Well if I got the bad seat on Magnum I would rather take my chances getting out of the car than endure having my leg painfully jammed upwards for hours! That damn coaster needs new trains!

Sunburn or, in some cases, heat stroke would be my main concern. I usually don't take my hat or sunglasses on these rides (though I put a bunch of sunscreen on my bald head to try to compensate) and there's nothing to drink up there. If the evac takes a long time I hope they have the chance to bring water.

@@strapsgamingvids Rare is subjective and requires a comparison. Rare is irrelevant when it strikes you or a loved one. That's not paranoia, that's reality.
I looked up the number a few hours ago, and many of the injuries are caused by foolish actions, the same foolish actions that are taken when people over sell the safety and create the illusion that nothing can happen to them. How many of the injured thought they would get hurt or killed by doing something out of bounds of safety? But when everyone keeps over selling the safety fools will rush in.
Then there is the over reliance on the back up systems and none on actual thinking to pay attention to their worthiness in the moment. (The ride operator who let the oversized teen go up and fall to his death. All her training told her he shouldn't be allowed on the ride but the shiny little light said it was ok, so she gave in to the light and not her brain).
There are so many reasons people make stupid choices, from rider to ride operator,, to park owner that keeps most of the danger very real. Over confidence is a killer.
i dont really blame them for it tho. not everyone is deeply interested in the BTS of coasters and the whole point of their job is to get clicks, thats why they dramatize the absolute hell out of titles

I got stuck on Epcot's Spaceshit earth, while not a "harrowing" evacuation, there is a LOT of narrow dark uneven steps to have to go down to get out. Cast Members were pretty good about helping seniors down and provided our group a loaner flashlight as we had little kids that had to walk down. 10/10 it was very neat to see how dingy the inside of that ride was!
I got stuck on a lifthill once because they had to forcibly stop the ride to take a woman's cellphone away and when they tried to make the ride continue, the coaster refused 😂
I had the time of my life, because the girl behind me was having a panic attack and I explained to her how lifthills worked, just rambling about rollercoaster stuff so she would calm down (it did work) and I swear, nobody had ever listened to me like that. 10/10 would recommend the experience, would do again xD

Yeah as someone who operates roller coasters at Carowinds which is owned by cedar fair I have to stop trains all the time to take peoplesPhones and we wouldnt have to do that if people followed instructions and we normally have it continue on its journey no issues
Honestly, just having someone calmly explaining things was almost certainly a huge help. Other people being calm isn't a magic cure all but it does make it easier to manage issues.
I always found it odd that they would over report on the lift stops, but when Ninja hit that tree they kept things very professional.

I can understand putting accountability on theme parks that have it happen too frequently, but many news station will make drama out of anything nowadays.
So you think having confidence in safety features on a ride that has already shown it isn't properly functioning seems to be a good place to put ones faith? It's rhetorical that proper functioning rides don't require emergency measures or evacuations, and thus, create legitimate drama. Potential energy is desperate to become kinetic and on a ride that has already faltered, if that's not drama then the Titanic didn't sink, that over sized teenager didn't drop off that ride two years ago to his death, people on sling shot rides haven't died when their cables broke, etc.

@@ciclon5682 You are defining safety measures to include precautions, I am defining them to be actions at the moment of injury, so that's causing some of the distortion here. I am for precautions, but if measures means in the moment, then what I said stands, a functioning anything doesn't need emergency measures, because there is no emergency. It's a matter of what the words mean.
As for your comparison to airbags. I am guessing you don't know the details on those. If you look it up, you better have a strong stomach, what they do/did to children is horrifying. What they have done to adults is criminal (look up Takata to get started).
When seat belts were first put in they were only lap belts, and they were the cause of paralysis in many crashes (ripping apart the spinal chord),. Seat belts are so hard to undo and still are, that if you go underwater in your vehicle, drowning because of panic and not being able to get out of the belt is common.
So ironically, yeah, we weren't speaking the language in regard to measure, but yes, air bags and lap belts terrify me. And if you knew what I know, they might you as well.
I was on a coaster once that stopped at the very cusp of the first drop, literally half the train hanging over the drop with the rest still on the lift hill. It was unnerving but I never really felt unsafe, and the chain started back up after a few minutes causing the rest of the ride to occur normally.
Whats the name of the coaster you were stuck on?
Maybe it was because the next block station was occupied longer than normal?
@@RaphpowerSGSUModding probably the ops stopped it if the train was part-way over the lift. Most lifts will setup before the train is more than a car or two beyond the crest. Usually before any of the cars are over the top.

