I was having trouble with the lockout mechanism. It was preventing me from applying the back foot brake. So, I added several washers to the end of the mechanism, and bypassed it all together. Problem solved.
www.partzilla.com/product/polaris/3233830?ref=2e13ac1237222524704189ef104c0adb74dbef84 Compression spring. The link is for an 02 Sportsman 700, however ypu can search your exact model on partzilla.com. Once in your models parts listing sub descriptions, select gear case and you'll see it in there. Thanks for wayching @Doinityourself!
450 Polaris sportsman runs for awhile and then shuts down but seems to run ok after it has completely warmed up any ideas what is the trouble any advice would be appreciated
Best guess would be to clean the carburetor and all the jets inside of it really good. Before you do that though, try to get the idle screw set properly and the air/fuel mixture screw set correctly. See if those work. If not, then a complete cleaning is needed. Last thing, change your spark plug too.
Good job,answered my question,
Thanks
Great work ! Hopefully it took care of the shifting problem.
Thank you. Yes it worked.

Will that same spring fit the 2013 Polaris sportsman 800. If not you know a link to where I can get one?
Do you have this in a specific gear to start with?
Probably easiest if you do it with the quad in either park or neutral
Hey what’s the name of that particular spring? Trying to hunt one down… thanks!
