For sure! If You like that idea there is interesting device "ultralife A-320" portable amplifier for dismounted soldiers - turn handheld radio into manpack (20W) - from what I read work well with DMR/Analog - whatever future waveform You put into it :>
It's not for sale, I bought it as visual eye candy prop for my replica. I paid couple hundred bucks - with was very good price (couple years ago, just back then did not had right replica for it, I had plastic one) and because of that I would assume it might be not working (it clearly seen some action because there is dust that looks from dessert). I would be scared to plug 5K genuine radio to it to even try. Visual effect is stunning, inside look like "real deal".
Seems the Tri is more popular than tca, but note tca 2023 has working gps and can be programmed via computer, while tri cannot, it can also have its band opened up …I may have to buy a tri in addition to the tca sigh
I bought TRI because it was offering more power, around 15W so it's basically manpack in Your hand. TCA is much nicer and can be programmed via phone app. As You can see both them have strong points so depending on use case You need choose one that suit more.
This VAA only works with the real Harris radios and only certain models.. PRC-152/PRC-152A, RF-7800M-HH, RF-1033M-HH and RF-310M-HH. The VAA isnt dumb and it talks to the radio, you need the real radio to verify the health of the VAA with a BIT setting. Other Harris radios from the Falcon 2 line and most of the export Falcon 3 series 7850/7825 series also dont work on it. I dont think its possible to simply change the pinouts on the VAA to work with the replica radio. The radio is normally operating in a frequncy hopping mode like SINCGARS, Havequick or Quicklook. The radio will tell the VAA what frequncy to prepare for during the hopping proccess.
Thank You for insights - I was sure this is case and never plug it (I cover pogo pins for picture with tape) . RF-310M-HH start popping out on eBay so maybe one day I will try it out?
I'm watching this on my TV right now, I think/hope you're going to plug your fake Falcon into the real SINCGARS mount. Will there be smoke? I see more Russian R-187-P1 Azart radio's finding their way out of Ukraine. They have great coverage, 27-512 AM/NFM/WFM/TETRA/SSB/GSM/GPS/HOPPING/ENCRYPTION. I think you need one!
It will fail - that TRI replica is outputting power and TX/RX using those pogo pins - if they touch something on real one - for sure it will get damaged - if I get real one (not 152 but something export allowed that got same shape) then I might burn good radio by fault developed by ruining amp - not worth risk or at leas not now. R-187-P1 Azart looks amazing - one day I will get it - I seen them on eBay but for today - outside my scope. I'm wondering does it support TEA2 on Tetra - did Russia get official access to it?
I have a couple of Azart radios working Tetra DMO together just fine. But I can't get my Motorola MTP6550 Tetra to talk to them, they don't even see it, though the Motorola see's and hears them. So either I've got a setting wrong or the Russian implementation is flawed. I"m experimenting with Tetra right now. I'll let you know if there is TEA1/2/3 in there if I get that far. They have a key entry section which I'll try next. I have a feeling it is a proprietary security protocol and not up to TEA2 standards.
@@NigelBallard Hear like understandable voice so both share same vocoder? It might sound stupid but have You take look at spectrum analyzer? Maybe in RU they have different channel spacing than we use and it's just offset so difference came from how strict rf filters are? Sure let me know and also I would love to see video about them.
@@ElectronicNoobBlog The Motorola will have the genuine AMBE vocoder chip but the Azart does everything interesting in a Xilinx Spartan-6 FPGA so most likely the implementation is flawed. I Don't have access to a good enough SA to check but I'll ask around. I have some video's of the radio in action, what's a good Email to use?
@@NigelBallard electronicnoobblog - gmail - com , so basically if there will be firmware update they can reprogram FPGA on fly?, looks like commercial one? Was not there scandal that Azart was basically manufactured in China and just "pieced together" in Russia just to looks like it was locally made?
Yeah! Very nice charger!! Jokes aside, that thing is so cool! Inlove the idea of turning a handheld into a base station 👌

Awesome presentation brother
Thanks for the visit
what is the price for the amplifier ? , I have a prc152 airsoft radio