Every time I see one of these stories I think "Wow, I wish I could have been on that train!" I'd love to be evac'ed from a coaster especially on a lift hill! Sadly it has never happened to me, but if it ever did it would be a highlight!

Same here. Actually visited a place recently where a ride was evacuated on the lift hill, and I rode it later that day. It manfunctioned again when I was on it on the final brake run, and I got slightly excited for the possibility of finally getting evac'ed. Unfortunately, all that happened was that I was stuck in that seat for 15 minutes after they got it going again... In the pouring rain

My dad and I got stuck on the Beast at Kings Island and we saw an employee coming by and we both said "Heck yeah!" Then started chanting "evac! Evac! Evac! Until we realized the employee was just coming to ask us if we needed anything...
I just imagined a news story of a roller coaster stopping in the final brake run.
Luckily nobody was injured and the ride could be advanced to an evacuation point further along the track.

The only moderately exciting thing that happened to me on a roller coaster was when I was next in line to get on the next train. They chose that moment to switch out one of the trains or add an additional one (I can't remember what they did precisely), where they had to open up the storage area for the trains and connect the tracks so they could move the trains around. Took maybe 20-30 minutes and was pretty cool to watch (but also a little annoying because me and my friends were next in line XD). This was on MIR at Europa Park, probably about 15 years ago. That roller coaster is still going strong.
What irks me is they always use the word "stuck". If it's on a lift or brake run, the coaster is not "stuck".
OMG I've lowkey always wanted to be evacuated from that lift hill! Its such a chill climb and really relaxing and comfortable to ride. Sheikra is an overall fun coaster
I recall Busch Gardens Williamsburg at some point had a behind-the-scenes tour where you got to ride that service cart on Griffon. I don't know if they still do it.
@@MattMcIrvin ik they do this type of thing at cedar point on valravn on the sunrise tour (it is very expensive, albeit) and they allow cameras and gopros so you can get some banger ass photos of the skyline. also from what i remember the cart is smoother than a back-row ride on valravn lmao
It took me a long time to start riding roller coasters due to my fear of heights. When I was 15, my friends and family finally got me to ride the Lightning Racer at Hersheypark (only other coaster I would get on before this was the Comet). Nothing happened the first time I got on it. Later in the day, I got on it again on the red train (Lightning) and the train stopped about fifteen feet up the hill. Even though we weren't that high, I still freaked out but now I look back a laugh because we were at the bottom of the hill. Didn't stop me from getting on it again. I am still afraid of heights but I love roller coasters. However, I hope I never get stuck at the top of the hill of any coaster as walking down the stairs is more terrifying than riding the coaster.
"Rides will generally be evacuated to minimize guest uncomfortability." Unless you were on Montu, also at Busch Gardens, where a sensor malfunctioned the ride during the rain and a coaster got stuck for 20 minutes in a downpour. It was determined it would be safer to just let the guests get wet than attempt evacuation during the downpour and just waited until the ride let them bring the coaster back to station.
When was that?

The steps down the hill are metal, so they definitely would be slippery when wet. It would be safer to keep everyone there so that they don’t slip on the stairs and injure themselves.

My mom got freaked out over the news of Magnum getting stuck on the lift hill. I told her it was normal but she wasn’t convinced.
It’s really stupid when the news media overhypes situations like these. Saying that getting stuck on a lift hill is proof that roller coasters are dangerous is like saying a fly in your soup is proof that the chef is trying to kill you.
Getting stuck on a lift hill is the least dangerous malfunction of a roller coaster. I'd rather that happen over anything else
Telling someone that a product breaking down is normal seems an odd sell to convince them to trust that object and its makers. Telling people using emergency evacuation measures is what you should expect with these rides and that it is no big deal when you do. Have you considered selling used cars?
@@TheRadioAteMyTVexcept the ride didn't break down. It stopped. That's the key difference. The news makes it sound like a breakdown but it's not. Having worked coasters anything can cause them to stop. They are super sensitive so that nothing does go wrong

Defining break down, seems to be the issue, ironically showing a break down of language and communication. Always nasty when they don't line up.
@@TheRadioAteMyTVyour food processor hasn't "broken down" when it refuses to start because you put the lid on the wrong way and didn't engage the safety switch - it's just refusing to operate because the safety mechanism doesn't think it's safe to do so.
I wanna get evaced at Cedar Point just so I can be asked how scary it was on a news station. "What was there to be afraid of? It was operating as it should and preventing a potentially high speed collision with a train that it thought was in the block zone ahead of us. For those of you who are unaware, a block zone is a section of ride that only one train may occupy at a time. At the end of a block zone there is a method to stop the train, in case the block zone ahead is still occupied. This is the safety system that prevents roller coaster trains from colliding with one another."

