This song isn’t really a sad song tbh, this feels more like a song wrote because of memory. Our most valuable asset. We are wanting to get older and more mature. But when we stop to think for once we realize we took for granted the good times. This song makes me cry every damn time. I miss my childhood so much. When i was 13 we moved to a big city where the trees grow in cement flowerbeds. I love this city, i do. There are so many new things i can do living here. But i really miss the simplicity of the old place. Everyone knew each other. Me and my friend used to spend every summer together in the countryside. Every day was full of fun things. I used to grow plants from a seed to harvest. I've seen how tadpoles turn into frogs - every stage. Lizards, hedgehogs, moles. The fresh air, the fresh vegetables, the healthy and delicious food. I miss all this so much. Once in a while i would dream about that place, those times and people. The next morning i would tell it to my grandma and we would talk about that time for hours remembering how great it was to live like this. Now everyone including myself is so busy every day. And i am busy and tired enough not to remember about the wonderful past. But when i see or hear something like this song i get overwhelmed and start crying because this was the great, the best time of my life. I was truly happy. I hope someday I'll get this happy again.
This reminds me of my older brother... who passed away on August 29, 2019. In the morning hours, I woke up at 5:30 in the morning, went to his room to wake him up, but what I found was him having a heart attack while asleep. I called my dad and we tried to revive him but it was too late... and that was the last time he'll be with us... We have so many memories, dreaming together... I'm just saying this. we pick up things from our parents as we grow up being there offspring. some of those things are good but some things can also be bad. when someone listens to a song over and over it just doesn't always mean they like the song. it can sometimes mean they are suffering in silence with poor mental health so perhaps listening to the same song over and over because your father did it doesn't mean its a good thing for you to do yourself. i mean it took me along time, years in fact to realise i had picked up some of the bad ways my mother has and later in my life i stopped doing them because i realised they where the negative aspects of my mothers personality that i had leant from her subconsciously in my early years. without realising it we pick up our parents ways but some of there ways are not always good ones to follow. that is something we should watch out for in our own lives.

My mother died 10 years ago, I was only 12 yo. I remember listening to this song with her, watching the clip on TV and singing along. We loved it so much we knew all lyrics by heart. 10 years later I still do. They hit differently now though. I don't listen to it very often but I once in a while feel the need to come back here. Just to share this moment with her, wherever she can be... maybe somewhere only we know ♡

This song makes me cry every damn time. I miss my childhood so much. When i was 13 we moved to a big city where the trees grow in cement flowerbeds. I love this city, i do. There are so many new things i can do living here. But i really miss the simplicity of the old place. Everyone knew each other. Me and my friend used to spend every summer together in the countryside. Every day was full of fun things. I used to grow plants from a seed to harvest. I've seen how tadpoles turn into frogs - every stage. Lizards, hedgehogs, moles. The fresh air, the fresh vegetables, the healthy and delicious food. I miss all this so much. Once in a while i would dream about that place, those times and people. The next morning i would tell it to my grandma and we would talk about that time for hours remembering how great it was to live like this. Now everyone including myself is so busy every day. And i am busy and tired enough not to remember about the wonderful past. But when i see or hear something like this song i get overwhelmed and start crying because this was the great, the best time of my life. I was truly happy. I hope someday I'll get this happy again.

This reminds me of my older brother... who passed away on August 29, 2019. In the morning hours, I woke up at 5:30 in the morning, went to his room to wake him up, but what I found was him having a heart attack while asleep. I called my dad and we tried to revive him but it was too late... and that was the last time he'll be with us... We have so many memories, dreaming together... But then I realized that despite what happened, we all have our own destinies. Goodbye, my brother, I hope you'll always be happy.

I’m so sorry, I almost lost mine past year, I had to pay 1500 in exams and he vomited and got better , I think he ate a poisonous flower or plant. Animals are more close and loyal than humans in many cases.

This song holds a special place in my heart. It came out when I was a junior in high school. My dad would drive me to school everyday and I replayed this on my Keane CD every day on that ride. I'm 33 now and recently got married and used this as the song I danced to with my dad. Because we listened to it together every morning for a year.

I had a good friend in high school where we would often sign this song in our English Language class. We would sing one line each because we were the only fans of Keane and it would annoy everyone else and we really loved (I still do) this track. He moved to Gibraltar a few years later to live with his mum and he now has his own family. So whenever I hear this song, I think of him and wish I could live those carefree days again. So if you are reading this David, I hope you are well and happy. I miss you my friend. I need to get back into Keane again. I've read that after six years away they are going to be working on new material this year and they have settled their differences. It's been seven years since their last album was released (Strangeland). I would welcome them back with open arms.

Years ago, my dad went through a time where he would sit in his room and listen to this on repeat. One day he called me in and had me listen with him. Now that he's passed, and I'm a bit older and had some life experience, I understand completely. Listening to this on repeat just like he was.

I'm just saying this. we pick up things from our parents as we grow up being there offspring. some of those things are good but some things can also be bad. when someone listens to a song over and over it just doesn't always mean they like the song.
it can sometimes mean they are suffering in silence with poor mental health so perhaps listening to the same song over and over because your father did it doesn't mean its a good thing for you to do yourself. i mean it took me along time, years in fact to realise i had picked up some of the bad ways my mother has and later in my life i stopped doing them because i realised they where the negative aspects of my mothers personality that i had leant from her subconsciously in my early years. without realising it we pick up our parents ways but some of there ways are not always good ones to follow. that is something we should watch out for in our own lives.
