Why You Should Play CrossCode

- I was aware of and wanted to play CrossCode since back when the game was in Early Access, and now finally I have completed a playthrough of it. Have any of you had a game that took you 4 or more years before you actually played it?
I bought this game randomly knowing nothing about it just because it was on sale on the switch. Didn't expect much, but damn it genuinely blew me away. I have a real soft spot for the games art style, and it does it amazingly.
Definitely among my top 10 games of all time, ESPECIALLY because of the hard ass puzzles. Solving them remains one of my proudest achivements.
I love CrossCode so much. If you love the PSP Yses, the 2D Zeldas, the SNES Mana/Seiken Densetsu games, or other such games like Hyper Light Drifter, you owe it to yourself to play it. This game's dungeons out-Zelda the Zeldas. It is simply fantastic. It even manages to pay homage to .hack and provides some interesting scifi ideas. All while providing a rich 40-80h RPG narrative filled with sidequests, backtracking and exploration.
I can attest to at least the PSP Ys comparisons.
8:28 I played through the whole game not knowing that this was something I could adjust... But thanks to that, I got really good at honing my problem solving skills and greatly improved my hand-eye coordination
Good on you, I do think they could have done better informing players of the option, but just having the option to begin with is important
this game has so much charm u get hooked on the gameplay the art style is so refreshing to look at im so glad i bought this its a gem that any action rpg fan should play

Never tought too much about the game from the start, kinda played at the start and then abandoned it, just to pick to play again and this time go beyond autumn's rise, and boy what a good decision, now it is in first or second place in my top 5 indie games of all time, along with hollow knight, celeste, iconoclasts, and i am currently fiding my top 5, probably blasphemous, great game, great video

You've got Great Girls in your banner, but I had no idea who the fourth one was... I see now it's Lea! Sold me on it :) I'm definitely concerned about the difficulty but I figure it'll be okay if I tick it way down lol
I'm sure you'll work it out, and there are of course guides if you need a direction for some of the puzzles

CrossCode is so good. Another indie game that I really like it's "Bug Fables". Turn based rpg à la Paper Mario. A lot of lore/world building, optional content. The music is also really good. It's quite a gem. :)

I can overlook some tedium in a game if its other elements are sufficiently polished. All of those elements were there for me with this game...but I could NOT get over how insanely annoying it was to fully explore all the "parkour" areas. The main dungeons were tricky enough while still being fun. I just don't see how they justify making each field path some Metroidvania-esque backtrack-a-thon. It was cool the first couple times you'd see a treasure on one screen and discover that the only way to get to it was to approach it from another screen entirely. They lost me when I got to the desert area and was seeing sometimes multiple treasures/gates/ramps that were blocked off with no reasonably discernable path that didn't involve having to look a bunch of other places through trial and error.
If a game is intentionally built to be obscure and make you think outside the box that's one thing. Otherwise I HATE it when you spend a significant amount of time on a puzzle only to wonder if you're even able to complete it when you first engage with it. Like maybe what I was trying WAS the solution, but my aim was just a pixel off after multiple failed attempts which had me abandon my efforts to look for another way. I've seen multiple people say you can skip all that stuff. I already went out of my way to complete everything I could in the first few areas, just to reach a point where now I feel like I have to use a guide if I don't want to spend hours trying to map out the multi-elevation mazes in my head (don't even get me started on how lame the map is)...yeah, I'm over it. I'm not gonna skip half the available content of a game just so I can avoid the stuff that sucks. If that much of it is causing me frustration then it's not fun anymore and there's no good point to continue.
the wave puzzles my first time around absolutely infuriated me (i had a hard time understanding the behavior of the bomb thingy when it warps thru walls)
luckily, the 2nd of the playthrough of the game was much better being vaguely familiar with the how to solves the dungeons
have you gotten thru the DLC yet?
The wave puzzles definitely necessitated a big mind shift to get through.
I have just recently finished the DLC, very happy with how it went.
I really loved this game but my biggest problem were the puzzles and puzzle bosses I really don’t like them that much. Some of the bosses were difficult and fun but those puzzles took way too long especially the final dungeon. The combat, story, exploration, characters,side quests and world building was really good. Lea was an interesting character because of lack things she can say but the way her facial expressions show what she thinking was a good touch . She a good character especially some emotional scenes in the game. Overall I give it a 7.5. I am going to play dlc a later date and also play new game plus.
The puzzles are I'd say a real make or break point for CrossCode. They're so essential for the gameplay but even for me, they ended up being a lot. Also definitely agree about Lea (hence why I have a whole video about her).
I have this game on Switch. It’s on sale on PSN currently thinking of double dipping. Maybe..
The game looks really pretty, the combat might not be up my alley tho.

I dont understand why this game was so popular.
I played the whole game and I never saw anything special about it.
Please tell me another game like it so I can enjoy a similar experience
@@genxvrx One game I enjoyed, not necessarily similar, but the graphics were good, was long days gone. Zelda also really good. Depends what you want to play and what you value most.
