Yes.I purchased all the parts and built it roughly back in I think 1997.Been sitting covered up until this year.I just tore it down and changed gaskets and greased it up.It fired up thank god.It was amazing to see it run the first time after this long 😂.

Was the 406 built as a roller engine 25 years ago?

Steve Lindsay If I remember correctly put it together in 97 swap to a roller I believe in 99 and then put the motor back on the shelf again. So it’s been wrapped up in plastic for 21 years. These heads on this motor are way out of their league but it’s what I had to work with at the time. I believe Vortx were coming out around that time but they would not hold the spring pressure for what I was asking.

@@joshuagarvey9362 I've built one 406 for my 1935 Chevy pick up, with another prepped block ready to build, line bored and punched out .030 over. The 400 sbc is a contender and easy to get loads of power out of. The 406 going in the 35 is about 450 to 500 hp and likely more ft-lbs of trq. It has a 200 shot for more power when needed, Street/Strip

Geez that sounds Awsome.200 shot on A 406.I want to feel that!.I have been in A few street monsters back in the day, most of them being big blocks and the torgue on those motors was Awsome. Not sure the horse power they were pushing but the ride was amazing.I felt A mild 400sbc one time and I looked over at the guy when he got on it.I said to him when the ride was over. You know what, this little Sbc felt just like the big block did but in A small package.I made my choice that day and started to build my own.I think I went to far for the street but can’t turn back now.Not sure my compression but it must be with in 11.1ish.My cam is probably to big for these heads. Its all he say she say.Going to have to wait and see.I put this Muncie 4 speed in(pain in the ass) for fun.I love shifting gears.I don’t think it will hold but for fun.Tko are so expensive, newer heads are so expensive. At this point Time is running out and I just want to drive it once.

@@joshuagarvey9362 It's been a labor of love busted knuckles, and a lot of thought to make it the best of both worlds with a few quick changes for weekend drag stip competition. I kept the original front straight axel for a certain category of drag racing, and because of the vintage, it can run in a number of categories, as well as my daily driver. I don't need to drive much because I work at home where all my shops are. It won't be a jewel with glint and glimmer it will border on Rat truck but work very very well. Practical for what it's intended to do and be. Plus a second childhood for this old cowboy.
