    Hey Jonathan, curious topic I'd love for you to explore more. Was thinking the other day regarding the whole 2012 Mayan "End of the world" scenario. Where they claim that the earth will experience a "polarity shift". Most people took that as meaning the "physical" poles of the earth shifting resulting in a massive climate catastrophe but the more I look at where the world is now and how it has so drastically changed since 2012 the more I think the "polarity shift" occurred within the metaphysical or inanimate world (within our morals, within the cultures, within the politics, etc.) With what was good is now "evil" and evil now "good",etc. etc. With the world seemingly so inverted all around it just feels like the great shift in poles occurred quietly and behind the veil so to speak. Would love to hear some of your thoughts regarding this, thanks! Keep up the great work, love your content. It syncs up so perfectly to my thoughts and many observations I notice all over society today.

    it's amazing to me how well this pattern nests in the other dominant patterns today. The very way science functions is by seeking and challenging the furthest place from the center, and tricking that monster on the edge of the world to reveal its secrets, Karl Popper even draws a circle to represent the state of a scientific theory and explain the dynamics of how they interact with others. Not to mention how uplifting and positively reinforcing that attention to the edge means that we lose sight of the heart or even ourselves. It's so common to think that we are outside the system looking in, like we can take the place of those monsters on the edge of the world and pick and choose which circle we belong in depending on how we feel that day. seriously surreal and honestly vertigo inducing if you can find a static rock. It's surprising to me how civil society has managed to be up until now

    Flood in a way reminds a process that takes place in our brain when we sleep. If I'm right it's a process where cells shrink and waters take out metabolic products.
    If metabolic products stay there they may interfere with communication of cells and their health (and some say that it relates to a state of grogginess that people may have when they didn't have enough sleep).

      Fuerthermore there is zero good reason to interpret Genesis literally as you do.

    • @vituzui9070
      @vituzui9070 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Electro_blob 2 Hmm no I don't pick and choose. I faithfully follow the teaching of the Catholic Church. In order to interpret biblical text you have take into account the kind of text it is. Genesis is not a historical not a scientific text, therefore there is no reason to interpret it as such. Even saint Augustine said that if some scientific knowledge contradicts Genesis, then there is no problem in saying that Genesis is not literal. The Gospel however is meant to teach history, and this is why the Resurrection is rightfully interpreted as historical.
      And yes, dust is not alive, and this is precisely why dust is inferior to an animal. There is more perfection and complexity in a monkey than in dust. This is why it is more fitting for humans to come from an animal than to come directly from dust.

    There seems to be a bit of a difference between degeneracy and shamanism. What about all the cave art that are half man and half animal? What about the Egyptian hybrid gods? I once was in an ayahuasca ceremony with a Peruvian shaman. I went through the entire life cycle of the mammoth from birth to becoming a full grown male to then encountering and becoming the humans that hunted me. I could feel the sensations of my birth to the cold snow on the ground. I could feel the great love the humans had for the mammoths and I had a sense of all the songs that were sung and all the campfires that burned for thousands of years. I don’t remember this experience that I had with the plants like a dream or like a normal memory from my life. It was like for a brief moment my DNA opened up and I remembered and relived a part of the whole world’s consciousness. If we are to survive this time I think we must make a place In our world to remember where we came from. We must be able to loose control but find a new control much the way that someone learning to ride a bike for the first time goes through. We have to trust that we will be held up. We should do this together with nature and with Christ . To preserve we must be able to endure. We can sit for eight hours a day if need be like a Buddhist. We can take the strongest Amrita if need be. Christ endured. Christians must learn to endure and remember. If a man is given just a tiny amount of our shared cosmic memory then he will be able to fish himself. It is our birthright to remember. It can be said: By this merit may all obtain omniscience. May it defeat the enemy wrongdoing. From the stormy waves of birth, old age, sickness and death, May we free all beings.

    I know this isn't truly like chimera symbolism, but I have been thinking for some time that the rise in Androgyny is something like an internal form of Chimerism. I've also been thinking a lot about the dehumanizing things that have been ramping up in the last year or so.. and though I hadn't though too much about Chimerism being related to this I have been thinking that this seems like a necessary step to lead into, later this decade maybe, more cyborg type things. Like a ramp up in implantable tech and eventually more exchanging of body parts for better, faster, stronger tech versions. There definitely is a small, but growing number of cyberpunk groups that are into this already and have already been experimenting with biohacking with tech/chips/etc implants. I just think you would need to dehumanize mass amounts of the young into not identifying with any gender/sex/etc so that as adults they will want to start with implants and progress further. I know it sounds very conspiracy, but I don't actually mean it that way at all... as I'm not even sure it's intentional or just a natural movement slowly in that direction.
    I come from an Astrology symbolism background myself, so I don't have the Christian part so much, but I've been really loving your videos as I love all things symbolism (hence the astrology). It's given me a much deeper appreciation for Christian symbolism and myths since my Evangelical Christian upbringing was completely literal without any symbolism at all. I've never heard any kind of symbolic Christian thinking besides some random encounters with Christian Mystics.

