Great review as always. I was lucky enough to be taught this game a few weeks ago, and ordered a copy before the game had finished. I completely agree that the theme does a lot of the heavy lifting [pause for effect] and the production isn’t the best, but it has an undeniable charm that almost seems to lean into the all over the place aesthetic.

This seems like it has some interesting mechanisms. Holding onto the oof tokens would seem to make it easier to hurt your back on subsequent rounds so you need to be more careful in the first couple of hands. I might not like the 2x zero card. It seems like it gives someone too much power to decide who get's oof'ed. Seems like a game worth trying though. Thanks for showing it!

Is there an error with scoring of top left player ? They were looking to hit their bid at 2 boxes but went over with 4 boxes, right ? Looks like an interesting game.
Don't you bid on how many points you will win in pinochle? My grandparents tried to teach my brother and me how to play that, but it seemed really confusing with the melding and trick taking
