Hi Kasey, thanks for the effort you put into these tutorials. Great content and I love your humour. I have been collecting Contacts and Leads mainly through LinkedIn and in the majority of cases I have their email address. I want to make sure I have their permission to send them emails. I've classified them so I'm only going to send specific information to specific categories but as a first step I want their permission for me to add them to a list. I don't see a template that asks for their permission. I could use one of the Journeys like Simple Follow up or create one from a blank. I have emailed from the CRM and some of those have said Opt-Out so they obviously have not been synched with the CRM (Leads/Contacts) I also have some in Europe so i will need to comply with that too. Any suggestions on how to approach this? Thanks Steve
Hey Stephen, thank you for your kind words!! To comply with europe and GDPR the best practice is to use Double-Opt-In. I'm not sure if you're familiar with it, but it's kind of a pain haha. Those leads you are gathering you could first send out an initial campaign that alerts them in some way to the fact that they have been entered into your system. Basically, you could say thank you for showing interest in your service and we've added you to our mailing list, if you do not wish to be a part of this mailing list, please unsubscribe down below. Then by association if they haven't unsubscribed they are ok with being on the list. That's the easiest. I do have some other ideas if you needed them to specifically click something but the above is by far the easiset. As for Synching, do you have any synch services set up between CRM and Marketing Automation? That will definitely be the way to do it if you haven't set that up yet!
hey mate, how does this work with segments? what if i only want to send the information to a list segment. for example> i have all deals as a list, but within all deals i have segments based on filter criteria. This mailing list only allows you to choose top end lists, not segments of a list. how would you go about that?
So we’ve gone down the segments route with a client it’s been a bit of a pain. The reason it didn’t work for them was because they were constantly switching segments which was a pain for the automations. I might just recommend a list. And create a list based on the deal + a filter knowing what I know now about segments. Does that make sense?
@@Clientric yeah thanks so much, I also thought of creating the filter in segments as a filter to add a specific tag...and then use that tag add as a start of another specific journey... it's frustrating because zoho campaigns has segments as a start point not just lists... Keep up the great content, you like the only channel I can see that actually goes through zoho marketing automation
Thanks for the comment! What kind of content do you think would be helpful on your journey with Zoho Marketing Automation, we'd love to take suggestions.
I'm only 1:31 into the video and I just wanted to say you are a very good teacher. Thank you
Thank you for your kind words! :)

You left that sneeze in because it's entertaining?
We left it in to make sure you know we are human! I’m not sure robots have figured out how to sneeze yet 🤧 🤣
I have to say a tutorial that just mentions what is in plain view is not helpful.
