    @lovemtb what's your opinion between berd and onyx? berd is lighter than onyx. but the 15248 is impossible to get to upgrade to ceramic. thoughts?

    • @LoveMTB
      @LoveMTB  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      We're talking hubs right? BERD is a generic ratchet hub that will be easy to service and probably not give you any trouble. No bragging rights though like you would get with the Onyx but don't have a set so can't comment much about those.

    Black, maybe boring, I had white originally, looked grubby and couldn’t clean up.
    Now black.
    Total game changing wheels. I ride a HT, if you are a crazy HT rider, they are worth it !!!

    Awesome video yet again!!! I'd like to try out some berd spokes but do they need constant tuning after the first few hundred kilometers?I bet that there are very compliant...I would go all black for the color,the lighter colors would probably be hard to keep looking clean...

    • @LoveMTB
      @LoveMTB  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Glenn. Actually once they settle they're fine, maybe after one season put a bit more tension on them. They also offer rebuilds of your own wheels with their spokes 😉

    Hi. Off topic here.. Can I ask is there any difference other than the colour on the spider - red or black on the sunrace 12 speed 11 - 51 mz903? Thanks

    • @LoveMTB
      @LoveMTB  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just the color but some of the black ones are heavier too, different part number though

  • @HUKIT.
    @HUKIT. ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’ve seen a few riders with Berd spokes so my question about the white is how well do they clean up? White looks great until it doesn’t.

    • @LoveMTB
      @LoveMTB  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They don't really get dirty and cleanup quite nicely. So I can always color them later😉

    Light spokes and a 306gr. rear hub WITH center lock doesn't go together really well. I'd still go PiRope.

  • @5amba
    @5amba ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think the Straight Pull system of Pi Rope is much better suited for textile spokes.
    The downside is: you have to use their hubs.

    • @LoveMTB
      @LoveMTB  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did build with staightpull also, but you can use any hubs. Here's the DUKEs - th-cam.com/video/yRD_3mf3AW4/w-d-xo.html

    Rather have crossrides because straight pull never gives my a problem ....unlike hookspokes . Alot of hub companies are behind the ball if they don't make all straight pull. Hook stay loose..constantly truing n tightening them ..str8 pull never touch with a tool .. tight n perfect. But some people like to have to fix their wheels all the time. Me..i rather Ride.

    • @LoveMTB

      No need to tinker with the wheels k-hook or straightpull if you know what you’re doing. 😎

    Ok.. I understand. The benefit appears to be lighter spokes.
    The disadvantage is resale. That hub is rare. The spokes are rare. The overall weight is sub-1500g which is great, not incredible.
    I'm going to focus on Roval Control SL wheels. They hold their value pretty well.

    • @LoveMTB
      @LoveMTB  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's not just the weight though...the ride is what makes them special.

    • @kayakutah
      @kayakutah ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The hub is basically a DT 350 with common rachet and bearings. The spokes are amazing. Super durable, very good ride quality and you can carry spare spokes in your bike tool bag if you were so inclined. I don't understand why these wouldn't hold their value.