While I was at Cedar Point for 2 days I saw 2 coaster stops, one of which I was kinda a part of. The first one was on Corkscrew, where the locking mechinism for docking wasnt working so we sat on the dock in our seats while the other carts waited. The worker was really nice about it, asking questions like "whats your favorite ride" to at least help the mood. One of the workers even walked up to me amd my friend and said "Im ganna be real with you, dont tell anyone but the ride aint working" so after like 20 mins they just let us get off while they fixed the issues. The other stop was on Maverick while we were waiting in line. We got on Steel Vengnce we actually met someone who was on the dock for Maverick but had to leave because of the stop. News reports blow the details out of proportion, and dramitize every detail just fot views.
Either Maverick gets stopped fairly often, or we might've been in the same line on the same day, lol. I was actually nearly at the front of the line before the stop happened, and when they made the call to send the line back all I could think was that I was glad I wasn't a little further up the line, otherwise I would've been stuck on the train and bored out of my mind while waiting for the evac, lol.

Got stuck on the lift hill on Superman at SFNE back in 2019. Didn't stop me from doing it the next time I went. 😁
I've learned from watching so many roller coaster videos how many safety precautions are put in place. Stuff for the harnesses/lap bars and censors, etc. I am still getting over my fear of coasters, but watching how safe they are makes me feel better. Out of all the coaster accidents, a lot were human error, weight, etc.
I love how the people in the 2nd story are much more chill and get the Situation right while the news trys to make them say that they are deeply offended and would never go again 😂
But tbh walking down these stairs would be the scary part for me, bc if someone slips it could be devestating
The news is in the business to get clicks to make money by being overly dramatic. As with any story they try to make news out of something that is not. I got stuck on the mummy coaster at Universal Hollywood at the part right before you go backwards. We were there for about 30 to 45 minutes before they pulled us off. Seeing the inside of that building was really cool.
The irony is the man with the cell phone could cause a ride stoppage. Phones on coasters equals bad.
When news reporters make people say "yes this was so scary I thought it was gonna fall back down"
The worst stop that ever happened to me was a 45 minute stop at the end of splash mountain. I can still hear the constant repeating song part of the animatronics.... the sound effects... the wet...
Watched people getting evacuated from Dragons Fury at Chessington - Dad and his Daughter got on the ground and the kid went "that was SO COOL!!" Tbh I'd love to get stopped and evaced on a coaster when it happened to me on Wickerman it was really interesting
The whole point of a thrill ride is to be able to finish it and feel that relief of living unharmed. That the kid would say the same thing from a different type of "thrill" is to be expected. That doesn't mean an emergency evacuation should be shrugged off as routine or no big deal. Nonchalant meet arrogance meet doom. It happens far too often, and I bet you can think of plenty example on your own.
Love it. “News” is really out of control these days. I flew from Orlando to Cincinnati on August 29 and when we got off the plane we got swarmed by reporters asking us about the hurricane. My partner said “what hurricane?” They were asking about Idalia. It was still over the gulf by Cuba when we landed. Hundreds of miles away.

I'm afraid of heights, so I chose my rides carefully. This would terrify me just because of the height. I wouldn't choose to ride this one because of my phobia. That being said, the safety measures worked and the evacuation process was spot on.

@@arturobianco848 Thank you, I did look it up on several sites. I saw the numbers. I never argued that it was not rare. How many people have been killed by guns on a movie set? My point was never rarity, it was begging to be the rarity. The people killed by guns on movie sets. The guy in NY who was an SJW killed by a guy in front of his girlfriend at 4 AM. The reporter in Philly who mocked Dilbert's creators and kept saying how safe Philly was, who had seven extra holes put into body last week in his safe neighbourhood, the woman who spent decades in Israel fighting for Palestinians who was captured by them on Saturday, and people begging to be on a broken coaster that has to be emergency evacuated. Sorry, not sorry for any of them. Not one bit. Rare is only rare until it's you or someone you love. Then it's not rare at all.

