I put over 2.5k hours into all the souls games including KF4 and DeS, I don't play a lot of games anymore but the music takes me back to my late teens :)
@@justjared3061 Don't let people hamper your enjoyment of the game, I know DS2 has problems and I'll occasionally rage at them lmao, mostly janky gameplay, but you really cant let that take away from the enjoyment of this super unique game. Your first playthrough should be around 100hrs if you are thoroughly exploring.
It used to be my cope to go back and replay the souls game, particularly ds1, whenever I was going through a hard time. Listening to this takes me down memory lane
So I gave this a listen, and this one is _very_ fascinating to me as I have always written off Dark Souls as a "horror game" in my mind due to the title name of the game and how dark everything is in the game even if I _do_ see any footage, ahahaha. I'm still unsure if it is or if it isn't a horror game, as a quick Google search says it is just an action game or dungeon crawl, whereas some people think it is either a horror or an action game or both, with varying degrees of what they think is scary. 💦 Aha, I'm derailing from my original intent to comment. So, what I actually wanted to say was just, I didn't expect this type of game to have anything that sounds like it could be _calming_ at all! Calming, maybe somewhat haunting, and can be very beautiful at times. I am very shocked! PS : Also, ah. I never realised there is some footage of gameplay! I wasn't looking at the whole video when I was first listening to this. 👀 I'll give the other uploads a listen sooner or later, I forgot to check them, these past days. 💦
I wouldn't say dark souls is a horror game, maybe Bloodborne (a spiritual successor) has a lot more horror elements, but some people might be creeped out by some enemy designs or tense areas in the Souls game. I definitely recommend it if you're into action games, people call it the hardest thing ever but it just takes persistence and eventually you get good at the game. All the Souls games are very pretty and have amazing atmosphere which is what draws me to the games the most, Ds1 and 2 I'd say are my favorite aesthetically, both have the most calming tracks/areas in the series as well
@@CryCafe Fascinating 😳 Although I think that this game might not be my cup of tea as I usually go for more "cartoony" or "anime" designed games, I will keep that in mind if I ever do get to play it. :)
It's not like a traditional horror game like Resident Evil or Silent Hill, but there are some pretty petrifying moments. There is always a sense of danger looming over you, because you know that even the most simple enemy can cause your death if they catch you off-guard. Each area only takes a minute or two to get through if you familiarize yourself with it, but the first time going into any small room has a tense feeling, because you don't know what to expect.
Just found these an absolutely love all this. Takes me back to when I was at uni and first discovered Souls. Thank you so much

I put 42 hours into dark souls 2 and I still have 12 places to find. So much to explore :)
ahhh, ds2 was notorious for hiding bonfires behind illusionary walls
The worst DS
@@STARLIGHT_KSA the worst ds? Yes, but still a pretty decent game. (Currently rocking the elite armour set and great sword)

Big budget hollywood movies wish they had score this great.
اذكر كنت اشغل سوني بس عشان اسمع اوست ذا وقته كانت ايام حلوه مرا
bro your mixes are god like thank you
I always felt like the character creation music from Dark Souls 1 and the save music from Resident Evil 4 were very similar if not the exact same!
I was always thinking the same thing since I booted up DS1! However, after replaying RE4, I confirmed that game's save music slaps twice as hard.

I love that you took the extra step and also added clips of the areas as well.
Still the best DS mix on TH-cam 🖤
32:59 the phantom fighting an enemy lol
Character creation music is unmatched in vibes.
Thank you for including KF4 in here! You can really trace a lot of the Souls game dna to it and I'm glad to see others including it in the series ❤
Well done, i think all the best tracks are covered so far 😊
My man you slammed this out of the park!
Much thanks and appreciated
God level song selection bro thank u

Dark Souls is part horror, part action, part comedy, part tragedy, and partially turn-based

Excellent ost choices👌 the only missing one imo is the DS2 credits music, but amazing anyways
gracias.
OMG It is the first comment! Thank you for this video♥ I'm dark souls lover.
Lovely mix and great KFIV inclusions - Eternal Ring also has some similar tracks worth checking out.
I am almost like in the Dark soul universe. How did you mad that atmosphere in 3D? SO great job and i am now your fan!!
*are you the next monarch or merely a pawn of fate* This for me is the whole meaning of the souls game .
That's the Emerald Herald right?
DS1 Char creation is Goated ;
Would you ever upload an isolated version of maiden in black with the ambience you used here?
this is on my other monitor then this guy came out of nowhere and gave me a startle 16:05
BOO!
