    This game is so excellent and has way more depth than is initially apparent, not to mention the surprisingly apt ways in which the experience of an MMO is conveyed. I haven't finished it yet, let alone tried to 100% it because my pride prevents me from decreasing any of the difficulty, and this game is extremely skill based. Just gotta sit down and practice!

      sad part: if you're playing it on pc, you can only complete one facility that includes a robot scorpion (the laser unit)
      the rest 3 mechanical ones are for xbox and playstation
      edit: i dont know if there was one more platform to play crosscode

    • @draghettis6524
      @draghettis6524 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@keithreal716 That's wrong.
      Each facility used to be exclusive to one plateform, as indicated by the quest having a word of the platform's name in its own name, except PC whose quest is named "Best in the West".
      BUT, the plateform-exclusive content was eventually made available on all platforms, so you can accede the Facility X without having to search how to do that on the Internet.

      @@draghettis6524 i know, it just unfair, you can only fight the heavy laser unit on pc, they wont let you fight the other 3 unless you use xbox or playstation, i dont even have one and never used one, its just soo hard to use a controller if you never used one

    I remember when this game came out, it had Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on steam for years. Recently, it's just gone down to very positive with people citing the difficulty of puzzles and platforming. Idk about most people, but for one thing, the puzzles are what drew me in more than anything else, but more than that I always found the combat to be the bigger hurdle.

    • @matthewsafar4890
      @matthewsafar4890 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I know that on controller, some of the time-dependent puzzles can have frustrating instances where you have to aim really fast with a analog stick. And I suck at games, so that was hard. But it's still definitely lenient enough that you can make up for it with good preparation. (I also got through all the combat by just, uhhhhh, being super overleveled, lmao)

    Worth keeping in mind - do NOT buy the PS5 version, the publisher has offered no communication on it being the only platform without the dlc, and the developer says it's up the publisher, so it's just never happening. If you buy the ps5 version you're NOT entitled to the feature complete PS4 version, even though the ps4 version gets you a free update to the ps5 version.

      The main story is rather linear. It's mainly the sidequests or just exploring that take you off the beaten path. If you're referring to options in combat, for that I can't help you ask much on, you really just need to try things until you feel comfortable.

      @@kaladan1890 Honestly, I don't actually remember much being in Rhombus Square other than the arena, the shops, and a few quests from the DLC. I think it might actually be completely optional in the base game. • @JBasilix
    @JBasilix 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I can´t remember how far I have come in the game but I remember being intrigued by it but at the same time also extremely bored. My biggest problem comes from the setting... it being inside an mmo game which made the quests extremely mmo like. What I mean by that is they were typical mmo quests. At the beginning of every area you get a ton of "kill x amount of monsters" or "farm y amount of material" quests. Then proceed to the next area with its story quest, rince and repeat. Maybe it gets better after a while but I played for a decent time through multiple areas and at some point I just couldn´t deal with it anymore. I did get into a new area got my next batch of fetch quests and pressed alt+f4. I was so incredibly disappointed. If I want to get a bland mmo experience I would play an mmo. Now you might say I should just ignore the sidequests and go on with the main quest... yeah not happening. I am a compulsory completionist. If I see a "!" somewhere on my map or an unfinished quest in my questlog I go crazy. Seriously it sounds dumb but I really can´t handle that. I can´t understand how people can just leave an area without having done everything there is, it is inconceivable to me.

    • @Teflora
      @Teflora 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A few of the very first quests are pretty fetch-questy and yes there's one series of a quest that makes you fetch things in each area. But that quest is practically done automatically by just exploring and it later turns into one of the best quests in the game! Other quests have unique mechanics, minigames and bosses so there's actually a ton of variety

    • @crazy338866
      @crazy338866 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It sounds like you didn't do any of the faction quests (excluding the introductory ones in rookie harbor).
      There is several interesting quests scattered throughout the game: a stealth mission where you have to sneak past guards, a lot of missions that end in a boss fight with unique gimmicks, tower defense, parkour time trials, a drone escort mission, a naval battle with a cannon that interacts with your elements, and many more interesting quests. The number of fetch quests become increasingly more infrequent after you reach the second town.

    • @JWar-
      @JWar- 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is what keeps me from trying this game in spite of the glowing reviews. Even back when NetHack came out for playstation, the idea of a single player rpg withing an mmo setting doesn't appeal to me. I played Everquest to level 20 when I was young, but it seemed like I was just grinding with the hopes that the game would get good. I recently quit playing Lost Ark after putting in a few hundred hours. Why did I play it for so long? Because the daily grinding and log in bonuses create a fear of missing out, and I kept telling myself that the game would get good eventually if I just unlocked some more content. Mmo's are just a bad addicting drug that doesn't even get you high. It seems like the rpg inside mmo setting is an excuse to copy bad mmo game design, but pretend it's Ok because it's a self-aware pop culture reference. Sad, because I can see the quality in the game in all other aspects. I hope the company makes another game with a real setting.
