I will live by this statement because everyone says it but Times Square was magical to me. People get so worked up when they see the slightest amount of advertisement. It is indeed full of in your face ads, but it's only in your face if you pay attention to that fact. Take a moment to look at all the neon lights and cyberpunk-esque stuff and you'll have a whole different view of Times Square.
I dont care how many tourists there are in Venice, its a beauty of a city and you should visit it at least once in a lifetime. Its not a tourist trap, enjoy your vacation

I’ve been to both the Christ the Redeemer statue as well as Sugarloaf Mountain, and I had exactly the opposite experience. I think it depends on your ability to beat the crowd. We went to Christ the Redeemer first thing in the morning. We were one of the first groups allowed in the park for the day. Don’t go for the statue, go for the INCREDIBLE view you get from the platform. One of the most astonishingly beautiful sights you will ever see. Sugarloaf mountain was extremely crowded when we went in the afternoon. Beautiful up there as well, but I would recommend getting to either site first thing in the morning.
Good list but New York and Rio de Janeiro should not be on a “worst destinations still popular list”. Rio de Janeiro is a one of the most fun cities in the world and New York with all its neighborhoods and food is a awesome.
Well they didn't bash the entire city of New York, just Times Square. Same thing with Rio... they mentioned one spot. But good on you for making things more dramatic than they need to. Lol.
Except no one is trashing NYC as a whole, and for the record, pretty much every local would agree with this take on Times Square, because if you want to see the real New York, you need to stray away from the tourist traps and go to some lesser known locales
I disagree with Las Vegas. The city does not claim or try to portray itself as natural beauty, it highlights that it is man-made and artificial. I'm guessing some gamble-aholic lost all their money there, and b/c of that it made the list. Las Vegas is far more than just gambling. I've been there four times and have never gambled once. There are so many sites, tours, shows, exotic/artistic hotels, spectacular pools, and great food. You can enjoy the city for so many reasons. If you drive an hour away, you can also do also sorts of ATV off-grid events.
As with all overly touristy sites, you just have to know how to visit strategically to beat the crowds. This requires a little preparation, something few travelers want to do. The planning and anticipation of a trip is half the fun.
Thanks for sharing but I’d still love to see every place on this list that I’ve never been to, and I’ll gladly revisit the ones I have. I just love to travel and explore new places, learn new history, and (especially) east different foods!
The people who wrote the script/came up with the concept for this video needs a hug. Dunno why you would make a video just to bash random places to visit.
As a local, I can't say they're wrong about Times Square...the only reason to want to go there should be to check out a Broadway show, because that's a once in a lifetime experience...everything else around there is tourist trap central. If you want to see the real NYC, go to some of the more local/not as well known destinations
I'm afraid I'm gonna have to disagree with Las Vegas because every time I visit I have a good time. Heck, I was originally gonna go for my birthday, before the pandemic hit, to see Penn & Teller for the first time!
The pyramids were terrible, not the site itself that was okay, but the country and the locals are vile, all the women had to be escorted everywhere and not just the adults but the children too, vendors would physically harass people and trying to get them to buy stuff and the prices were inflated to absurd levels. The food was horrid, service was crap, beggars and thieves abounded, it was the epitome of a shithole. I'm frankly amazed it wasn't on the list.
@@Diatom1k Disneyland attracts millions of visitors, and many people return to it. It's a matter of taste. Personally, I think I would like to visit Disneyland in Japan, but not the American ones.
@@Diatom1k If you follow the hordes of tourists, sure. But let's say you wake up at 6:30am and take the vaporetto through the grand canal, you will experience a Venice like it was 200 years ago and have an experience to remember for life.
People always crap on what a dull experience it is to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, but no one ever talks about what a surreal trip it is to actually walk up to the top of the tower. It seems like everyone who goes there looks at it, but doesn't actually go in it. That's where the fun is.
Thing about Vegas is, if you know what you're doing, you can have a lot of fun for a lot less than you think, and if you're lucky, you might even go home with more than you left with. For non-gamblers, there's the Pinball Hall of Fame. No computer simulation can ever replicate the actual experience of playing a live, physical machine. If you spent any time playing pinball growing up, and you're anywhere near Vegas, make time for this one. If you're a gambler, you can find dice tables on the ultra cheap. You could probably still find $5 dice games in Vegas, but good luck with that in Atlantic City, where $10 and even $15 minimums were the norm last I visited. Craps has some of the best bets in gaming, to the point where you can get pretty darn close to a mathematically fair fight...again, if you know what you're doing. And poker tournaments in Vegas can be a terrific value of play time for buy-in, if you know how to analyze a structure sheet. Basically, if you're going to Vegas without any kind of plan, then yes, it's probably going to suck. Do your homework before you go, however, and you'll have a grand time.