I got stuck on diamondback at kings island and everyone was freaking out! I was loving it! Knowing the engineering behind the lift hill allowing it to stop on the lift fin thing! They just reset the ride and on we went.
One of my favourite things like this was the smiler at towers, it got stuck for 10 minutes on the verticle lift and the british media will always somehow mention the crash. Its just funny because they always say something like 'the smiler stuck 8 years after crash'
The news people are ignoring that it’s really only a problem when it doesn’t stop!
I dont watch the news anymore, it just causes depression and anger.
And it doesn't cover the actually important things.
Just this last weekend I was stuck about 20 feet up the lift hill on Zambezi zinger at WOF. The ride was having a lot of issues that day. I honestly really enjoyed walking off because it was the first time I'd ever walked off a coaster. We were stuck for about 15ish minutes. We got free funnel cake vouchers which was nice because of the dirt and worms funnel cake for Halloween Haunt
I got stuck on Superman at SFNE once when the park suffered a power failure. An operator came up the stairs to let us know we'd be underway once power came back. Twenty minutes later it did and we were on our way. No news coverage
This is why I love that a lot of modern parks have videos in the lines they explain why rides can stop and that they’re rare but a sign of the safety measures are working
When a news station is covering what amounts to just another normal ride breakdown in such a hilariously overly dramatic fashion, you know it's a slow news day. LOL

We would look at each other and say

I've been on this exact ride at Shanghai Happy Valley. Interesting to see it's a clone! Happy Valley had the "Big 6" rollercoasters and this wasn't even the craziest one. The G forces you experience on some of them almost black you out.
I swear when stories like these get sensationalized, it must be pretty slow in the office and they have nothing else to talk about
I personally love getting evacuated off rides, I think it’s a neat experience and I like seeing how parks work in doing so
I used to work here at Busch Gardens Tampa during 2016 as a ride operator. It was a great job and my coworkers were also amazing to work with. I wish I could go back and work there again. My life was fun, productive, and worthwhile when I worked there.
I’ll tell you one thing, all of the rides are regularly checked everyday before we open at 7:30 am and we are not allowed to open a ride for the day if there was no maintenance sign off for the ride on that given day (there’s a sheet that maintenance has to sign and date everyday when they check the ride while the park is closed). Maintenance is always on standby if a ride were to malfunction suddenly. As an operator, as soon as we suspect that something is wrong we are to stop the ride and let maintenance check it out.
Minor malfunctions are somewhat common. Keep in mind that every ride is running everyday, all day. Also remember that this is Florida. The weather is very bipolar. Everyday has scorching heat and ridiculously high humidity. Heavy rain and mild wind is also incredibly common. The rollercoasters and drop towers are not allowed to operate with rain or even if it’s very windy. The weather is definitely one of the main reasons why all of the rides are checked everyday.
The usual compensation that guests are given in most malfunction situations are fast pass vouchers that the all of us keep on hand, although we also have vouchers for free food for minor stuff. For big stuff like being rescued by the fire department, it’s a decision for the supervisors to make.
In this situation, the malfunction seems pretty mild on the surface level, especially because it only stopped itself at the very start of the ride, but the evacuation process here is more complicated and must’ve been very scary getting off the ride here because of the height they stopped at. If I was the supervisor for this section of the park where the ride is at, I would compensate all of their expenses for that day. But that’s just me.
I will defend the news reporting tho because I’m pretty sure for most of us, the last place we wanna be stuck on a ride is ontop of a rollercoaster. Also, after the drop tower death at Icon Park (an hour away from this Busch Gardens) not too long ago, everyone is still pretty on edge about ride incidents. Not only that, being stuck on a coaster, it probably would remind a lot of people of the movie Final Destination 3 where they all die while being stuck on the rollercoaster. That would probably be the first thing I’d think of if I was stuck there.
There’s also a fire department station right next door to this Busch Gardens and my dad works there as a firefighter! The day this happened was his day off though. I was hoping to see him in the news footage here rescuing people. Oh well haha.
My audio interview would never be used on the news for something like this, or it would get terribly sensationalized, haha.

