I've gotten stuck on coasters a bunch of times and having all my coaster knowledge that's stuck in my brain, I usually like to look around and calm the people who panic. Happened on a lifthill once and I had a full blown nerd moment where I explained to someone, who was having a panic attack, how lifthills work and why it's impossible for us to roll backwards even if the chain rips apart.
Other than that, I sit and hope I don't have to go to the bathroom anytime soon in case it takes longer than a few minutes xD
Recently I got stuck in a dark coaster and all the lights went on so I looked around like ":O" and the guy next to me started to try and calm me down. I wasn't anxious at all, I know my coasters and how they work but it was a really nice gesture.

I got texts from my sister months ago when my family was at Kings Island after they got off of Orion. They were stuck on the lift hill for about 10-15 minutes. I instantly texted back either something happened that the next section wasn't clear, error with sensors causing a stop, etc.

Kudos for calming strangers down on rides! If you want to count it as a coaster, my mom got stuck on Gringott's at Univeral once. She was a single rider so she was with a dad and two little kids. Not only did the ride stop but they turned the lights on signaling that it would be awhile before they got moving. The two little kids started freaking out and the dad wasn't sure how to calm them down. My mom leaned over and gently told them that nothing bad was going to happen and, with the lights on, started pointing out various mechanisms and showing the kids how the ride works. By the time the ride started up again the kids were disappointed that they couldn't see the mechanics anymore

I've been at Busch Gardens a few times when a thunderstorm hit. Well in advance of the storm hitting, they start making an announcement warning guests to prepare for potential severe weather. There will always be misinformation out there but channels like yours, El Toro Ryan, Theme Park Crazy, etc. are all why I was able to go to Cedar Point and enjoy what I was missing out on for years of my life.

Presenting entertainment as fact has probably played a major role in the shitty state of affairs the politics of many countries are in today. It is incredibly dangerous in general and it should be illegal for mainstream media to do this. If you want to prioritise entertainment over presenting facts, you should be obliged to make it clear that you are not a news reporter or educator.

I can say as a ride op, probably the most common cause for ride stoppages we experience come down to guest action in some way. Of course, it's far from the only reason for a delay, but it's a significant factor. Always follow the rules and be aware of what's happening around you when at an attraction - one poor decision from a guest can cause a pretty significant delay for the x-hundred others waiting in line!

Yes, try and keep your heart rate and blood pressure stabile. You can usually do this by thinking of happy memories, keeping you mind anchored on 1 thought at a time, and actively thinking about keeping your muscles relaxed. Not all of this is needed, but it would apply especially when upside down.
If all else fails, ask your fellow riders about something they are really interested in, especially if they are anxious. Not everyone can stay calm, so you should always try and help, it will keep you both calm.

While I can appreciate them at least giving one good piece of advice (stay put and don't mess with your restraint) that is the only actual helpful and informative bit. And that's exactly what you should do in this situation, no matter where you are stuck. Stay put and wait for someone to come tell you what is going to happen, which will usually be either an average evacuation from a place designed to evacuate you from, or that they're going to evacuate you some other way, or in some cases, they'll just advance you to the save evacuation zone, but that's relatively rare. In almost every case you will already be on the safe evacuation zone. People end up evacuated almost every day because of some minor issue. If a ride stops on the lift hill, there's a decent chance some dingaling took their phone out and someone is coming to confiscate it for everyone's safety. It is scary to get stopped, but you are safe and in good hands that will help you.

"Coaster trains DO NOT have brakes!"
Many do not, but there are exceptions to the rule. "Alpine Coasters" and "Scenic Railway" coasters (such as the one in Melbourne, Australia, which has the record of being the second oldest operating roller coaster in the world) both have manually-operated, train mounted brake systems (except at the end of the ride, where stopping a train quickly if the train-mounted brakes fail is a must.)
I'm certain you already know of these exceptions, but I thought it wise to point it out, as not doing so is misleading in and of itself.

thrill rides are tricky, because their appearance is daunting and they appear unsafe to the general public, having major mainstream channels spout nonsense about ride safety for views wont really help this view at all
"make sure you do your research if this ride has gotten stuck before" just makes people more scared about a mundane lifthill stop, plus this general trend of these channels painting the picture of getting stuck upside down when you can count the number of times that has happened on one hand is just getting people more worried about potentially being stuck upside down for hours. its fearmongering, if there's any industry that likes doing this, its mainstream media, it gets people scared of coasters, in turn they'll watch more videos about ride incidents, and then those channels get more views because those people wanna know more about ride safety

As a ride operator who has operated coasters before... what was the first presenter's plan for when those "ropes attached to it to keep it oriented correctly" encounter the support structure of the attraction? The track isn't free-floating...
Also the misinformation in the original videos did so very much psychic damage to me.
Two minutes of research was really too much for them, huh?

To be honest the 2 videos that you showed from the two channels that I saw are compleat nonsense and I have watched one of the videos that you have shown in the past and it's very rare that you would get stuck on a inversion on a rollercoaster ride because of a rollercoaster where to mouth function the block bracks would automatically stop the train halfway across the ride

It was mostly just incorrect information about how you’ll get out, and I guess a bit of unnecessary advice/overkill in regards to not being the first to ride and stuff. Did I miss the part that actually tells you to do the wrong thing?

The sheer amount of fear mongering and disinformation about roller coasters is insane. All those “would you ride this” videos or armchair engineers who know nothing about these complex machines, making others scared.
I’ve even had a coworker years ago who went to Cedar Point tell me they didn’t ride Dragster because it “swayed too much.” They claimed to be an engineering student and that the swaying meant it could fall over. I told them to reread their textbooks on very tall structures and that inflexible, rigid structures are more likely to break under high stress. Must have blown their mind to learn that skyscrapers sway.

Seems to me that the script is written based on some google searches and send to an animation department without much further communication. So the script already contains some errors because the writers didn't understand what they found. And the issues get worse because the animators have to guess what they need to draw based solely on the text they received.

Cheap, content farm 'entertainment' channels that brand themselves as educational or factual sources are one of my least favourite types on the platform. In my opinion, it's becoming a real problem in society in general - people aren't interested in facts or experiences from people with real industry experience, they just want quick, clickbait stories.

title seems misleading, the videos get a lot wrong but the one thing they are both correct on is what you should do if you're stuck on a coaster, that being wait for help and for the love of god don't try to undo your restraints. so by calling it what not to do you're saying I should try to get out by myself?
