    Still have my 07 450. Still runs great. Still has original belt. Use it daily on farm/ranch. I think one of the best features is that it fits in the bed of my truck. When I go camping/hunting/fishing/mining I can load it up AND hook up my travel trailer.

    Thank you so much for this series on older Rhinos. Having just bought some property in the North Bay, Ontario area I knew I needed an ATV, but my kids said a sxs would be better for an ‘old’ man like myself so I picked up an 05 Rhino 660 that has some work already done to it. Your videos have shown me what a good choice I made and look forward to many years of use and fun with it. Thank you again and I am now a subscriber.

    Great video, I had a 2008 yamaha rhino and put 10,000 klm on it. never let me down. When I sold it I changed the belt so new owner didn't have to worry. The belt with 10000klm on it looked like it was brand new. Then I went to a Polaris razor 800 second time out I wore out a belt and got stuck 30 klm in the woods. Sold it right away. Then got a 2020 can am maverick 1000r sport. good machine but brakes sqeeked from brand new, it stopped on a hill, and going from park to high or low it was a Very large clunk transmistion sounded horable. Now Im back in a 2004 yamaha rhino 660, Im the second owner he only put 700 klm on it in 20 years. It looks brand new. Just put power steering in it and could not be happier. Great machine for around my property!! new subscriber here keep up the great videos.

    Great vid!! I have a 2009 700, that thing has been a beast!! I call her my deer machine, reason, I’ve used her to haul, pull or winch huge Iowa deer from deep n the woods !! The engine heat works wonders w the cab I made for it n winter. I will never get rid of my rhino, in fact plan to make major upgrades to it, power steering, shocks etc. I’ve been in some very sticky situations and the Rhino never failed me!! Thank you again!

    Thank you for sharing, we have 2 rhinos 06 660 and 08 700. I ride the 660, it has 1000 hours on it. we do trial riding. so we do not travel fast, do not require the big horses guys use on dunes. I have had to do the wet clutch and primary. I just finished going 3rd over size on the piston and sleeve new valves as well. It cost me $3400 but that is much less than a wolverine. Besides , wolverines break in the bush the plastic is not made for trail riding the way we ride. I have taken both machines into the Rocky Mountains with no problem with power.

    My old Rhino was bored and stroked to a 780. Ported heads, cams, exhaust, Harley 45 carb, that thing would rip for the times. It was such a fun buggy being so nimble and powerful.

    8600 miles on the clock! Yes it's rebuilt but that impressive! I believe any and all of the old can compete with the new. With the new you get more bells and whistles and stuff most can't work on.. with the old you get simplicity and based on manufacturer.. reliability! Great video showing these old units can still rock with the new trailer queens that cost as much as new trucks!

    Great video! I have an ‘09 that that I bought in Feb 2020 with lots of mods including a pro armour roll cage with a back seat in the bed. It looks like the original owner installed progressive rear shocks which cannot support the extra weight of the cage and seats. Do you recommend a firmer shock and spring setup? Maybe OEM? Thanks again for all your useful content.

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would keep the progressive shocks for the better ride they give and just swap out the springs for some heavier ones to take the added weight. Accounting for passengers as well would go at least 150 lbs heavier with the springs

    • @AppalachianMountainRiders
      @AppalachianMountainRiders  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Rhino is a great platform and in my opinion is hard to beat for an entry level SxS. They are tough as nails and easy to maintain plus parts are inexpensive should something break(if it ever does) Sure, they don’t have all the bells and whistles like the modern machines but you can pick up one fairly cheap comparatively. My first SxS was a rhino and it’s what got me hooked!

  • @buildurtruckurway9118
    @buildurtruckurway9118 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    its about the same size as a modern 2 up quad so its definitly small compaired to modern machines. id say the only sxs compairable is the honda pioneer but it lacks power. if you could put a 3 inch lift under it and turn 27-28 inch tires it would be more comprable to a newer sxs. im not a sxs guy but im thinking about bying a hisun 700 and swaping over the rhino gears and doing a custom build.

    I get how this guy loves the Rhino. But the complaining of how old(most used word in this video) the features or on these Rhinos. No, it doesn't have heated seats, moonroof, dual air and heat feature, or GPS, or carries 8 people (that's what trucks are for), or 360 view, or airbags, or huge horsepower ( do you really need that on a trail ?), or air rid, or power steering.
    C'mon, get real.
    We have 2 Rhinos and use at least one of them every day on the ranch. I gave you a like because of the Rhino, not the crying.
