Yes that’s right 💕 I know this now but don’t think I did (or thought of it) when I did this vid. Thanks for sharing for anyone reading the comments and curious about the CE! 🙏🏼
The blender mix thingy is definitely on my list of attachments to get for mine after seeing you talk about it. I’ll be getting quite a few attachments. Actually it will end up saving me a lot compared to buying a separate appliance for each function I’ll be needing.
Love the overview and insights into the 4200. I was torn between the 3200 and this, but decided as it was an investment that it made sense to go for the more powerful motor and facilities. So far, so good. It's helped me make a better second cheesecake and an excellent tub of homemade mayo, but I've only had it a couple of weeks! One thing though - I can confirm that the blendermix does help avoid spillage as I discovered when I didn't use it, though I suspect it depends upon the viscosity of whatever you're blending. Make yourself 400ml of water with squeezed lemon, throw the two halves of lemon in for good measure and watch what happens without it. All in all though I wouldn't take anything from them for that, otherwise I'd probably blame a hammer for not being a good screwdriver. Loving the kit so far!
Hi Gavin, glad you've enjoyed my videos! Mayo and cheesecake sounds like a fantastic start after only a couple of weeks! Happy to see you're happy with your choice. Yes I totally believe that the Blendermix can help avoid spillage, especially with a lot of liquid! The comment in my video here was more in response to a comment on a different video that this was the main purpose of it, rather than blending, which isn't quite right. But I'm sure it can save you from a bit of a splash at times 😅Thanks for your comment!
@@TheFromScratchBody Ah ok.. got you. Yep enjoying it mightily. It's greatest achievement to date is making kale edible (kale shake with a spot of coconut oil, raspberries, blueberries and blackberies), but I think it's next finest hour will soon be helping me to make cinnamon & chocolate chip cookies, and carrot cake.. though cheesecake is a tough one to beat.
Hi, thanks for your review which is really clear and helpful. After some deliberation about which food processor to buy I have now settled on the magimix, but I'm undecided about which model to buy. I live on my own and already cook all my own meals from scratch, and frequently cook for my partner, my children when they come to stay, and occasionally for family and friends. I'm lucky to have a reasonably sized kitchen although of course the cupboard space is all full at present (aren't they always full?!) but I think I could make room for possibly even the largest model. What would be your recommendation about which model to go for please?
Could have done with this video last week 😊. Decided to search for best food processor expecting to spend about £100 and ended up buying the Cook Expert 🤣 I did use your affiliate link though as your vids were helpful 😊👍
Haha, that's quite the jump from £100! But I have the Cook Expert too as you will have seen and I'm incredibly happy with it. There is no end to what you can do - you'll have so much fun! Hope you're enjoying it!
My pleasure, thank you for watching! Tough one to answer really, I think the food processor can help you avoid having to get a blender, but just for practical reasons I have a blender as well (a small VonShef), which is great for a quick smoothie that I can just drink out of the jar I blend it in... I guess it depends what you need to use it for!
Thank you for this nice presentation! Which size food processor would you chose, if I mainly use it for making a big salad every day? With raw veggies including beets, carrots, red cabbage, cauliflower, brokkoli, etc. I'm considering everything from the mini up to the 5200 XL. Thanks for your help!
Hi and thank you for watching! Depends on the size of the salad I’d say, I would be inclined to recommend bigger if you have space for it as that gives you more freedom (it can still do small batches)! If you are thinking of the 5200 I’d say probably go for that! 💕
The Blendermix attachment does actually fit into the lid if you are blending large amounts of ingredients. You put it into the bowl if the amount you are liquidising is small. The object of the attachment is for a smoother puree, not for mixing - what it does is while the blades are revolving it pushes the mixture in an opposite direction which creates a vortex against the blades in the bottom of the bowl - in an attempt to replicate the action of a conventional blender - thus making a smoother puree. All this information, by the way, is according to Magimix. However, in my experience, the Blendermix attachment still does not produce a a smoother purée like a traditional blender would, but the difference is marginal
Love the video but my issue is I have a 5150 which came with a manual for the 5200 and cannot find answers about the two shred/grating discs - they are reversible - I would just like to know clearly what each disc does on each side...cannot find anything much online about the 5150
There are quite a few reports that the magimix expert falls short of the thermomix when turning seeds etc in to flour. Is this still the case? Or have they overcome that problem? I’m still deciding on which product to go with… also you mention you have kept that piece from an earlier processor (sorry forgotten what you called it) but it keeps the ingredient away from the sides of the bowl. I’m thinking that may sort the problem with milling better.? Also can that piece be purchased separately if they aren’t supplying it? Many thanks 😊
I definitely think milling is where it could improve a lot. I can’t compare as I’ve not got a Thermomix and haven’t tried, but yes although the BlenderMix helps, and you do get flour from nuts etc, smaller things like seeds are hard to mill!
The 5200XL includes a number of accessories not supplied with the cook expert even though your essentially getting a 5200XL included. The fact they leave all these out when you choose to pay a $1000 more for there top of the line machine is a bit poor.
@@TheFromScratchBody Blendermix, Citrus Press and Accessories Box for the standard 5200XL. And for the 5200XL Premium also the Juice Extractor and 3 Disc Creative Kit. Given they come with the 5200XL, and for the price, you should be getting them included.
This is a great question (sorry for slow reply) - yes I have noticed water coming out of it the odd time I’ve chosen to put it in the dishwasher (usually wash by hand). I don’t really have an answer for you, Magimix definitely want to avoid dirt traps so when I get a chance I’ll ask them about the handle and see if I can get an answer re the design of the handle! 💕
Hello, I have watched your videos and you really convinced me buying this food processor. Would you recommend buying a blender and/or stand mixer when you have the magimix food processor? Or can a few attachments just do the same work?
Hi Bjorn, that's great that you've watched my videos and that I've helped you make a decision! I personally would have a blender in addition to the processor, if you use blenders often for juices/smoothies etc, but you could probably go without a stand mixer in addition. It really depends what you do often and how you like to cook/work in the kitchen! Let me know what you decide and how you get on with it! Liv x
Thank you for a good review! I just discovered Magimix this week since we need to replace our old food processor. What I like is the big opening, the long guatantee and that it has three sizes of bowls. However I just realized, if I got you right, that I cant use the slicing discs together with the big bowl - only the medium!? That is a really big disadvantage. So is that all accessorices takes a lot of space to store... Is it correct that I can only use the slicing disc with the medium bowl? Another question is if food preparing in the smaller bowl will also make the big bowl dirty, so I have more washing-up? Regards from Sweden :)
Hi Rakel in Sweden! (Jeg er norsk 😁) Yes it is a shame, but the slicing and grating disks only go with the medium bowl. And yes, sometimes the content from the smaller bowl will spill and you’ll have to rinse the large bowl too. It doesn’t always happen and it’s not usually a big spill, but it’s the main flaw of that design in my opinion. But other than that it works so well practically in so many ways!!
@@TheFromScratchBody The medium bowl fits inside the large bowl and the spindle goes into it. The discs are smaller than the diameter of the medium bowl so are perfectly safe to use. The instruction book also says that the medium and large bowls are for use with the discs
@@countkostaki well the medium bowl has to be inside the large bowl, surely? That’s the only way? And I don’t really count the discs being inside the medium bowl when it’s inside the large bowl as being in the large bowl? Am I missing something?