The touristy Venice isn't an image of all Venice. There are 2 Venices, the one on the islands in the lagoon, that is the most famous one, and the terrain Venice, on land, where the magiority of the people live. If you want to experience a real city experience then go to Mestre, but if you go to there historic city in the lagoon, it's no surprise to see a different kind of city, because it's quite inconvenient to have all business and industry on canals. I have written this many times on this channel. Venice is a unique city and a very beautiful city, and you can't criticise it for the way it is. It's like criticising dubai for being in a desert. come on.
TRUUuue other people doesnt realize that but you know the brochures, the posters just tells us about the islands in the lagoon and yah thats the problem when I was in Venice I was really surprised cuz it wasn't crowded turns out thats the real city of Venice, much less crowded more peaceful and yes AuTHENTIC!!
I'd suggest to avoid Mestre though. It's probably the worst city (between the "big" ones) to visit in the whole region, go to Padua or Treviso instead (or even Vicenza) Verona is also really beautiful, but it tends to be overcrowded
@@asianicotra9648 Yes even tho its the real city of Venice people might got disappointed I also advise people to visit Trieste it's just a hour of ride from Venice /Maestre or by a train which is much faster
How dare you put Las Vegas on this list!! It’s a truly magical and energetic city and even during the height of the pandemic it was hoppin’! Whoever made this list must be really fun at parties. 🙄
Pisa is really cool. The drive through Tuscany is wonderful. The tower itself is m'eh, but there are the Cathedral and Baptistry, which are both 10x more impressive than the tower and worth the trip
The tourists holding it up are corny but indeed that whole campus and marble buildings are magnificent. it’s worth a trip. See it for 1-2 hrs then head to nearby beautiful Cinque Terre
The pleasure we derive from journeys is perhaps dependent more on the mindset with which we travel than on the destination we travel to!!!!! This was absolutely stunning to watch. Greate work, great edit...
As someone that travels often and have been to half of these locations, I think you have it wrong with the Christ Redeemer. If you're in Brazil, it's a must visit. As someone that is the furthest from religious seeing that is still awe inspiring.
Overtourism is a big problem, and it makes a visit unpleasant when it's too much crowded. However Venice, London, Santorini, and Las Vegas are must sees.
You might consider them the worst travel destinations but I still would like to visit every single one of them. Number 1 I visited and the video's suggesting is completely misleading. The best thing about going up to the Christ the Redeemer is not the statue itself but the amazing view that is one of the most beautiful in the world. To avoid crowds you just have to wake up early to arrive there early. If you wake up at 10 and arrive there at noon it will be obviously crowded, but nothing that can spoil your moment. You'll surely get your chance to admire the view.
Being in Times Square was certainly worth my visit to NYC when I was there 6 years ago. I'm kind of suprised the Great Wall of China wasn't mentioned. Sure its length is impressive, but unless you're trying to burn alot of calories why do all that walking across the top of the wall which would take I don't know how long to complete? If I ever get a chance to visit China I just wanna see the city of Shanghai.
You go to Vegas and Pisa knowing they are super cheesy and touristy. I understand why you put them on your list, but I don’t agree. The fast that the most beautiful city in the world (Venice) has been turned into a cheesy tourist trap, now that’s a crime.
Certainly agree with Pisa and Vegas, but Santorini and Venice are unique wonderful destinations even if crowded. (Been to all 4 of those places.) Re Christ The Redeemer in Rio, I've been twice and it's worth it for the view alone
With Venice you lost any credibility.....It is unique and beautifull, it can be packed.....but that's because is beautifull. And thanks to COVID in 2020 I managed to witness it almost empty and it was magic
I think I've been to every single one of these, lol except the top 3. Pisa I agree is definitely not worth a trip of its own, but as a stop on the way it's not bad. All the others are unique and why they are popular. A lot of people travel because they want to see and experience places that a unique, and the ones on this list are unique.
