Would like a T-10 as well. Don't have to give up the flathead, though, just add the T-10. It has room to carry 3 arlund the outside, and yku can just keep the 4th in the "user" position.

I LOVE my knafs driver! I, like you guys, went through multiple drivers and stripped a crazy amount of bits, and the knafs just feels like everything is perfect. Well I did replace the flat head with a t10 because my main carry is a benchmade. Great job Ben!

The nicest guy in Hollywood is Keanu Reeves. Whenever he makes a movie, it's a Blockbuster. The nicest guy in the Knife World is Ben of Knafs, whatever he touches turn to gold. We can feel the passion when Ben talks about a product. Great to see "fair dinkum" guys chatting & ranting (pros & cons) about their profession. Reckon Ben should create/invent a bit driver that could be use on multitools. Thought we throw that out there. Cowabunga.!!

This looks great! I agree with Zac about the T10. It may not be as common as the flathead, but I need it for my Spyderco knives and I can use the flathead on my Victorinox. Also, the flathead is the easiest tool to improvise: a prybar, a dime, a key, even a fingernail can work in a pinch (at least to get by until you can find an actual flathead).

Great discussion and review! I’m in the process of ordering a Knafs S5 and what I’d like to see is maybe 4 bits on the outside and 1/2” shorter overall. Of course, that may all change once I have one in hand. Great videos, thanks for putting this into production and following your dreams!

Very cool! I've been looking at various tools like this recently and I wasn't very happy with any of them. I have a Kobalt micro driver tool that uses the 4mm bits, but they are trash - they twist so easily.
Bit storage is another gripe of mine with so many of these tools.
Just ordered 2 Knafs drivers and a set of extra bits - one for Spydie maintenance, the other for work. Work, I need the P1/2, and small slotted screws fairly regularly, and this is the perfect balance for all of it.

I bought the knafs. Only negative is the bit holder is short so it can't fit double ended bits or store them on the sides because the cavities are too short.
So the excellent Hoto Precision bits aren't compatible. But, the wiha bits work in the Hoto. The Hoto also stores 24 bits and isn't too much bigger than the Knafs.

  • @walterstreet1467

I use a bit driver all the time in my day job, and I've experimented with just about every brand out there and used them extensively. I landed on the Husky bit driver that was shown at the start of the video as the best for my needs and I've used one for years and years. On the Kanfs bit driver, I like the design choices Ben made. The choices he made make a lot of sense. The only thing I think I would have done differently is find a way to store the bit's internally, or more securely on the outside. Personally, I place a higher priority on being able to switch bits quickly and the seat belts seem fiddly and slow to use. I also think if you used the tool without the seat belts you would lose bits as you carried the tool around. I do think I'll buy one and try it out because other than the bit storage I love the design of the driver.

  • @johnnewell5025

I probably qualify as a bit-driver addict so I've got a lot of years and a lot of drivers, good and bad, to compare. I was interested enough to buy one of these (thanks for the quick shipping!) and was so impressed that I ordered a second copy the next day. 👍 The only small thing I'd change would be to offer a choice between T10, slotted and P1 when ordering, but that's a small point. Very well done, and thanks!

Just bought the Knafs driver a month or so ago after talking with Ben at Blade Show Texas. Honestly, I took the o-ring "seatbelts" off almost right away and fidget with this thing like crazy and have never had them fly off like they do in this video. I think it's fine without them. The driver truly is great though, just wish it had more bits. Thinking of getting a full bit kit of those smaller size Wiha bits just to keep handy.

Came with a set of wiha bits, ball bearing, 3 bits stored in the body, so yes, gotta dump it out, but its the 3 bits I need when servicing a knife, full size bits which I prefer, BUT, it’s a bit pricey. It's more than the knafs driver, but it uses 1/4 bits, ratchets, has an extension, can be used as a T-handle, and comes with all the bits you need, and a 1/4 socket adaptor. Only drawbacks are the weight and cost, but it's a great one and done solution.

I use the Wiha stubby and the CRKT-Wu driver. Every now and then (esp. with goops of LocTite) I can't get the torque necessary with the CRKT/pen style driver, but the girth of the stubby gave enough. I think it may be really nice to have a 4mm hex hole on the SIDE of the KNAFS driver, so I can stick one of the extra hex bits in there for occasional extra leverage and extra torque - kinda like using an allen-key.

Gonna have to grab one of these to upgrade the burrito at some point; while I have a larger IFIXIT bit driver set (I work mainly with computers and small electronics) that's ideal for general light duty and really weird fasteners, the one that came with the burrito is a bit insufficient for the intended application. Genuinely excellent function-informed design, and an inspiration to tinker and invent too.
Really love these deeply introspective types of videos on EDC gear and the tools we use to maintain them. You're one of a few channels that really delve into the "why" of a tool's form or inclusion in a kit regularly, keep it up!

personally, i really love my hoto tool i got off amazon for everyday precision work because of the form factor and how many bits it has for electronics and knives, i love wera bits the most theyre basically bulletproof, and the icon flex head ratchet bit set is by far one of the best knife tools you can get, the only good tool from harbor freight lol. the thing i love about it is that since it comes with an extension handle, you can really fine tune knives especially balisongs to exactly what you need vs sitting there and tweaking on a screw too tight then too loose

Glad to see another episod with you two guys. Couple of thoughts, although I haven't handled Ben's screwdriver yet, if it's hollow it could have fit 1,2,3 extra bits inside(guess you'd have to lose the spinning cap), it also looks like it could fit the 4'th bit on the outside among the other 3.

Neat design! My two main thoughts are: What about an accompanying pen-shaped bit holder? And would it be possible to squeeze a 1/4" driver into a pen shape? Pen loops are common, so I love the idea of being able to drop a small screwdriver kit into 1 or 2 loops. No need for a separate case to protect other stuff in the bag.

This very interesting. Not that the Kershaw tool bothered me to dump the bits out, but it is noisy if you get to moving around as it jingles and adds a bearing feature with onboard storage. 👍

I agree with Ben on everything he says for some reason. I am impressed by the design and the philosophy and the fact that he can compliment a competitor and still make something he believes is better.

I have a small ifixit kit that has been ‘ol reliable, but I was sold the second I saw that thing spin. I’m ordering one later today.

I've been carrying the crkt in my back pocket organizer. Its great but the bearing tears a hole in my pocket. I also like the idea of carrying extra bits. I'm in construction and need one all the time for exploratory issues before I get my "real" tools out. Hopefully I can make the 4 mil bits work for what I need because I just bought one. Thanks fellers.
