    Like your approach Mister Joe you are quite right. I walk with my dog couple of times a day. Emotional stress and eating disorder is the biggest problem.     I love your TH-cam videos. I’m 67, 5’ 1.5”109 lbs. healthy,(with abs even) and take zero meds. BUT I’ve been fighting weight since 7th grade and watching health videos has become a hobby. I love the father/son format and I appreciate the humor. I’m a Christian so I relate in that regard as well. Keep up the good work and challenging content!

    Are you taking into account what people do for a living. For example someone who works behind a computer compared to a construction worker. Personally I walk around a lot and get about 5 miles a days just from walking throughout my day.

    For years I wondered how a person could consider something so radical and potentially dangerous and not to mention expensive, as stomach stapling , which really only limits the amount of food they can take in, when they can avoid all that and just choose to not overeat in the first place. I know it’s tough. I make that decision everyday. It’s not easy but when comparing the radical alternatives, to me, it’s a no brainer. Do I need to tighten up from time to time? Sure. That’s easy compared to taking those desperate measures! Keep up your good, inspiring common sense advice, Trainer Joe! People need to hear it in a way that makes them think.

    Inflammation causing phlegm. Finally hit me. Not just thinking carbs hold water. Hopefully this will be the extra boost I need. Moderation never helped me. That box would be gone before the day was over!

    This is a great way for people to fall off their diet after a couple months or weeks. Total abstinence does not work for many people, that’s why so many people stop their diet after a short time.

      @@joeslinky I am not saying that you HAVE to do this to succeed at weight loss, only that it may be helpful for some. Don’t you know people who have sworn off certain foods or drinks successfully? I do. Soft drinks, donuts, etc. And it often times makes life easier for them.

    I didn’t realize how unhappy I actually was about my weight, nor how unhealthy I was until I started actually losing. My knees felt better, my blood sugar decreased, my hot flashes decreased, walking made my mood soar, I had so much more energy, even being able to get up off the floor just made life SO MUCH BETTER. You just don’t know ‘til ya know!

    It’s like tithing - you can do more with 90% of your time healthy than with 100% of your time fat, sore and slow. Plus, do you want fat kids? Because they will eat what you eat and move like you move, especially by their teens. Do it for them if you don’t love yourself enough to do it for you.

      Mine is bread. Especially as it is made fresh in our home. I could eat the whole loaf so bread is just a no for me.

    If I had a partner and they brought this up to me from a place of caring I would not mind at all. Also if they were to be willing to support emotionally through the journey of getting back to a healthy weight, it would definitely go over better knowing there was someone rooting them on. If it’s coming from a place of despising, resenting, or judging that other person then it would definitely be a problem so yeah it definitely depends on the nature of the relationship.

    Do a video on calorie density! When obese people say “I don’t eat much” usually it’s ‘just’ a pbj sandwich, chips and a coke-a small meal, but the calories of a huge nutritious meal of salad and protein. ‘How much food’ is really different comparing volume to calories and most big people don’t realize that (which is why food tracking is such a huge revelation).

    I'm sure you are sick of hearing from me all of the time but I can't thank you enough for helping me see the ridiculous bad habits that I had and explaining how to overcome them in a direct way. I call them JOEisms... The papers I have posted on my wall of sayings that were light bulb moments that I read everyday before I start my day.... Exercise is a standard not a goal.. how much fun do you want to wear? Etc... I was at a party the other day and stared at the chips and dip thinking of you and Paul pronouncing dip funny.... It's the deeeeippp.... When you were referring to the lady using her slow metabolism excuse heading for the dip at the party. I can never pronounce that word any differently anymore than the way you guys did... Lol... Love your bluntness love your sense of humor. I'm one of the rare people that have reached my halfway goal of 50 lb in 4 and 1/2 months just by reading your book and no direct coaching. I'm sure direct coaching would be helpful for some people. I know it's data but I only disagree with one thing that you guys say and that's weighing yourself everyday. I find that once a week is fine with me with giving me data and not driving me nuts with the normal up and down number on the scale. It goes down roughly a pound a week consistently so for me personally weighing myself once a week is what I found the best. But all of your other advice I think you are spot on. In the beginning I did weigh myself everyday to make sure my 1500 calorie diet plan was working. Thanks again for your support through your videos. ❤ Will let you know when I reach my 100 lb weight loss go later in the year. I am 61 years old with bad feet neck and back and I still push myself to work out everyday because of you. My starting weight was 239 my goal weight is 139 I am 5'6.

    You hit the nail on the head as far as eating more food is a hobby from boredom and just something to do. I decided to get more hobbies that were not food related and one of them was a regular workout routine swimming walking weightlifting to keep my mind busy from boredom eating.

    I have about 50 pounds to lose in six months for my wedding in July. I have very low self-esteem and struggle with believing in myself that I can actually lose the weight. Is it really possible to lose this much weight within this timeframe?

    It is not a matter of not being serious, if it was easy to lose weight, so many of us would not be the weight we are. People even knowing that being that big can kill us still can't lose weight, why? IF you never had to battle with weight not 5 pounds but 100+ pounds, you cannot possibly understand the struggle. No matter how many people you helped already.

      Because we don't want to make the choice. It's easier to just avoid it and pretend it's not that serious. To pretend we don't have a problem. Six weeks ago I made the choice enough is enough, i've got to stop lying to myself. Its hard but everyday you choose the healthier version of you. Don't give up!