Venice and London are both favorite cities, take away the tourists, both have so much to offer. Do your research before you go and immerse yourself in history. I live in Toronto and it is so much more than the CN Tower. A tip if you make a lunch/dinner reservation you ride up for free in a private elevator. Put the admission price towards your food and you still get to enjoy the observation deck.
Vegas is worth visiting once, just to experience sin city, but far too many people forget that there are many great things to see and do outside of Vegas, within just a couple of hours. Take a break from the city, rent a car, take a drive, see some of those places.
Agreed. I live here and rarely set foot on the strip lol. It’s nice to do once in awhile but there’s so much off the strip to do, and, like you said, outside of Vegas as well.
Enjoyed my experience of Venice November 19 despite the aqua alta. Saw the outside islands and still felt it unique wandering and getting lost in the paths. Enough to see but understand the local difficulties
I agree with some of these destinations. I would add the Empire State Building to the list. Go to the ‘Top of the Rock’ instead. Then you get the Empire State Building IN your photos.
LOL idk about London, if your up early enough it’s amazing. and if your in Italy leaning tower is a train ride away LOL so idk if it’s over rated you can stop by on the way to 5 towns by the sea. Venice is like a painting it’s so beautiful. And you can find a couple good pizza spots! Grab some beer and pizza and watch the canals.
I've been to most of these places. Honestly it's what you make of it. Don't take an organised bus or ship tour. It doesn't give you enough time to immerse yourself in the various destinations, plus you are herded like cattle everywhere with not enough time to see the actual destination. Venice, Pisa (leaning tower is part of a park complex and not the actual town!), New York City and London require you to walk around and see the city for yourself. Also, ask locals where are the best places. This has always worked for me. It's makes for a more authentic experience. These type of videos are very subjective.
Been to 5 of the listed in the past year (Toronto but not up to the CN Tower). I don't think these bad destinations that are still popular as they are not as good because they are popular. Thus taking some enjoyment out of it due to crowds. Don't go in summer or you'll be hot and frustrated with crowds and lines in the heat.
I disagree about Liberty Island because you can go IN the statue. And you get to go to Ellis Island too. (The latter does have a bridge but that is closed to the public). And tourist London DOES have lots of free museums which also don't (in non-COVID times) have queues.
You are sooooooooo wrong about Venice! I would NEVER discourage anyone from experiencing Venice! Go to Italy towards the end of September or afterwards. And, don’t do a cruise - travel by air and train. Getting lost in Venice is the most magical experience... especially if you stop at a little restaurant and have great wine and seafood as our group did! Also, I can’t agree on Las Vegas either! Have you ever heard of Girlfriend Getaway? 🤷🏽♀️ Lastly, I do agree on Times Square ... keep in moving in that area!
Have to disagree on London, Venice and santorini! The are only "bad" because they are popular, so if people listened to you and stayed away you would probably put them on a list of "amazing travel destinations that are surprisingly unpopular "
I leave for Myrtle beach in 5 days with my daughters for our first vacation and trip to the ocean. I’m glad it didn’t make the list and there’s no where on this list that I want to see or experience. I’ve been to Vegas many times and it’s true, 2-3 days is more than enough time to spend there
I could easily name a handful of other places that are arguably worse during peak tourism season, but you know what? Just skip the summer travel season. Don't be part of the problem.
Alas that is when the school holidays are. Many are constrained by that. I try to avoid that, unless I am combining it with a trip to mum and dad for my birthday.
I'm with you on most of these, however my big one is the forbidden city, honestly it was a huge let down do to the unrelenting tourist traps inside. And honestly the Taiwan ,National Palace Museum has all of the more interesting pieces of art and treasure .
I can only speak for Greece and Italy since I have visited many times: there are better, more authentic, prettier, cheaper and more exciting places to visit in those countries, many more: eg, the Dodecanese islands and Puglia ;D
As a brazilian, i need to say that you also have to take in consideration that Rio is a very dangerous city. One of the most dangerous in Brazil if not THE MOST in terms of crime.
@@fnmag3693 How, pray tell, are people expected to spend hundreds on the required PCR tests and usually quarantine even if they’re fully vaccinated just to travel to Europe? I live here, and no one should come until 2022. There’s no point now.

I have a solution just go to any of the cities we have in Australia that are a lot better.
I think these sites remain popular because people choose to see with their eyes rather than hearing from others and judging them.
