I see a lot folks here and other forums calling this old tech and disparaging it. As someone who is a Professional Sound Engineer and Musician I can tell you this. 24 bit 44.1 is 24 bit 44.1 it doesn't matter who puts it out. Whether it's Digitech, Line6, Boss etc etc. The biggest difference is how you get the tones, diversity and type of fx, gains and switch latency. This unit is perfect to this day for using as an FX only system. Just that alone saves you a shit ton of $$. The quality of the FX are on par with most stomp pedals. Go ahead and buy 12 quality stomp pedals new and see what it cost you compared to this. Couple that with the fact that this is an all in one unit and you can do 4cm with it and it's worth double what it's selling for new. Sure.. if you want plug n play don't buy it, because you have to set it up to your liking and this takes hours and hours of tweaking. If you want plug n play go spend 1500 on a Helix..even then you still have to tweak it. I own and play through Multi FX from all the major manufacturers including Boss, Line6, ZOOM, Fender and the RP-1000 beats them all hands down for FX and diversity of use. So before you go shit talking a piece of gear try it first. You can coax good tones and FX out of just about any multi fx unit if you experiment with it. I saw a lead guitar player last night who had some of the best live tone I have ever heard using an old A.R.T system from the early 90's.. who'd a thunk it? Wanna rip something? Bring something to the table.
I just bought one toboxmonster and I knew that going in but just couldn't take the boxes and wires and I love it! It rocks through my marshall and then into our PA its just deadly people.
In the manual, there is a diagram for 'Amp Loop using Guitar Amp's Pre Amp'. Basically you hook the RP1000 line out to your amps FX return, then your amp's FX send into RP1000 return. Finally, plug the RP1000 Amp Loop Send to the input of your amp.
best review on here.Love the gilmour strat.I just finished buying all the parts for my own black strat project excpet for the fender fat 50s neck pickup.it will be awesome to use with my Blackstar HT-20 arriving tomorrow!I need one fo those digitech but for now amplitube 3 and guitar rig 4 will do.
I've got a RP1000 on lay-away right now and cant wait to get it in October. For the price your paying it's really worth it. My favorite amp selection is the Mesa/Boogie Triple Rectifier. I play a late 80's or early 90's B.C. Rich Warlock Neck-Through with Seymour Duncan's(not sure which SD pickups they are) w/ a custom paint job, needs a replacement back plate to cover the controls(still searching a company online that sells B.C. Rich back plates if you know of any send me a PM).
This is the best sounding unit out there imo. Everything else just sounds real processed. Then you have axe effects that sound mega awesome lol but cost its like sky high lol
You can do Amp/Cab bypass with the RP1000 and just use the effects, which you can switch off and on as if they're individual pedals. You can also program each preset as if they're completely different pedalboards.
@sunburst909 First make sure the Amp/Cab bypass is off! That will allow the modeling to come through. If your amp does not have an effects loop, there is no way to bypass the preamp of your amp so you are stuck with your own amp. You might want to find a clean model on your Peavey to start with and then use the presets on the RP000. Good luck! PGS
Comme d'habitude une vidéo d'une grande qualité.Essais clair,précis, instructif et trés bien joué.Pour un futur achat cette vidéo est trés intéressante, merci.Bonne route.
PGS do you think the digitech rp100 will sound good with my fender blues deluxe..im always worried about digital effects coz i dont want my tone to sound digital.but when i heard it in your demo it turned out very nice, ihope you can demo some more effects of this...thanks..peace
For your stock Marshall head/cab preset, I'm assuming you're turning on the Amp Loop button. Are you then setting the amp and cab on the RP1000 to DIRECT? I'm having volume drop issues with my Rivera Chubster when using the Amp Loop and the 4 cable method. Thanks for any help!
what is the better choice for a bedroom rig replacement(+home recording interface)and a setup with a tube poweramp(4cable method)and cabinet for rehearsals and gigs?rp1000 or pod hd400(they are about the same price)?I hear that pod has better amp sims and more tweaking possibilities, but digi has better FX and stompbox sims+it has additinal loop,so that you wouldn't loose the possibility of using loop for some pedal while 4cable method?and digi comes with cubase bunde, while pod does not afaik?
@ProGuitarShopDemos I have been watching multiple demos of this unit for some time now. My question is how is the Noise Gate on this unit? If I get this, would I have to have an external noise gate or does the one in the unit itself work properly? I would be using this as a preamp of sorts.
PLEASE ANSWER! Can you use the rp1000 as a footswitch for your amp? You know, change the chanels in the amp but also use fx effets such as delay, reverb, etc?
Can you save a preset that would include the stombox loop option? For instance, if I have an overdrive in the stombox loop, can I have presets that already have it activated and ones that have it deactivated wihout having to hit the stombox loop switch?
i have a Peavey Vypyr also and I want to get the RP1000 but i'm confused, can i leave my amp on bypass and then still work the pedalboard or will it only work if i change the amp effect? Like if i used my tube screamer effect on my amp would the RP1000 still work on top of it? I want the RP1000 so i don't have to use just my amp effects so can it just run the effcts already programmed into it through my amp?
Great demo, Andy! Are you using multiple cabinets for each of the amp models? Triple Rec, Twin, AC30 or using just one cabinet model and changing the amp model? Sounds amazing!
Hello Andy!! between the RP 1000 and the Zoom G9.2tt... which one would you recommend if I already have a tube amp? (considering the 2 tubes on the G9.2tt) Also, as far as I'm aware... the G9.2tt does not have a looper... and that's something I will miss ... = / thanks dude!! =)
So basicly, witch button on the RP1000 to I have to press to completly bypass it, having just the tone from my amp (while using the 4 cables connection) ?
Is their anyway to only get the sounds from the rp 1000 to come out of your amp. i have a peavy vypyr amp and even on preset mode i can still hear the sound of my amp it only alters it. i want to get the exact sound the rp 1000 is making not my amp. thats why i bought the multi effects pedal in the first place. to get all the 100 customizable presets and everything else of course but its no fun to use if it barely changes the sound at all. please help me
I'm in the same mode as you! Been watching demos, etc. I like the TC but I'm not sure if I'd like to just go with the RP 1000 because I don't have an expression pedal yet. Also, not sure I want to get into all the amp modeling. I am impressed with this demo showing that you can always turn off the amp modeling even within presets. That's pretty cool. TC Nova System also has MIDI and I can grow into it. Where are you at in the process?

