- In this video, we show you how to use the OBDeleven to perform the coding required for reverse mirror dip. This will allow you to have the mirror adjust downward when in reverse, allowing you to parallel park or prevent wheel curbing.

If you add this coding to a MK7 without memory seats the mirror will always return slightly higher than it was originally. There are a large number of people over at VWVortex with MK7 Rs and GTIs that can confirm. It does it in my MK7 R.

Yup. I retrofit the folding mirrors on my 7.5. It returns to the correctly spot sometimes, but other times it’ll return to a spot that’s close, but slightly higher than how I had it set. Very annoying, but at least I can see the curb now
Can you get this to work on both sides? L and R whichever is switched to when parking?
I tried twice to do this but it gets stuck on the working part and nothing happens all of the other apps work except for this one any advice of what I'm doing wrong?

This makes no sense, I don't understand it. The video describes the feature selected to dip mirror from the factory called 'lowering in reverse' so what does app do in addition? Anything?

SO hold on so you have to turn the mirror switch to R (or left here in Oz) before you start to reverse? It does not automatically do it in reverse... I suppose if you just run over some idiot walking across the road and want to make sure I did a good job and select reverse to run over them again you do not want the mirror/s pointing down to the back wheel do you...
Hello DAP, I have a question about the dip function. I have already coded via OBDeleven as instructed. That said, when I come out of reverse and start to drive I notice that each time the sideview mirror resets from the dip, it gets slightly higher and higher until I am forced to reset it manually. Now here is the question. Do I need to purchase a different module for my car (2015 R with DCC/NAV)? Thank you for your time.
i retrofitted power folding miror and now i don't have anymore dip in reverse, any help ?
My 2012 Eos I have a mirror issue that just started lately. When I use button to fold mirrors the fold ok. When I try to open they both open but right mirror "chatters" about 30 seconds the stops. When I say chatter seems like maybe it is trying to open more but cannot. I wish I knew how to re set or re sync mirrors ?

I know on the Mk5 you can link the passenger and driver side mirrors to move together in the MFD display menu, so can this be done on a Mk5?

Ok this is very cool. I did Google this and there seems to some disagreement on whether or not you need the power/leather seats option to have it return to your preset position when you're done.. can you confirm this?

Hey DAP, I've recently picked up a mk7 golf and i was just wondering if it was common for the reverse camera to only work sometimes. eg I'll reverse and camera comes on but the next time i put the car in reverse it won't work is there a way to fix it or i should just contact my dealership. thanks

This is very strange on my MK 7 TDI 1.6 from 2013 this option was working without any codding.
Seeing as you have a 1.6 TDI I'm assuming you're not in the US. And I bet you have memory seats? The MK7s with memory seats do this from the factory. The proper functionality of the mirror dip is directly tied to the memory seat function.
I have a 2016 Golf R in the US and we don't get memory seats. I have coded this mirror dip on my car but when you put the car into drive and go, when the mirror returns up it always ends up going just a tad to high. This happens to anyone in the US who has coded this in.

tech_gear okay so what I did was enter the wrong car type. Get in contact with the support on the app and ask them to change to your car then they should all work.

no
You wouldn't brick your car but if you go in and start changing things with no direction or understanding what the intent is then you could end up changing something your didn't want to. As a general rule you shouldn't start changing things unless you know whats going to happen when you perform said action. We put out a ton of info around this to help people understand how to use this tool for various reasons. Hope this makes sense

This is in the manual guys... Mk5 and maybe Mk6
Rotary mirror knob in 'L' position.
Stationary, engage reverse (clutch down obviously).
Use mirror knob to adjust for kerb view.
Take car out of reverse.
Dipping will only occur with the rotary control in the 'L' position.
Normal position is adopted at 10mph.
L being RHD cars, and for those which are coded. For LHD cars, the mirror position must be in "R". In NAR cars (US/Canada), we don't get mirror-dip enabled by default.