Which is often a mistake, like when someone tells you "be careful, the plate is hot" then you proceed to burn your hand anyway.

Vegas has great food, entertainment, and is a good launching point to see national parks.
I would love to see these places. The narrator is kinda condescending.
I totally disagree with christ the redeemer! Standing up there and looking up 30 metres to a giant Jesus is pretty amazing
Christ the Redeemer: Ohhhh this one.. dont get me wrong it is still a very good spot in Brazil and I highly respect it and it is an icon of the colorful and festive city of Rio De Janeiro but yah sometimes reality isn't that we expected.. The lines and the price are really really bad and it is very crowded.. You will spend hours just to get your place on the Top and don't let me start about the top.. It is too Crowded and really disappointing BUT it offers a good view tho but sometimes the view comes with a big price of money and your patience and add the hot and super sunny weather of Brazil thoo PAIN
Talk about putting a bummer on people’s travel plans!! If you want to go there just enjoy the experience!
And honestly, all those that I've been, were worth it
I’ve been to both the Christ the Redeemer statue as well as Sugarloaf Mountain, and I had exactly the opposite experience. Beautiful up there as well, but I would recommend getting to either site first thing in the morning.
i did the same and agree with you.
The pyramids of Egypt should be here at least. It was so disappointing. Especially with the amount of trash everywhere
A constant theme in this video is like "tourist-oriented business is bad, generally business is bad, modern cities are bad, over-tourism is bad".
Imagine calling a city like Venice a bad travel destination 🤡
It's a commie video. "Tourist-oriented business is bad, generally business is bad, modern cities are bad, over-tourism is bad."
I was just there and it was extremely disappointing. So many better italian cities to visit that dont feel like disneyland
Venice, overcrowded, dirty, and expensive.
People always crap on what a dull experience it is to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, but no one ever talks about what a surreal trip it is to actually walk up to the top of the tower. It seems like everyone who goes there looks at it, but doesn't actually go in it. That's where the fun is.
Exactly, and you can do it in half a day, while visiting other cities
Walking down is tricky b/c the gravity pulls you down and I remember almost running, kinda scary,, dang tilt
Agreed with Venice. Had the worst experience through 20 years of travel. Not because of crowds, pure rude locals
It's probably the worst city (between the "big" ones) to visit in the whole region, go to Padua or Treviso instead (or even Vicenza)
Verona is also really beautiful, but it tends to be overcrowded
@@asianicotra9648 Yes even tho its the real city of Venice people might got disappointed I also advise people to visit Trieste it's just a hour of ride from Venice /Maestre or by a train which is much faster
How dare you put Las Vegas on this list!! It’s a truly magical and energetic city and even during the height of the pandemic it was hoppin’! Whoever made this list must be really fun at parties. 🙄
I've traveled to 4 of the places on this list and lived in and currently live near one. I whole heartedly disagree with half of this list.
Don’t get the hate for the leaning tower of Pisa, it’s an interesting landmark within beautiful grounds in a lovely town
It’s great.
Might be bias because I'm British but I completely agree with London! I'd much rather visit a tropical island!
Overtourism is a big problem, and it makes a visit unpleasant when it's too much crowded.
However Venice, London, Santorini, and Las Vegas are must sees.
There’s nothing to see in Las Vegas unless you’re into gambling
^ definitely never been there
Las Vegas is a black hole of hookers gambling and drugs. And the residential area is boring
Las Vegas is heavily overrated, I’ve gone more than once and it was boring since day one
Unless you like to gamble, Las Vegas has nothing to offer. Went when I was 10, and again in 2018. Boring and the heat makes it worse.
As busy as Santorini was, I absolutely loved it! It's busy for a reason, such a unique place
Wandering around Blarney Castle is more interesting than the stone (and the long line for it) anyway.
Yes! Stunning grounds, some of the biggest trees in Ireland, and a super neat garden of poisonous plants.
I have been and did do both. And saw a building saying it was open "next year". I assume that will apply every year.
TIME SQUARE IS FIREEEEEEEE. SO IS THE CN TOWER. THEY'RE BOTH CHEAP EASY TO ACCESS AND AMAZING VIEWS. IDK WHATT SHE WAS ON MAKING THAT VIDEO
How are the pyramids in Egypt not on here?