Thank you for this video. The news tries to sensationalize everything - you see it on youtube with words or phrases like 'you won't believe what happens next' or 'terrifying'. I've been to a lot of parks and rode a lot of coasters. I would much rather have a safety system trigger a stoppage than have some sort of larger issue. I have seen CP stop coasters on the lift hill because someone didn't listen or read the signs and they took out their cell phone to record the ride. I was stuck on the top of snake river falls at CP. There were 3 or 4 boats stuck at the top. Maintenance had to come up and physically push the boats through to the drop. As we waited some people freaked out and tried to climb out of the boats. In the end we got one of the one time use fast passes. Those are actually quite valuable but these days people want overcompensated for the trouble. I was surprised we got the single use fast lane.
I feel like B&Ms superiority is undisputed amongst industry and hobbiests. Theyre the reason i originally went to college for mech engineering but i switched to compsci but got to work for the industrial robotics industry for a while
The thing I hate about news is that everything is always pushed out to the max and they are telling a story with sugar coated words to make it seem way scarier and dangerous than it actually is

I've been stopped on the lift hill twice, both times getting to finish the course after the other train was able to clear the brake run. I've had 4 evacuations, all off the final brake run. Never did I worry one bit.
"Journalistic Integrity" is an oxymoron
I was stuck on the lift hill of King's Domionin's Racer 75 YEARS ago (called Rebel Yell back then). This is a dual track coaster. At that time they ran one of trains backwards. That's the one I was on when it got stuck on the first hill...and then it started pouring rain! It was actually a lot of fun! Took a while, but they got it started back up and the ride finished.
Literally why do news reporters be like "OMGGGG A ROLLER COASTER JUST GOT SAVED FROM AN ACCIDENT!!! THIS IS TERRIFYING!!!"
Even in the family coaster I worked on, when you e-stop the ride you have to call for team leads, wait for them to show up, decide who is going up to evacuate and who is staying to give our "I'm sorry you got evacuated" vouchers, those who are working on the evac have to do their safety "lock-out," get the doors unlocked to the lift hill, go up the lift hill, manually unlock each restraint, and FINALLY the guests are free. This coaster was only 28 feet tall... I cannot imagine how long it would take just to set up the evacuation for a massive coaster like this. Honestly 30 minutes is fast as heck!

I just recently saw pantheon get stuck at it's first launch and it was really cool to see them get evacuated, got it all on video too!
Its so wild this popped up in my feed RIGHT after I was correcting a bunch of people of ride "breakdowns" at Wonderland
I remember a few years back, the bat at Canadas Wonderland got stuck, and it was barely up the hill (like it went up for 3 seconds) and stopped and every news site treated like people's lives were at risk.
I think it's a testament to how infrequently these situations happen that they're this newsworthy
I saw Twisted Colossus get stuck on the second lift hill when I was at Magic Mountain recently. I think they just ran the train normally instead of doing an evac though. I got stuck in the block zone at the end on the ride before that one

I once got evacuated on Fluch von Novgorod (now Flucht von Novgorod but most people still call it Fluch von Novgorod) right before the lift hill. It was fun to see the tower with lights on. I don‘t think it would have been as much fun to be evacuated on the lift because the restraints cut into your thighs when you are on the lift hill.
How do they evacuate people from a vertical lift hill? I saw the Joker 4d Free Fly Coaster stuck in the Vertical lift hill for about 2 hours (was in water Park).
The compensation was perfect for the situation. A fast pass will help them recover some of the time lost while evacuating the other coaster.
I can’t speak for all these parks, but the amusement park I work at basically has a 15 minute policy that if they’re stuck for that long due to a trouble light/fault, then we’d start the process of emergency unloading.
Also wow, thanks news anchors for showing me that roller coasters due defect their own faults most of the time and that the trains stop in a safe enough place to be unloaded.
These stops can also occur by initiation of the ride op because some idiot has a loose article out. One time I was in line for The Great American Scream Machine at Six Flags Over Georgia with some friends and family, and a train stopped on the lift hill. After a quick walk up and back, the operator explained that there was no malfunction and he stopped it because someone had their phone out (I didn't see this, but my sister said the guest was even TALKING on the phone). He turned it into a quick PSA about not having loose items on rides before he dispatched the next train.
Any time there is an emergency evacuation that makes it worthy of a legitimate scare. Having to use emergency procedures to get to actual safety is not routine and thus should not be considered routine. Just because a ride didn't hurt anyone in the process doesn't leave room for cheering the process beyond that. Shrugging off anything that was forced into requiring emergency measures for evacuation underplays what emergency means. It's a big deal. For those who get a thrill off a coaster because they are terrified of heights, but can force themselves to face it for the 2 minutes of the ride, a long wait in an area filled to the limit of potential energy desperate to turn into kinetic, that's real fear for good reason. Then having to exit at those heights and climb down them is anything but reason for shrugging.
There too is also the idea of how much food and soda is in the digestive system and how long the rescue wait is. That's another real fear subject to the reality of the ride ranging far, far past it's 2 minute standard duration. The humiliation of expelling food or drink on oneself is another real fear for good reason.
Over confidence of the safety features on a ride that has already shown it isn't properly functioning seems to be an odd place to put ones faith. It's rhetorical that proper functioning rides don't require emergency measures or evacuations.

