      I’m starting today! Using your basic meal guide and walking daily. Do you encourage strength training during the weight loss phase? I was strength training regularly but it was actually making it harder for me to stay in a calorie deficit. I was training pretty hard!

    • @trainerjoes
      @trainerjoes  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@kyleegarcia5569 strength work should be a part of everyone’s life but when you are trying to lose weight it is fine to focus on that and not on strength training. You can pick that back up when you reach your weight goal. And it is also fine to do strength training as you lose weight. But many people get to focused on the exercise part thinking it is the missing piece when the inappropriate relationship with food is actually the biggest monster in this fight. It is best to kill the biggest monster first.

    Trainer Joe you are so hilarious!!! Oh my goodness ,you're so motivating to me and you keep cracking me up in the process! I used one of your lines this weekend with a friend, I told her, "No I don't need to eat any dessert,, I'm eating the twinkie and chips on my butt from 1999 LOL" of course I used your funny accent when I said it. She cracked up, we were both laughing so hard. But it's true!! You're right!.. If I knew someone was going to give me $10,000 or shoot my cat I sure wouldn't eat that food,, it'd be super easy!!😂 I love your straight shooting style, tell us like it is, that's what motivates me!🎉

    I think #5 will help me the most! This will help to change my mindset! "If I get another helping, I will die!" "If I eat that big cookie, I will die!" Seriously, I was right at Type 2 Diabetes when I started. I will die if I don't get total control of this situation. 79 lbs down since last July. Thank you Trainer Joe!

    #4 Hunger is not your enemy, learn to embrace it!!!! I forgot to put my favorite point down,,, that is my favorite one!! Such a blessing you and your family are Christians, I am too! All glory to God!!❤ I've decided I don't want to be a walking billboard for sin and gluttony lol,, but truly, I don't!!! I laugh but honestly being overweight is so taxing on me in so many ways emotionally, spiritually and physically!! On the way to losing 40 lbs!! And I'm actually embracing it and loving it! Thanks guys!!

    1. Be intentional.
    2. Accept reasonable boundaries with food.
    3.It's not your metabolism, it's the chips.
    4.Hunger is not your enemy; learn to embrace it. it won't cause an eating disorder. It's o.k. to be hungry.
    5.You don't need more self -control; you need a deeper belief.
    steps 6-10 are in another video.

    When we are use to consuming 4,000 calories, the body adjust the hydrochloric acid upward to meet the demand. When you cut back to say 1000 calories, for a while your body will still produce a lot of hydrochloric acid thinking it’s going to get 4000 calories. This can make you feel anxious, nauseous, or make you eat too fast to get rid of the feeling. If we are consistent enough, the body will adjust the hydrochloric acid downward and that horrible feeling will go away. When I had diabetes, and I felt like I was starving to death, my nutritionist told me to just drink a little milk and tough it out. It’s going to be okay. I’m not saying starve yourself till you’re sick and neither is TJ. But, if you understand what’s happening, it makes it easier to reduce the food, imo. Godspeed everyone!

    Trainer Joe, so good to hear from you! I don't watch you as much as I used to (don't know why 🤔) but you are one of my favorites. I have a couple t-shirts of yours, your book which is great AND I even bought a 5-lb blob of fat of my very own and named him Otis, all because of you! You are quite the influencer, sir! I love your tell-it-like-it-is delivery and the Christian slant. I've never tried your program personally, because of a few items I don't want to eat but I'm thinking maybe I could try it and just leave those items off. Speaking of eating disorders, I have recently considered over-eating to be an eating disorder. What do you think? It's definitely harmful to our bodies and not healthy but just because so many of us do it, it's not considered a disorder, but I think it really is. That's my way of looking at it now. Anyway, thank you for so much common sense; we all need that. I am making a big move. Just purchased a spec home, moving from California to Georgia. Closing date is Tuesday. I had never even been to Georgia before and know no one there but after searching the entire US for a place with all of the things I wanted, Georgia was the only state standing. Can't afford anything in California so I'm going from the West Coast to the South East portion of the US. As the Bible says, Old things are done away, behold, all things are new! And yes, I'm taking Otis with me, lol!!!! Thank you, Joe! It's always a pleasure. Alexandra 🙂

      Based on what he says, I think it’s a choice. We know it’s not good for us to eat so much processed/fast food and convenience foods but we do it anyways. It’s not hard to eat healthy, it’s just different than the normal now.