Same with the Hollywood Walk of Fame
So overrated
Very helpful, thank you so much! :)
I especially agree with Venice, if you have to then pass through but don’t travel to Italy for Venice
venice is amazing if you prepare your trip well! And we loved vegas with our kids (for one day)
Enjoyed my experience of Venice November 19 despite the aqua alta. Saw the outside islands and still felt it unique wandering and getting lost in the paths. Enough to see but understand the local difficulties
Really surprised to see Venice and Santorini on here, but I can agree with Pisa and Vegas being listed, especially the latter.
I agree with some of these destinations. I would add the Empire State Building to the list. Go to the ‘Top of the Rock’ instead. Then you get the Empire State Building IN your photos.
Why Does @Mojotravels Hates The Leaning Tower Of Pisa so much They're All Ways Mentioning It.
If People Want To Pose With It Let Them.
Agree with Pisa, disagree with Venice. Have been to both btw.
VERY much looking forward to being able to safely travel again!! 🇨🇦
I’ve been in Pisa, London, Venice, Santorini and Rio and in mu opinion only Greek Island was totally overrated, all the rest is worth to visit
I leave for Myrtle beach in 5 days with my daughters for our first vacation and trip to the ocean. I’m glad it didn’t make the list and there’s no where on this list that I want to see or experience. I’ve been to Vegas many times and it’s true, 2-3 days is more than enough time to spend there
Hey, I live in London and I love it 😂 I think it’s still worth visiting but don’t not coming here to visit the most well-known landmarks 😅
Yes, go to the museums instead. Free!
I love you USA beautiful country and natural beautiful clean rich country USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I throughly enjoyed vegas for my first visit. But what I wasn't prepared for was the entire city smelling like weed. It was disgusting
You must be really fun at parties. 🙄
And these destinations will remain popular, whether some like it or not.
I would add the Eiffel Tower to the list
yes another tourist Trap but the views thoo ILOVET
Not so bad if you go early. Or if you choose the stairs. Though there is still the security queue.
Best deal. Who are you kidding, for under 20 a person?
Agree with everything except London, Venice, at least in low season and Santorini in low season too.
Low, or shoulder, season are often much better times to go. If you can. High season is often that because it coincides with school holidays.
Henny, Vegas hasn’t had a cheap hotel room in decades. So it’s a double no
Agree about Times Square but you couldn't be more wrong about the Statue of Liberty.
Santorini is where they do Vixen and Tushy, right?
I'm with you on most of these, however my big one is the forbidden city, honestly it was a huge let down do to the unrelenting tourist traps inside. And honestly the Taiwan ,National Palace Museum has all of the more interesting pieces of art and treasure .
Venice overrated af .. crowded and the canals not even clean .. i was very disappointed and underwhelmed.. I thought it would more romantic
4:08 AWKWARD...
I can only speak for Greece and Italy since I have visited many times: there are better, more authentic, prettier, cheaper and more exciting places to visit in those countries, many more: eg, the Dodecanese islands and Puglia ;D
Cmon take Santorini off the list lol. It IS a popular destination but still quality.
Could make a whole video on tourist traps in FL.
I propose to my wife in Venice I thought the place was pretty awful and expensive
As a brazilian, i need to say that you also have to take in consideration that Rio is a very dangerous city. One of the most dangerous in Brazil if not THE MOST in terms of crime.
Save Venice. DO NOT travel there!!
I love you Greece beautiful and natural beautiful clean rich country Greece 🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
locals also piss on the blarney stone which I think is the funniest thing of all time
I can't wait to visit Europe next summer 2022
Why not summer 2021
@@fnmag3693 How, pray tell, are people expected to spend hundreds on the required PCR tests and usually quarantine even if they’re fully vaccinated just to travel to Europe? I live here, and no one should come until 2022. There’s no point now.
Lol
Go visit Christ The Redeemer!
It’s cheap and you get a great 360 view of Rio.
I love you New Zealand beautiful and natural beautiful clean rich country New Zealand 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Number 1 Paris
Very Nice video friend
Paris needed to be somewhere on this list....
If there’s a place where people are that is a hellacious vacation destination to me. Give me a forest or desert any day
I strongly disagree with this video and I believe that I would have an amazing time in every one of these places
Egypt should be in there as #1
Rio de Janeiro sucks and it's so dangerous that I, Brazilian, never dream to know this place
Malta is by far the worst place I have ever been. Never again
i agree with timesquare lol.
But I would still go to them. Lol
Taj Mahal, Little Mermaid,