I don't know what's more stranger about this video, the fact that the guy who made it is downplaying how this is scary, especially for people who don't know all the details? Or the fact that so many people in the comment section just automatically side with him? It's just amazing how people will act like they know more then everyone else, and notice he didn't really prove how this is not supposed to be scary for people.
He actually says multiple times in the video that he understands why it would be scary for people. The point of the video is that it isn’t a huge news story for a ride to get stuck in a place where it’s designed to stop if a fault occurs. People can get scared all they want but evacuations are not unsafe, nor are they news stories.
I got stuck on a roller coaster once on The Beast at Kings Island and because of your videos I actually stayed calm and knew that we weren't gonna be bumped because of your videos!!!

I am disabled, not in a way that would make me endangered to ride but unable to climb the billion or so steps that would be expected in a situation like this. There are absolutely rides I have chosen not to ride because I worry about having to be evacuated knowing I'd either have to be carried down or taken by chopper which could potentially endanger other people getting me out. I am SO happy to see BG thought about people like me and came up with a better way to get down.
A little over 4 years ago I got stuck like that on millennium force. Nice to know cedar point still handles those situations by giving out fast pass vouchers
It's the same thing with aviation. Any unscheduled landing is labeled an emergency landing even if emergency is not declared.
I mean if I got stuck I’d be scared, but mainly because I have a fear of heights and am scared of everything. Saying that, I think knowing about how rollercoasters work and watching videos like these helps me out. I’d still be scared, but at least I could be calmed and help calm someone else down too. :)

I once got stuck at the top of raging bull. It was great how they dealt with it and I never thought to look up if our little 20-ish minute break made the news
They are called proxy sensors. A rollercoaster will have many of them. They basically tell the coaster's computer where the trains are and also the ops when it's safe to dispatch the next train (assuming guests are in, restraints checked and so on). Most likely trains will top on lift hills or brakes because of a proxy sensor error or trouble light.
As a local news reporter, I don't understand why news shows have such an aversion to not using so many adjectives. I work in print news and every word matters, we're taught to trim the fat and get rid of words that serve no purpose- in these newstories it's like the exact opposite where they feel the need to inject these adjectives like nothing. "Scary, terrifying" serves no purpose, if you're going to say that- say that's how you perceive it or better yet fin a witness to say that IE; *"If I was in their shoes, I'd be terrified", the witness said*
Speaking as a maintenance tech, it doesn’t matter if we can get the coaster moving or not, company policy is that the ride gets evacuated before trains start moving again. This actually applies to all the rides, river rapids, coasters, even flat rides. The ride does not move until the rider is cleared.
The coaster at the park I work at broke down on the main lift hill about a month ago
No news stories, No major headlines, just a safe evacuation with the riders tokens returned
(Coaster was back running in the last 2 hours of opening. all it was, was oil on the main lift hill cable)
I get google alerts to these stupid articles about rides getting stuck. It's all just fear mongering and spectacle. And honestly it gets even worse than this, I have gotten a couple alerts now about rowdy teens at Disney world. They didn't fight anyone or damage or steal anything, were just being annoying teens, which is as common at parks as disappointing pizza.
This happened briefly at my local park, no maintenance came, nothing, and we were back to heading uphill within 2 minutes
I was on the Spider-Man ride at Universal Orlando when it got out of sync and it felt like we were going to get hit by the precisely timed flames before it finally stopped. Of course there were no injuries and we were escorted off the ride, but rather than be offered a pass we were simply told that if we wanted to ride again we could go straight to the front of the line. I went straight the hell out of there!
By the way I consider that to be the completion of my three coasts ride breakdown, combined with the Star Wars Shuttle at Disneyland and the Rattler at Fiesta Texas. Just once I'd like to get through a whole day at an amusement park without being escorted off of a ride...
It's wild that Magnum got stuck(the breakdown in the vid) the last day I was at Cedar Point on my Ohio trip. When it did get stuck I was on my way to Kings Island where I was on the last train of the month on The Beast. Ohio is amazing😍
