Man I had admiration for this gentleman when I heard him sing but to not go lower than B1A1 and yet claim C1 with a technique that is not singing … it’s kind of ridiculous, there were people like JD Sumner that actually hit those notes in full voice
Several of the great bass singers of the previous generation used different techniques to get low notes out. Some say JD used fry to sing so low. We know Ken used different techniques but so did the likes of Mike Holcomb. To name a few there are Ken Turner, Mike Holcomb, Tim Storms, Ian Owens, Anthony Davis, Wyatt Austin, and others I can’t recall at the moment. Needless to say, just because you cheat doesn’t invalidate your singing. I promise that the majority of the audience is totally unaware either way.
🙏🇺🇸🌅
Ken Turner sounds as he did when he sang with the Palmetto State Quartet.
Good
Ken Turner one of the greats
Low notes: G2,D2, Subharmonics G1 and D1.

JD could hit low notes, but was not a great singer, so there's the rub.
