    Sorin,you should require customers to sign a document with your terms of service.And whenever anyone sends a board only,there sould be no warranty at all.Trust me, it keeps bad customers away.

      The problem are negative reviews...not terms of service... ... google+ is much more important that a lawsuit right now... reviews can close a shop.

    Big mistake taking in motherboard only jobs, they often come back and bite you in the ass. If customer doesn't like it tell them go somewhere else. If it goes wrong they will always blame you and your reputation. I don't ever accept motherboard only jobs.

    Another lesson learnt, something so trivial could mess up a good job. The manufacturer put it there for a purpose and it's always best to put it back as it came out. Thanks Sorin!

    Never expect manufacturers put a foil on PCBs for nothing. If they can spare something they'd do it to lower the cost. In this case the foil was allover the board and it's the top side. I would assume it could be also there to seal the board from fluids. But mainly to isolate from the metal cover.t
    It wasn't a small sticker it was cover allover the board, something to remember. The customer is a fool, simple like that. With bad luck there could had been a big spark and something important got burned.

    Most likely, they forgot to glue the insulator, which was supposed to be between the keyboard and the mainboard.
    Not everyone will be able to carefully and scrupulously disassemble and assemble the device, but you can learn how to do this if you want! Therefore, you should always record the process on your phone, just in case!
    Take care of yourself and your loved ones! (=

    One of the main reasons we tend to avoid partial repairs at my work to prevent the machinery from comming back after repair for warrenty, since a lot can go wrong on the customers end.

  • @NBMSCH
    @NBMSCH 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Plastic foil is generally used to insulate components, prevent short circuits, and as an extra bonus, may also protect the motherboard if you spill a drink on the keyboard. So, if the Plastic foil is off the laptop will be shorted and won't turn on!

    Is it really necessary to bypass precharge current? Perhaps if one waits for a bit more time, it will start charging the battery eventually.

    It was a mistake to take just the motherboard. When doing laptop repairs ALWAYS ask customer to send laptop complete WITH power supply. This has been brought up several times in the past. Maybe now after being bitten a few times it's time to actually do it ^_^

    Great job! Thank you. Quick question: when you tested for short your PS clicked - I thought your PS was modified to remove short protection... will it still 'click' when a short is detected?

    • @knightwar3
      @knightwar3 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All power supplies whether they are linear or switch mode that have no short circuit protection including the linear one sorin uses will deliver current into a short circuit and almost all power supplies used for troubleshooting don't come with short circuit protection but with constant current function to limit the current, in this case the power supply is a linear one so the click you hear is from the relay which makes a click at some voltage changes and not because there's a short circuit so you can still deliver current into a short circuit without hearing the click if the voltage is low just pay attention to the c.c led when it lights up also you can hear the click just by changing the voltage on the knob

    In the previous video, the protective foil was on. This board has no foil, and the socket job looks a little different. Was Sorins' original repair copied on another D14 laptop, but they forgot to put back the foil ???

      Huawei D14 comes in several varieties, AMD or Intel. Same with other makers. the 14 refers to screen size. My D14 has Ryzen 7, looks similar, but not identical motherboard, to this one. Previous one Sorin fixed usb port was Intel.

    I own a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro laptop. Unfortunately, the battery has become damaged, so I've removed it from the device. I'm considering using the laptop by keeping it plugged in all the time. I'm concerned about potential damage to the laptop components over time since I don't plan to replace the battery and use it without a battery. I mainly use the laptop for 3D work, so it's on all the time. So , do I have to face any issues if I use like this for years? I appreciate your response. Thank you.

    Sorin, this doesn't make sense because your previous vid shows the laptop was complete and had foil on the back of the board. You repaired the charge port and everything was working. So why is the foil missing on the back of the board now? Or was that a different laptop but same brand from many months/years ago with a similar broken charge port where only the motherboard was sent?