Master help me a lot at this days
I just bought one toboxmonster and I knew that going in but just couldn't take the boxes and wires and I love it! It rocks through my marshall and then into our PA its just deadly people.
I owned the GT10 and have played the 500, both have their distinct vibe so whatever you choose will be good.
i got one of these for free, it's totally sick, i love it. i play on it for over 6 hours a day now. this thing is a dream
This was a great demo. Because of the demo I''m going to buy this for myself on my birthday.
That's our Royer R-121 ribbon mic we use on all the demos. Thanks,
PGS
yes you finally presented some metal settings and playing.good demo
THANK YOU for giving some attention to amp modeling - nowadays it's much better than people think!
How about running a POD X3 thru that Plexi next?

wow. Havent heard them bones played in a long while. I used to play it myself, love it!
A+ for Them Bones. Saw them last saturday open with that song. amazing.
It's 'Shiver' by Coldplay from their album Parachutes.
THAT is EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!!! THANK YOU DIGITECH!!!
One of the top three reviewers on TH-cam. I could even say THE top reviewer.

Wow... That sound like a Mesa Boogie!!!
Thank you Andy I'll keep that in mind.
The noise gate in the unit works good.

At 3:59 is "Animal I have Become" by Three Days Grace, and Never Too Late by Them soon after.
You, good sir, are a riff MACHINE.
I still like my Gnx4. Sounds just buttery through a Vox.
something crazy man...a real dream come true
Hellz Yea! I thought the GT 10 was nice, this sounds way more usable.
Awesome that Hey You was played, good choice!
Yeah. The BOSS ME50 - that's what I have too - it's wonderful...
I have TC Nova System and it's absolutely great!
These actually sound great through a Blackstar HT-5. There's a video of someone demoing that elsewhere on TH-cam.
3:55, animal I've become three days grace.
Yes,a Tuner is included
actually sounds good. what's that cab micd with?
The burst Strat is a Custom Shop, Custom Classic.
There is a converter program on the digitech patch website, plus a whole bunch of patches
Nice Strat by the way. Is it a production line model or something from the CS?
great job on slither!!!!!
never thought id say this about a digitech multi fx (after having my RP250), but wow...
@HigherDownHere - Royer R121
PGS do you think the digitech rp100 will sound good with my fender blues deluxe..im always worried about digital effects coz i dont want my tone to sound digital.but when i heard it in your demo it turned out very nice, ihope you can demo some more effects of this...thanks..peace
i hear some coldplay there. shiver! =P
Your not hearing any camera audio.
how are you getting a heavy sound out of that single coil? is it a humbucking single coil?
Digitech are the best pedals ever!
100 presets and you can make your own fron dist,delay,fx/chorus, reverb, wah, and compress
This or the Line 6 HD 500? lol. I like the big numbers on the display here for half blind old buggers like me.Cool demo Andy, thanks.
when andy started playing the gilmour strat. i became comfortably numb.
Exactly.
How does a noise gate work?
what is the better choice for a bedroom rig replacement(+home recording interface)and a setup with a tube poweramp(4cable method)and cabinet for rehearsals and gigs?rp1000 or pod hd400(they are about the same price)?I hear that pod has better amp sims and more tweaking possibilities, but digi has better FX and stompbox sims+it has additinal loop,so that you wouldn't loose the possibility of using loop for some pedal while 4cable method?and digi comes with cubase bunde, while pod does not afaik?
what setting is used for Lynard Skyard's Gimme Three Steps, and The Guess Who's American Woman?