      I believe all these things (androgyny, chimeras, transhumanism, etc.) make sense if you see them as manifestations of Gnostic thought. For example, Gnosticism considers the male-female distinction as a corruption and the result of an inherently flawed creation by an evil demiurge that we must overcome. Straight from the (Gnostic) gospel of Thomas:
      "When you make the male and the female one and the same, so that the male not be male nor the female female [...] then you will enter the kingdom."

    First, the mingling of two species can produce a superior progeny: for thousands of years, humans have bred horses and donkeys to produce mules. Mules are tougher, smarter, hardier than either parent species. (See biblical examples for the preference for mules.) This is known as "hybrid vigor" or heterosis.
    Similarly, I see the beauty of marrying and mating across differences too. Consider Moses marrying the Ethiopian, Jesus' own forebears. Whereas the quasi-incestuous dynasties of Europe produced a lot of hemophilia.
    But the greater the difference, the more there are problems. Mules are sterile. Same for tiger trout (brown trout and brook trout) and all other interspecies hybrids. They cannot reproduce.
    And species of a different genus CANNOT reproduce, even to yield hybrids. Sexual intercourse does not bear young.
    My point is not to say, "But science...!" But rather, that there's meaning here too: There's something essentially false about the Minotaur and sphinx and chimera and other such monsters; they ought not exist; they wreak destruction when they do.
    Open to correction.

However, we almost promote the mixing of other races of people together.

    Ive recently come into JOnathans work on youtube and as an sda protestant the symbolic view he takes of the world and cosmology in general as a converted orthadox Christian has more resonance to my relation to my reality and view of the world and creation and i would like to understand some of the subject matters he raises.
    So im going through the playlist of work he has on his channels and wherever it takes me lol, not going through it to fast as to not burn myself out and never come back lol but i have a question pertaining creation and symbolism and God, i ask it here cause i dont know where else ill be able to reach Jonathan the question is, is it plausible to think that in a world of so much sin and so much meaning at the same time (and alot of that meaning explicitly found because of the sinful state of the world such as Christ bringing us life from death and plenty of other examples)that creation was meant to go down the sinful way given the symbolism and meaning found in everything? or are the logos and logi of things as we see and know them now independent of our sinful nature and thus environment? or is or was everything still going to have the same purpose/meaning/reasoning as they do now in perfection or had adam not sinned? to extract the understanding that has been imparted on us revealing great mysteries over the millennia since creation with the experiences they came with from the crucifixion to the covenants of Abraham Jacob and Moses and so fourth and especially considering the fact that we are possibly allotted an angel to lead us to the Creator and one that leads us away, is and was this trajectory of humanity the initial primary start of creation? Was Adam supposed to sin for our own good including the rest of creation from the angels above and demons below? ( ive tried to ask the same thing in different ways to get the understanding of thought across)
    ill post this on a few more videos in the hopes Jonathan answers thank you.

      @Ace Virtus... that's the point of symbolism... I mean, if the Masons can wow their brick-laying buddies with centuries of symbolic stories based on a trowel and a plumb bob, then anyone can subjectively apply symbology, but there is a definite pattern...

    • @MWHildegard
      @MWHildegard 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ricerealtor980, is that really just the end of it? Pageau, speaks with at least some tacit authority on current events.
      For example, he’s been recently saying that the current state of decadence is going to lead to some sort of authoritarian backlash. Maybe that happens, but I have the suspicion that even if it doesn’t, Jonathan is going to claim he saw it coming in either case.
      I really do enjoy symbolic thinking, but I feel like it there needs to be some sort of empirical temperance in order to keep a semblance of a concrete view of things.

If you look at what you find at the overlap, it isn’t so for from the category of chimera or hybrid. This isn’t so different a description. And you also have to look at that category as distributed in itself with various levels of hybridization, with the tail ends of the distribution taking you back to the initial categories outside of the overlap.

    The difference, though, between thousands of years ago and now, is that we are now able to materialize these marginal patterns in an almost materlialist way. Meaning that chimera in the past were a lot more shadowy. And by that I mean that we probably told chimera stories about sightings of species we hadn't discovered yet, or animals or humans with physiological defects or mutations. Now we are actually going to produce chimera by mingling the dna of different species, something we have never been able to do. The same with vaccines, where vaccines were in the past, something like ritually drinking blood or injecting venom in order to kill the present disease. But now vaccines have become actual injections of disease that kill the disease, in a more material causal way. It's going to be very very strange times.
