- Learn how to unlock the Gold summon sign for Hornsent in the Messmer BOSS fight in Shadow of Erdtree. This summon can be easily missed since it's inside the boss arena. Hornsent can also be missing from his usual place at the site of grace. Watch this quick video to see how to find him again if he's gone.

I’m all for a little difficulty, but whoever in FromSoft thought that it was a good idea to put the summon sign INSIDE the boss arena needs a demotion. This applies even more so for Bayle.
Its useful tbh becahse then the boss health doesnt scale to the ammount of attackers.

I was able to summon Jolan (not as a Spirit summon but as a cooperator) for fight. She was fricking amazing alongside my mimic

@@RPP312 I had almost completed Ymir’s quest but hadn’t killed Metyr yet, killed the invader outside Finger Ruins of Miyr (Jolan’s sister) and talked to Jolan
Then I decided to face Mesmer

Yeah I used him after I back tracked to Shadow keep and exhausted all dialogue of a couple of characters- needle knight and arabach. Used mimic and his sign is out in the open to the right inside the room. Took about 4 times to beat that a**hole

@@trevorbennett7161you do the count ymir quest. Do first ruin then go back And talk to the count and then her and she will say she trusts you and will help you. You might also have to find the secret area and kill her sister. I'm not sure about that.

@@__MXRAi__GAMING__ nope, I did everyhitng correctly. I was able to summon Hronsent during messmer fight and after that he invaded me in later location, so I killed him and got his set eitherway :D
@@ronchek i did it for my brother account 5 min ago and after talk to him all of the speech it appear in the boss fight with golden sign

Bro i need to know what happen whne you defet messmer with him cause i rest in the god dam bonfire n he dissapear 😢
If you progressed his questline until now then after you rest by the grace he will reset and spawn next to the throne in the room. You can then talk to him and after you exhaust his dialogue he disappears. The dialogue is about how even after killing messmer he is not satisfied and that he is gonna hunt down marika and her kin basically.

After meeting messmer, you have to go again to the horned and speak with him. Then it works.

Most useless summon ever
I’ve always hated the so called quests in Elden ring. Faint hints and obscure clues. Make one wrong choice and the quest is gone and loot with it. I envy pc players and back ups. I never saw the summons in shadow keep, killed Mesmer and now
Hornsent is depressed and disappeared, so he’s probably making off making tik toks for validation. Time to find freya and ansbach and hope I can kill one of those mfs
After 5 houts I beat him I die probably 100 times actually more but it was worthy
