I have mine in a west facing window. It's summer, so I put it in a self watering pot straight away. Since I got it two months ago it has put out six leaves and it's not slowing down, lol. So looking forward to peduncles!
I bought a single leaf in a square pot at Walmart. It didn't do anything for almost a year. I read an article that said to take it out of the pot to see if it had a node. Then it said that if it does push some of the soil away so that the sunlight actually touches it some during the day. Well, I took it out of the pot and it had a few VERY small roots. I left the node exposed and turned the pot so that sunlight would touch it for a few hours a day. It worked! I now have more leaves. I was very happy :D
Thank you Miro. I just bought a Hoya Kerri splash and it is in leca. I am kind of nervous because it is very tall and needs a trellis. I think I will use the rabbit fence trellis and attempt to wind it around the trellis.
My Kerrii just did awful after I brought it home. Nothing I did made it happy. Finally I took it out of it's pot and realized it's roots were almost gone, I thought it was going to die for sure. I cut it into 4 pieces and put it in LECA. It's growing like crazy mad now. I call it my spoiled brat baby. I'm happy I was able to save it. Your Kerrii is really pretty and looks quite happy and healthy. Thank you for your video :)
I am glad you were able to save it! Sometimes I swear semihydro works like magic. It is witchcraft for sure. I saved many hoyas that arrived almost dead this way. I hope your Hoya kerrii does well from now on! No more diva behaviour please! :D
I love the leaf shape on Kerii, but I am really not a fan of their growth pattern, so I haven't bought one. They tend to have very thick and upright stems almost like a shrub.
It DOES look like something that can hurt a person 😂 There are days I like it, there are days I don't. I think I will know for sure when I get more leaves.
I have the one with the yellow margins. I had some problems with it turning yellow and dropping leaves. It’s in a Hoya mixture like yours and a clay pot. I finally put it in a cloche and it is doing much better! I just ordered a green Kerrii and 3 other hoyas. I hope they arrive ok , shipping is taking a long time. Thanks for the great series!
I hope it does better. Perhaps version with yellow margins is more sensitive? I hope it does much better for you know. If I get another version, I will let you know how it goes for me :)
It would be faster to water propagate first and then put it in lecca. I did try out rooting in lecca with semihydroponics setup with Hoya carnosa 'Krimson Queen' and it was successful but it takes more time. It's waster to root in water first and then move to semi hydro :)

You are very funny! Keep smiling and laughing! I love your humor and plant knowledge.

Definitely. That is my issue with this one as well. Really, really thick vines 😂
Lol.... a weapon. Mine looks exactly like yours... I did get 2 more little leaves. I don't know how I feel about mine...lol

In Canada these hoyas r now in the nurseries
That is great to hear! They are still not available here as rotted cuttings, just sad single leaves :(
Will it grow from one leaf that we get to.biy?
It's not very likely, but some people seem to have success.
Great video. I just recieved a cutting of Kerrii, would you suggest putting it straight into leca or root it in water first? Thank you 🌿😁
