I'm more dispaointed in Adum.
@@bdbeady I cry all the time since I have health issues. Plus I live in a blue state. I do not think Adum understands the woes here.
@@bilbobaggins9451 At least there will be less crime if a conservative ruled.
@@bilbobaggins9451 Mass shootings happen everywhere. Always has been for so many years. Nice try troll. Ever heard of mass shootings in schools? Yeah, I know. I live in a blue state. You might want to look up Oregon, California, New York, and Michigan. I'm so scared to get out of my house sometimes because of the border. That's where all parties hide their black market or other illegal activities. I know because I'm a social worker. I don't trust any politcians including Trump.
That’s been proven to not be accurate.
I think that tolerant and emphatic people are unfortunately a minority. It's really hard to change someone's perspective when he never learnt to change idea in the first place, these people are even proud of that wall they built around their world view.
Maybe the most important thing we should really work on is that horrible instruction system that is just too old for our time - but everyone is too scared to try something new because we believe that children are sacred ... So we can't try anything different that the shit we somehow got through.
My dad has been a hardcore right winger for like 40 years and with most of these recent things he's started calling right wingers nutjobs.
I wholeheartedly agree with this video's title and the contents therein.
This is actually my first time hearing about Tim Pool. I guess I'll never even think about him again.
He's really annoying but so is all of kpop

GET HIS A$$, ADAM
I can't think of a time when the standards with these dunderheads were in any way decent or well-adjusted.
In order to communicate how bad Tim pool’s comment is, it could be interesting to bring up how many of them felt when Hassan said “America deserved 9/11” and how they interpreted that statement one way but they interpret what Tim Pool said about a shooter another way and show their cognitive dissonance
He said WHAT? Was that a really shitty joke or was there some twisted logic to it?
Hasan did not say "innocent people deserved to die". Tim Pool did. Why can you not understand the difference?
I agree with you, I’m just suggesting an additional example next to Adam’s catholic example. What with conservatives obsessed with both patriotism and religiosity
Hasan didn’t say that but it conjured up a similar reaction and emotion in conservatives to if he did say that
@@PlatinumAltaria so what did Hasan say exactly? Why would he say 9/11 deserved to happen? Like… at all?