Andy: could you please tell me what make/model the pedalboard is? Thx!
That sounds killer. Any chance on you guys doing a vid on the GSP1101
Thnx so much but I was looking for the RP500 is it worth it or should I wait to have enough money for this one?
is that a david gilmour strat he plays near the end when he plays the hey you solo? ...niiiice...
How good is the quality of the effects, like how much to they sounf like the real thing?
thanks
To work alternating real and simulated amplifiers with the amp/loop switch on, do I need the amp/cab bypass to be on or off?
I'd be pissed if I had a mesa that sounded like that.
@ProGuitarShopDemos I have been watching multiple demos of this unit for some time now. My question is how is the Noise Gate on this unit? If I get this, would I have to have an external noise gate or does the one in the unit itself work properly? I would be using this as a preamp of sorts.
Is there anyway to get Rush's Limelight tone out of that Multi effects box? If so tell me what I should program, thanks.
PLEASE ANSWER!
Can you use the rp1000 as a footswitch for your amp? You know, change the chanels in the amp but also use fx effets such as delay, reverb, etc?

"twin reverb" refers to the Fender Twin Reverb amplifier preset on the unit.
i have a Peavey Vypyr also and I want to get the RP1000 but i'm confused, can i leave my amp on bypass and then still work the pedalboard or will it only work if i change the amp effect? Slither! Sounds great!
does it sound good with a solid state?
@sunburst909 why would you buy a modeling pedal to use on a modeling amp?? they just interfere with eachother.
Great demo, Andy! Are you using multiple cabinets for each of the amp models? Triple Rec, Twin, AC30 or using just one cabinet model and changing the amp model? Sounds amazing!
hey is there too much diference between this and the rp355? and is the rp355 as good as this one?
at 2:45 he plays in clean
i really want one of these bt do u know if this will work on a line 6 spider jam??
dude it is a wah i have this pedal and it is realy great condition
what does he play at 3.20, i know that riff but i can't seem to recall where it's from !
could you connect this straight to a speaker cabinit? without a head unit, since it has pre amp models on it?
Hello Andy!! between the RP 1000 and the Zoom G9.2tt... which one would you recommend if I already have a tube amp? (considering the 2 tubes on the G9.2tt) Also, as far as I'm aware... the G9.2tt does not have a looper... and that's something I will miss ... = / thanks dude!! =)
Is this a good buy even if my amp doesn't have an effects loop??? Like is it worth it for the effects and distortions.
i'm really thinking about buying this unit but i'm not entirely sure if the modeled pre-amps sound legit
So basicly, witch button on the RP1000 to I have to press to completly bypass it, having just the tone from my amp (while using the 4 cables connection) ?
is there a drum machine and a tuner?
hey, can you use more than one effect at the same time? like a whammy octave down and an envelope filter? or some combo such as that?
I dont understand why you would need other pedals. Doesn't this come with the sound sof alot of pedals built in?
Can it control and change channels on an external multi channel head?
Does It have a looper?
What Delay timings does it have?
Can you play with multiple Effects at the same time?
Is their anyway to only get the sounds from the rp 1000 to come out of your amp. i have a peavy vypyr amp and even on preset mode i can still hear the sound of my amp it only alters it. i want to get the exact sound the rp 1000 is making not my amp. thats why i bought the multi effects pedal in the first place. to get all the 100 customizable presets and everything else of course but its no fun to use if it barely changes the sound at all. please help me
