If it wern't for Rinos there might not be the Razor. The guy I bought my 2018 RZR from had over $14,000.00 in upgrades. (No lights in the fender wells, speakers and crap like that) The Fox Podium Gold series shocks were $7,000.00 alone. Cage, seats, radius rods, wheels, blowers, Particle Separator....on and on. He didn't touch the motor... (thankfully)...said "it's got plenty of power". Then his kids started having babies and they all quit going....he said it's been sit'n for a year ...he didn't have it for sale...but he sold it to me just for talk'n to him... This thing is a BEAST. I made a video on radius rods if ya wanna see it....I suck at making videos but the info is good to know. th-cam.com/video/EYldl39lAUc/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=BryanRay
I just fixed one last week.I fabbed it up with some angle iron and welded it across the original broken mounts. All four original mounting points were broken.
Thats good info. Thank you looking at buying a 2006 660. Bone stock. No known milage or hours. So I’m kinda of nervous. But now i can tell by looking at things if i want to spend the amount they are asking or start pointing out what i may need to replace .also this will be my first side by side. If the deal goes through. Its cheaper than the four wheelers i have looked at. And also seems to be in better shape by the pics. He said it smokes a bit at first start ups. But gets better after running. That has me a lil worried but not too bad.
Im rebuilding one I got for cheap but I'll make the point that most things can be found aftermarket but Its the stuff that you have to buy from yamaha that costs the most. CV axles and bearings u joints add up but a bad driveshaft can only be bought from yamy and they cost an arm and a leg. The worse ive found on mine are the driveshaft couplings dont have zerks and the diffs need to come out to grease them so I cant imagine most people doing that. they have terrible seals and are most likely gone . The rear shaft and couplings was about $450 alone.
Howdy and thanks for sharing this video. I'm looking to buy a used Rhino 700 and thanks to you I now know of things to look for before I buy. I'm new to Rhino and really like them. Thumbs UP and ya have a new subscriber here...
Ewwwwwwwwwwweee--- I really thought you'd miss that diff mount point but you got it bro--- good for you. Verrrry thorough and informative. Shit- great job man. Yeehaw from pontiac michigan!!
The Yamaha Rhino was a popular off-road vehicle produced by Yamaha Motor Company from 2004 to 2012. It was designed for a driver and passenger with two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive. It was popular with off-road enthusiasts, farmers and other landowners who used it for recreation and light utility.
Don't know if you said or not that is even for sale, but that thing is about as close to junk as it gets. If an owner can't even keep up on simple, cheap maintenance, he sure as hell isn't making sure the internals are maintained. That "custom" wiring job is a fire waiting to happen. You dont just slap in a higher amp fuse, and call it a day. Takes all of 30 minutes to throw in a switch, and wire it to an open space in the fuse box. For a kid just learning, or something you just want to beat the shit out of, I might pay $800 for it. Just dont ride too far from your vehicle.
The engine alone is worth probably 2500$ only for the 700 . I juts bought a mint condition 700cc rhino with a ton of upgrades. Power steering 14”HD wheels and 26” ITP tires. Front full enclosed windshield with spare wheel and tire. And has about 2 of everything parts wise extra. It has new axles new wheel bearings it runs and drives great. I bought it today for 5800. It says the value online is up to 7500. It’s a 2009 Yamaha rhino 700 sport edition red model. They hold value well. If the one in this video was cleaned up washed de grease had the minor issues fixed and platics restored it could easily go for 3500-4k. There are some for sale now for 6500 here in Texas in horrible condition with no title that look way worse than the one in this video.
As long as has been maintained well, I’ve seen the engines go up to 10,000+ miles with a couple thousand hours. Ideally if you can find one under three or 4000 miles that’s considered low miles for the Rhino.
My Rhino makes a terrible noise when I let off the gas and brake. It sounds like gear problems but one knowledgeable person said that it may be the brake pads? You mentioned in the video something about one way bearing causing noise. I'm a novice and sure could use some pointers. Thanks.
Yes the one way bearing will cause that noise. You’ll need a one way bearing and a clutch cover gasket. You pull the plastic belt housing off, pull the belt, pull the primary and secondary pullies and clutch housing. Inspect the primary, secondary, clutch drum and clutch shoes while you have everything off. Best to buy a service manual if you are not familiar.
Low coolant, low brake fluid, dirty oil. Looks like questionable maintenance. Some of these sellers kill me. An hour or two refreshing fluids could mean another few hundred dollars.
just bought one that was abandoned for a hundred bucks, helpful video

Good review. I picked up a rhino recently. After purchase, I noticed differential mount had been repaired. Quite common on these I've learned.

Hola muchachos tengo un problema con rino450 Yamaha necesito en contrar el número del chasis
What are the visible differences between the 660 and 700?
late reply but the 660 has an intake in the doghouse between the seats unless its been modified
also a choke lever beside steering wheel, 700 will have the hole plugged with a yamaha logo.
What are good mileage and hours to look for? I assume after so many hours mileage there maybe an engine on its last leg?
